https://www.theblaze.com/news/2018/08/19/study-demand-for-concealed-carry-weapons-permits-skyrocketing-despite-anti-gun-campaigning Study: Demand for concealed carry weapons permits skyrocketing despite anti-gun campaigning Aug 19, 2018 5:31 pm Dr. Shandrea Boyd (R) shoots at a target as instructor Will Smith looks on during her concealed carry certification test at the Eagle Sports gun range in Oak Forest, Illinois, on July 16, 2017. (JIM YOUNG/AFP/Getty Images) Follow Teri Webster Article GoalINFORM SHARE TWEET The number of concealed carry weapons permits is skyrocketing, despite aggressive anti-gun campaigns, a new study shows. How much is it growing? Issued CCW permits have increased about 275 percent over a 10-year period, from 4.6 million permits in 2007 to more than 17.25 million permits in 2018, according to a study released Friday by Crime Prevention Research Center. Special: Beat the heat this summer! Amazing new device keeps your drinks ice cold! The figure has increased every year and is expected to continue increasing. From 2007 through 2018, women and minorities represent the largest demographic increase. When compared to white individuals, permits for Asian and black individuals spiked 29 percent and 20 percent faster, respectively. “That increase in women and minorities mirrors their changing views on guns,” John Lott, the founder of the CPRC, told Fox News. “A poll by [the] Pew [Research Center] helps to explain why there has been such a large increase in concealed handgun permits among blacks and women,” he said. “The poll shows a 25 percentage point increase in the proportion of blacks with a favorable view of gun ownership. This is the largest increase of any group.” Among all women the increase was 11 percent, and the increase among men was 8 percent. The study also showed that CCW permit holders are “extremely” law-abiding citizens. Which states have the most? In Florida and Texas, states with the largest number of permit issued, permit holders are convicted of misdemeanor and felony crimes at about one-sixth of the rate that law enforcement officers are convicted, according to reports. “The states that we have seen a slowing of permits have primarily been these ‘constitutional carry’ states where a permit is no longer required,” Lott told the Fox News. “Indeed, some of those states have even seen a drop in the number of permits even though the number of people carrying in those places has undoubtedly gone up,” he added.

The video depicts two Pennsylvania State Troopers, Ryan Seiple and Seth Kelly, attempting to arrest 22-year-old Daniel K. Clary. The incident took place last year on November 7, 2017, and Clary was convicted in June of attempted murder of two police officers. “The troopers were in a knock-down, drag-out fight along the side of the road with vehicles speeding by them, and it got very, very violent,” State Police Captain Richard D’Ambrosio told Fox29 after viewing the video of the altercation. The video above begins after Seiple had already cited Clary for speeding, according to The Morning Call. Seiple began to suspect that Clary had been driving under the influence, and he asked the suspect to step out of the vehicle after Kelly arrived on the scene. Clary begins to resist when Seiple and Kelly try to place him under arrest, and the subsequent fight lasts one minute and six seconds as cars speed past along Pennsylvania’s busy Route 33. Seiple and Kelly both try to subdue Clary with Tasers and blows to the head, but the man continues to struggle. Seiple used his Taser on Clary twice and punched him five times, according to The Morning Call. Kelly tasered Clary five times, threw nine punches and kneed him once. Clary tries to grab the officers’ weapons throughout the course of the fight, and he eventually breaks free, runs to his car, and grabs a revolver. He fires six rounds, hitting Kelly in the neck, shoulder, and leg, according to Capt. D’Ambrosio. Seiple continues firing at Clary’s car, but the suspect soon drives away. In total, Kelly fired 21 rounds and Seiple fired 20, according to The Morning Call. SEE ALSO: WATCH: Suspects, Police Exchange Over 60 Rounds in Insane Shootout Authorities said Kelly likely saved his own life by applying a tourniquet to his severed femoral artery. He remained in the hospital 25 days, 12 of which in a medically induced coma, according to LehighValley.com. He arrived at the hospital clinically dead, but medical personnel were able to revive him. Clary drove himself to the hospital and was treated for multiple injuries, including a bullet lodged in his head. He was convicted of multiple felonies and faces decades in prison. Northampton County First Deputy District Attorney Terence Houck told The Morning Call he waited to release the dashcam footage until getting permission from Seiple and Kelly. “Our concerns have always been the victims, the state troopers in this matter, protecting them,” Houck told the newspaper. “But after speaking with them, they wanted it released, as did I.”

