This is my take on OC and public perception. In our father's youth all the TV shows were westerns. Everyone wore a gun unless they were the reformed outlaw or preacher or deacon who didn't believe in killin ... and we know how those story lines played out. We as kids got to play with toy guns and run around screaming BANG! playing ...... Cowboys and Indians. Somewhere along the way the gritty real life (yeah right) Hollywood cops and robbers came along as the big TV shows. Most were men our father's age with snub nose wheel guns or a 1911 (Magnum PI). So it set the stage for Cops have guns and the bad guys have guns. The average extra on the set didn't get a fake gun to wear under their coat. This all starts to make sense when you see that a section of people think only Cops and Soldiers should have guns. Because this is all they ever see as good guys on TV with guns. If there is a great conspiracy to disarm America......... and I think there is for bibical reasons....... this is a major part of it. Popular media sets what we think of as reasonable..... agree or not it does. Rap songs are full of Thugs with Glocks and AKs.

I get nervous when I have ICB root beer in the car. That bottle looks real from a distance.

He dropped the slide with the release on cartridge in the chamber then put a full mag in the grip. He didn't drop the slide on a mag and chamber a round the correct way.

I saw on channel 6 last night some footage of a man dropping the slide on a bobtailed 1911 when they were talking about the guns in bars bill. Anyone else see it? Any one else think "They shouldn't have done that".

You can pretty much throw the bullets by hand hard enough to put holes in the paper to pass. You have to hit the target (B27). If you can shoot a gun without killing yourself or the person beside you, you can pass the shooting part of the test.

Should you lose all your rights for say....... hacking someone's email. Or say insider trading. Yes I picked these 2 because they are "victimless" crimes and with the Sarah Palin case in the news it is timely and of course Martha Stewart is the insider trading. I think there should be a process after you had severed your time and it have a sliding scale as to the severity of the crime.

I use a coffin case when I want to be real low key.

If its for SHTF, you probably will only live through 2 firefights....... so after that it really doesn't matter who made your gun. If your going to war, someone will issue you a weapon and you will have no say in what you get.

I think when dad asked about replacements of guns State Farm said they would under the home owners policy but we had to submit a list of the guns and serial numbers.

I personally love the look of a flip sight on a longer rail. I would go with a lo-profile gas block and a free float rail. Just make sure you read around on the different AR forums and see which ones work together good.

For the number of people who were in there, it was packed, I caught a guy after helping a lady with a stock and asked him. He came over and looked with me and said they didn't have any in the back...... which is the information I was looking for. But like you there have been times I went in there and couldn't break them from talking amongst themselves.

I took my GF to CCA to look around and saw they are carrying MTACs now. I thought well I have been meaning to get one. They didn't have anything for Glocks.............. I was like well :) So I had to come home and order me one. If you want a MTAC for a XD or a 1911 they got tons. On the up side I did get to look at one before I ordered so that helped me decide that I did want one.

Crockett's Theme isn't really for the action scenes its more for the introspective moments like when he was on his way to kill that hit man who killed his wife on stage.

What I really really hate is how they make the CSI people look like the detectives/Sherlock Holmes on the show. They are in their Stargate SG1 vests and all carry different sidearms. That just bugs the devil out of me. And why have I never seen Gary on Law and Order if CSI:New York has all these cool cyber type computers and solve all these crimes.

I know Suarez (hope I spelled that right) has private lessons on his price list. Always stuck me as funny in a way but I see the logic in it. The other trainers on this board will work with you however you need it. What you are probably looking for is the local IPDA or IPSC Champion to give you a few pointers. I would suggest some social networking at few matches and make friends. Then take a class or 10 (wishful thinking) from the excellent people who offer classes here. I look at this from the point of view of my mom or sister. Both can shoot, both are capable of killing someone with a firearm if they had to. But they would be too nervous or self conscious in a class with other people.

What about all those vehicular homicides every year?

Most will be trapped in the city. They have no way out other than public transportation. The police can't cover every possible way out of the city and gangs of looters can cover it. And if they were bussed out by the government most would be sent to gov shelters. The few who have family in the country might make it there and survive till they run out of seeds. I think if its really bad there wont be anyone to sell you what you need even if you have gold and silver to bater with.
