  1. I have had the guns to shoot CAS for several years now. Mostly safe queens since I bought em and then couldn't get off work enough to go play. I was cleaning out the safe and got to fondling them. I'm thinking I might shoot SASS this weekend but I got a problem.......my cowboy rig has shrank! OK it hasn't I have expanded If I can't find a leather belt by Saturday do you think I would be looked down on if I wore my 6 shooters on a wilderness tactical nylon belt till I get a replacement for my Kirkpatrick?
  2. According to the match morning talk it's the goal for getting everyone to join IDPA and getting classified. I'd love to see a Lvl 2 at least in Oak Ridge.
  3. I will be running my "other" gun Saturday Morning sadly, my coil roofing nail gun Dad picked us up some side work. Man I hate roofing LOL. Have fun for me!
  4. My 1st Classifier I got bite by my Glock.........never happened before! It made me shooter lower than usual and I missed alot of head shots on Stage 1. The gimmie points. Then stage 3 I dont do well at "long range".
  5. At the one in turkey creek the girl on the one side was checking bags......the guy on the side we went in had a broke hand and could care less. I find it funny they check purses for guns but didn't ask me to lift my untucked shirt. I think it's more for people with video cameras than guns.
  6. I think it's more a shoplifting measure. Walmart did this the only time I ever bought a gun there and I asked the guy what was to stop someone from doing just that. He said it was an inventory control policy and not a gun safety policy. He could have been wrong though as this was several years back.
  7. I don't know. I only had a Ruger 22 for like 4 days. It was used and never cleaned. I shot it a few times racked the bolt numerous times before I came inside. Pointed it at the wall and pulled the trigger..........broke Mom's pretty picture window........... that was back in in 1993. Not had one since so it's not something I know a lot about.
  8. Alot shorter than IDPA matches! I think we got out about 130 last month.
  9. Go watch the original V..........it will help you make up your mind
  10. I hurt my knee today laying tile.......I might not be at the USPSA match this weekend
  11. It showed for me.....and I have to ask, Do you have stock in the Ammo Companies or WHAT!!  I see LOTS of ammo in my Saturday LOL.
  12. Well I got the sight on and some 147s loaded up. My 1st test fire round into the dirt seemed to be right in line with the sights so I set up a good target. It's a lot better now. Still might have to go to adjustable sights to get it dialed in. Which isn't a real big issue given it's a target gun. Seems to be a good combo with the n320 3.3 under 147 JHPs in old Triple Ds ( the serial prefix is DDD ) "feel" wise. Will let ya know when I do further testing this weekend.
  13. What worries me more is Bubba with his deer rifle than roving bands of Black/Mexican gang bangers.
  14. Pretty much ANY 9mm load was shooting low. I was running the Warren Tactical & Sevigny competition sights. They work fine on my 40 which I have been shooting lately. I got the .215 front to replace the .245. If it don't "work" for me I'm just going to get the Dawson adjustable sights and sight it in for me. I'm all for "shooting the guns" but I can tailor the gun to me easier LOL.
  15. I got my new/different front sight for my 34. If it don't fix the problem of it shooting WAAAAYYYY LOW I'll have to get some adjustable sights lol
  16. What do you consider the perfect gun for Steel Challenge Rimfire and Rimfire open. I'm thinking about getting the Mark III Competition model.
  17. And shooting till targets go down LOL.
  18. Didn't someone post the home addresses of the employees of the "paper" somewhere when this happened?
  19. I could hear me talking to Prag on 7 - I sound sooo country when I hear myself talk on tape LOL. 4 hours of standing around and pasting targets for about 3 mins of shooting!
  20. I think the rule is if it starts lighting they stop. Then again the last rainy match they still had a 100. I'm bringing my camera to see if I can get some action shots for everyone. I think it would be nice to have some in case you wanna spam facebook or BEons LOL.
  21. Is there anywhere good to get lead in the Knoxville/Oak Ridge area? All I saw on the pinned thread was mid-Tenn sources.
  22. Since your getting your feet wet, I think I'd start with 125 grain and 147 grain loads. Reason being you can pick up a lot of tips and loads from other shooters and they are common enough that you can't really mess them up. Then as you progress and get comfortable with the rolling your own you can experiment more.
  23. Impossible! Didn't you see the magic 30-06 signage on the door? This is one of those magical "gun free zones" where nothing bad can happen!

    1911 gift

I 2nd the TRP. One of the best production 1911s out there.
  25. If ya were reloading I think you'd like 40 minor in production. Bigger bullet and stupid easy to make power factor and well you saw how mine did on steel..........and you can see the holes better than 9mm if you need to make up a shot.