(Image source: Facebook video screenshot) Follow Sarah TaylorSTAFF WRITER POLITICAL VIEW CHRISTIAN LIBERTARIAN VALUES FAITH, FAMILY HERO JOHN THE BAPTIST Article GoalINFORM SHARE TWEET Facebook user Leah Norris caught the moment a patriotic young boy — who is apparently wheelchair-bound — stood for the playing of the national anthem at a Tennessee fair, according to WZTV-TV. What are the details? Norris said she attended a demolition derby Sunday night at the Putnam County Fair when she caught the heartwarming moment on video. During performer Jenny Leigh’s rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” a young boy — who wore braces on his legs — struggled to get out of his wheelchair. Norris did not fail to notice the young boy and his dedication to standing for the playing of the national anthem. In the video, the young boy — who WZTV identified as 10-year-old Avery Price — can be seen standing in the video, leaning on who the outlet identified as his father, as well as his wheelchair, in order to remain upright for the anthem. According to the station, Avery suffers from HSP — a condition similar to cerebral palsy — which makes it difficult for him to use his legs. Norris shared the video on Sunday, and captioned it, “One of the most touching things I’ve ever seen tonight! This young man was struggling to stand for the anthem as he had braces on both legs with his Dad patting his back in support of helping him. You may or may not agree and that’s your choice. But this goes to show that If he can stand for his country, so can you. I’m not sure who this boy or his family is, or if it’ll ever reach them again. But his parents are raising a fine young man.” At the time of this writing, the video has received over 55,000 views. Does the young boy realize the impact he made? Norris said that the young boy doesn’t realize the impact he made in standing for the national anthem, despite his infirmity. “He doesn’t understand the impact he made,” Norris said, according to the news outlet. “It’s not a protest of anything it’s more of our soldiers and our men and women in uniform are fighting for our rights to do what we want and Avery done what he wanted, and he stood up for what he believed and he stood up for his country.” WZTV spoke with Avery’s father, Stephen, who expressed pride in his son. ” … [V]ery proud to see him do that,” Stephen said. “That makes me feel really good, especially for the stuff he’s been through and that he still wanted to do that, that’s amazing to me.” Stephen added, “He’s a very patriotic kid. The braces he had beforehand were the American flags. He’s always been that way.” Avery told the station, “I usually sit and put my hand on my heart, but last night I decided to stand … because I like to stand for my country.” According to the station, Avery just started walking after a successful procedure at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

(Image source: YouTube screenshot) Follow Dave Urbanski Article GoalINFORM SHARE TWEET A harrowing police bodycam video showed an officer pursuing a pair of murder suspects in a high-speed chase near downtown Las Vegas last week — during which an officer fired 11 shots through his windshield at the suspects, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. Police on Monday released the video which showed officer William Umana pursuing Fidel Miranda, 22, and Rene Nunez, 30, last Wednesday and yelling “shots fired, shots fired” into his radio, the paper said. Special: When is the precise date Bitcoin’s price will begin climbing higher What led to the chase? Miranda and Nunez are suspects in the death of 25-year-old Thomas Romero, who was shot multiple times in the chest Wednesday at a car wash, police told the Review-Journal. Romero died that morning at a hospital, the paper said. Police spotted a 2000 Ford Expedition that matched the description of the suspects’ vehicle just after 9:30 a.m., the paper said, and then the SUV sped off through oncoming traffic while firing at pursuing police, Metropolitan Police Department Assistant Sheriff Tim Kelly said at a briefing Monday, the Review-Journal said. When another police cruiser joined the chase, Officer Umana warned his fellow officer to stay back, the paper said — and that second officer’s cruiser was hit by bullets at least twice and couldn’t finish the chase. Umana, 43, pulled his vehicle closer to the SUV and fired 11 shots through his windshield, the Review-Journal said. The officer also fired seven shots through his open window, the paper said. The suspects fired 34 rounds during the pursuit, Kelly told the paper, while officers fired 31 shots. What happened at the end of the chase? One of the suspects — Nunez — exited the vehicle while it was still moving near an elementary school and ran up the school’s steps in an attempt to enter, but the door was locked, Kelly told the Review-Journal. The other suspect — Miranda — moved to the driver’s seat and tried backing up toward Umana, who left his vehicle and continued firing at the SUV. The plainclothes officer Paul Solomon, 46 — who was not wearing a bodycam — approached the passenger-side door of the suspects’ vehicle and fired his shotgun once, hitting Miranda, the Review-Journal said. Miranda was handcuffed while medical was called but was soon pronounced dead at the scene, the paper said, adding that Officers Umana and Solomon were not injured. Police arrested Nunez, who had gunshot wounds from the pursuit or from a shooting earlier that morning, the Review-Journal reported. One civilian’s car was struck by gunfire, Kelly told the paper. What happened to the suspect who survived? Nunez is accused of stealing the SUV on May 20 in North Las Vegas, Kelly told the Review-Journal, adding that one of the guns Nunez used during the chase had been reported stolen May 20. Nunez faces multiple charges of murder with a deadly weapon and attempted murder with a deadly weapon, the paper said, adding that he was in jail Monday without bail. Miranda and Nunez had aliases — “Cabezon” and “Kreeepper,” respectively, which could be gang-related — Kelly told the Review-Journal. What was said about the officers? Kelly characterized the actions of Umana and Solomon as heroic, the paper said. Referrring to Umana, Kelly said he “could have backed off, but he didn’t.” (H/T: Blue Lives Matter)

https://www.theblaze.com/video/2a-win-government-will-allow-cody-wilson-to-print-and-distribute-plans-for-3d-printed-gun TV Channels Radio SIGN UP LOGIN 2A WIN: Government will allow Cody Wilson to print and distribute plans for 3D-printed gun The News & Why it Matters Jul 11, 2018 5:21 pm SHARE TWEET Back in 2013, Cody Wilson designed a 3D-printed gun called “The Liberator.” After printing his own guns, he decided to share the plans on the internet through an organization called Defense Distributed. Because distributing plans to build guns is illegal, the State Department’s Office of Defense Trade Controls Compliance ordered Wilson to immediately stop distribution of any and all plans. Two years later, The Second Amendment Foundation, a nonprofit, filed a lawsuit on behalf of Defense Distributed. Earlier this week a settlement was reached, allowing Wilson to distribute his 3D-printed gun files online. The federal government will also have to pay a portion of his legal fees. Special: The truth about cryptos and how Wall Street & Washington are covering it up Why is this important? In recent years, especially after the massacre in Parkland, gun control has become a hot-button issue among political groups. Politicians from both sides have called for extreme measures and protests have been held. The AR-15, a sporting rifle, has been labeled an “assault rifle,” and a “weapon of war,” discouraging the use and purchase of said rifle. In a press release, the Second Amendment Foundation stated, “Significantly, the government expressly acknowledges that non-automatic firearms up to .50-caliber—including modern semi-auto sporting rifles such as the popular AR-15 and similar firearms—are not inherently military.” Many conservatives feared that their Second Amendment right would be taken away by the gun-control advocates on the left, however, this settlement, while not actual law, may make a significant difference in the handling of Second Amendment cases. What does Glenn think? Back in 2013, Glenn Beck interviewed Cody Wilson, asking him about his newly 3D printed gun. Today on “The News and Why It Matters,” Glenn showed the actual gun to his co-hosts and discussed the importance of this settlement. “The government said that every, including up to a .50-cal, is not a weapon of war, and that includes modern sporting rifles, otherwise known as AR-15s,” Glenn said. Host Sara Gonzales replied, “I feel like that will have huge repercussions later on down the road because when they talk about ‘assault weapon’ bans, and ‘weapons of war’ bans, and things of that nature, all of those are all included in that list.” Cody Wilson made strides for the Second Amendment in America. The article below under, "A Long List of Red Flags", from the Washington Post gives the impression that maybe Police personally knew the Father, who was out of town at the time, and gave him a heads up on the incident. There were two separate incidents that occurred on the same day, 6/6/17. The Parents are supposedly wealthy, so maybe they are well known within the community, thus a possible reason for the call from Police, but who knows for sure. Only a theory on my part. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2018/04/23/waffle-house-shooting-travis-reinking-manhunt-continues-nashville-police-say/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.c1ac435b0594

Arlington National Cemetery Asking for Public Opinion

I thought it to be very commendable that they are asking what the public thinks. We don't have very many government agencies asking for our opinions about the services that they provide to us. -

Don't know the answer to that one. I can only guess. Soros and Bloomberg have billions at their disposal, and the NRA does not have cash like that on hand. Maybe they want to use their funds in a more targeted approach. Would it be better for them to fund a march, or use the money as they do right now? I don't know the answer to that. I would hope they have people on staff that know best how to use their funds.

As usual with the media, things aren't as we are lead to believe. Although the crowd was large, it was not as big as was initially reported. https://www.theblaze.com/news/2018/03/25/turnout-for-d-c-student-gun-protest-march-is-far-lower-than-originally-reported This was a well organized, well funded propaganda machine funded by the usual left wing extremists. George Soros and his well-funded organizations were the money behind this, along with Bloomberg and the Hollywood usuals. There is no way that "Parkland Survivors" put all of this together. Putting an event like this together would take millions. Security logistics, permits, and all of the staging in a Washington DC setting are unbelievably expensive. This was not about Parkland Survivors. They are being used by left wing extremists that have only one objective - make the 2nd Amendment obsolete and ban all weapons. https://www.dailysignal.com/2018/03/24/went-march-lives-protest-7-takeaways/?utm_source=TDS_Email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=MorningBell"&mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiT1dZeE16UmtabUl5TldVeCIsInQiOiJtM3VrTFlyQ0VtSXZ2NzY3d0pURlo3RERQREJiSkVGRWM4bWh4QktoVU1xODI0QVIwSTlYaG5scVFJYVRwaVpGNkVtckxKOUIwbkJ6eVdJc1wvQzc2Z3hxYUxJV2s2XC9Ib1M2ZGV5UDJsYXIyTTkzTzJKT2hqUnoydjJCbnN3a1hCIn0%3D

Some interesting facts in the article: The FBI’s Uniform Crime Reports prove that the overwhelming majority of gun-related homicides are perpetrated with handguns, with rifles of any kind accounting for less than 3 percent of gun-related homicides. In 2013, 5,782 murders were committed by killers who used a handgun, compared to 285 committed by killers who used a rifle. The same holds true for 2012 (6,404 to 298); 2011 (6,251 to 332); 2010 (6,115 to 367); and 2009 (6,501 to 351). More people are stabbed to death every year than are murdered with rifles. Switzerland and Israel have much higher gun ownership rates than the United States but experience far fewer homicides and have much lower violent crime rates than many European nations with strict gun control laws. While some will argue that the guns carried by Swiss and Israeli citizens are technically “owned” by the government in most cases, this does little to negate the fact that many citizens in those countries have ready access to firearms. SEARCH CONNECT MENU Here Are 8 Stubborn Facts on Gun Violence in America John G. Malcolm / @malcolm_john / Amy Swearer / @AmySwearer / March 14, 2018 / Global statistics show that higher rates of gun ownership are not associated with higher rates of violent crime. (Photo: DmyTo/Getty Images) COMMENTARY BY John G. Malcolm@malcolm_john John G. Malcolm is the vice president of the Institute for Constitutional Government and director of the Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, overseeing The Heritage Foundation’s work to increase understanding of the Constitution and the rule of law. Read his research. Amy Swearer@AmySwearer Amy Swearer is a visiting legal fellow at the Meese Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at The Heritage Foundation. In the wake of the tragic murder of 17 innocent students and teachers at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, students, educators, politicians, and activists are searching for solutions to prevent future school shootings. As emotions morph from grief to anger to resolve, it is vitally important to supply facts so that policymakers and professionals can fashion solutions based on objective data rather than well-intended but misguided emotional fixes. Are there ways to reduce gun violence and school shootings? Yes, but only after objectively assessing the facts and working collaboratively to fashion commonsense solutions. Here are eight stubborn facts to keep in mind about gun violence in America: Violent crime is down and has been on the decline for decades. The principal public safety concerns with respect to guns are suicides and illegally owned handguns, not mass shootings. A small number of factors significantly increase the likelihood that a person will be a victim of a gun-related homicide. Gun-related murders are carried out by a predictable pool of people. Higher rates of gun ownership are not associated with higher rates of violent crime. There is no clear relationship between strict gun control legislation and homicide or violent crime rates. Legally owned firearms are used for lawful purposes much more often than they are used to commit crimes or suicide. Concealed carry permit holders are not the problem, but they may be part of the solution. Each of these facts is firmly based on empirical data. Here’s a deeper look. 1. America is relatively safe, and the trend is toward becoming safer. According to the National Crime Victimization Survey, violent crime has been declining steadily since the early 1990s. The 2011 homicide rate was almost half of the rate in 1991, and according to the Pew Research Center, the 2013 gun-related death rate was half of the rate in 1993. The number of nonfatal firearm crimes committed in 2011 was one-sixth the number committed in 1993. In the past few years, there have been minor increases in certain types of violent crimes, mainly in large metropolitan areas. However, these increases are nowhere near those seen in the 1990s and are largely related to gang activity. It should be remembered that it takes at least three to five years of data to show true trend lines. It appears that the collective homicide toll for America’s 50 largest cities decreased modestly in 2017 after two consecutive years of increases. 2. The principal public safety concerns are suicides and illegally owned handguns. According to the Pew Research Center, almost two-thirds of America’s annual gun deaths are suicides. Since 1981, when the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention began publishing data, gun suicides have outnumbered gun homicides. In 2010 alone, 19,392 Americans used guns to kill themselves. Most gun-related crimes are carried out with illegally owned firearms—as much as 80 percent according to some estimates. The FBI’s Uniform Crime Reports prove that the overwhelming majority of gun-related homicides are perpetrated with handguns, with rifles of any kind accounting for less than 3 percent of gun-related homicides. A person is more likely to be bludgeoned to death with a blunt object or beaten to death with hands and feet than to be murdered with a rifle. 3. A small number of factors significantly increase the likelihood that a person will be a victim of a gun-related homicide. Where do you live? Murders in the United States are very concentrated. According to the Crime Prevention Research Center, over 50 percent of murders occur in 2 percent of the nation’s 3,142 counties. Moreover, gun-related homicides are heavily concentrated in certain neighborhoods within those counties: 54 percent of U.S. counties had zero murders in 2014. Who is your partner? According to a recent scholarly article in the Hastings Law Journal, people recently or currently involved in an abusive intimate relationship are much more likely to be victims of gun-related homicide than is the rest of the population, especially if the abuser possesses firearms. Are you in a gang? According to the Department of Justice’s National Gang Center, particularly in urban areas, significant percentages of gun-related homicides (15 percent to 33 percent) are linked with gang and drug activity. Gang-related homicides are more likely to involve firearms than non-gang-related homicides are. Are you a male between 15 and 34? The majority of standard gun murder victims are men between the ages of 15 and 34. Although black men make up roughly 7 percent of the population, they account for almost two-thirds of gun murder victims every year. Women and children are more likely to be the victims of mass shootings and homicide-suicide shootings than they are to be the victims of a “typical” gun-related homicide. 4. The perpetration of gun-related murders is often carried out by predictable people. According to studies, almost all mass public shooters have extensive histories of mental health issues (whether delusional/psychiatric or depression/anger), disturbing behaviors, or interpersonal violence. Intimate partner conflict and domestic violence history are major risk factors for homicide-suicides, even for those not involving intimate partners. Especially in urban areas, a small number of recidivist violent offendersare typically responsible for the majority of gun violence. 5. Higher rates of gun ownership are not associated with higher rates of violent crime. Canada is ranked 12th in the world for the number of civilian-owned guns per capita and reports one of the world’s lower homicide rates—but even then, some provinces have higher homicide rates than U.S. states with less restrictive laws and higher rates of gun ownership have. Although many gun control advocates have noted that “right to carry” states tend to experience slight increases in violent crime, other studies have noted the opposite effect. Higher rates of concealed carry permit holders are even more strongly associated with reduction in violent crime than are right-to-carry states. The probable reason for this is that right-to-carry studies often include “open carry” states, which have not been shown to correlate with more people actually carrying or even owning firearms. Rates of concealed carry permit holders are better indicators of the number of people who actually possess and carry firearms within a given population. Further, as with most correlations, there are many other factors that can account for increases in concealed carry permits—including the fact that people who live in already dangerous neighborhoods seek out means of self-defense. The Huffington Post noted that the rate of concealed carry permit requests in Chicago has soared in recent years after the city loosened restrictions, in large part, according to the Chicago Tribune, because law-abiding residents are increasingly worried about rising rates of violent crime in the city. The rate of gun ownership is higher among whites than it is among African-Americans, but the murder rate among African-Americans is significantly higher than the rate among whites. Similarly, the rate of gun ownership is higher in rural areas than in urban areas, but urban areas experience higher murder rates. 6. There is no clear relationship between strict gun control legislation and homicide or violent crime rates. The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence ironically makes this clear with its ratings for states based on gun laws. “Gun freedom” states that score poorly, like New Hampshire, Vermont, Idaho, and Oregon, have some of the lowest homicide rates. Conversely, “gun control-loving” states that received high scores, like Maryland and Illinois, experience some of the nation’s highest homicide rates. The Crime Prevention Research Center notes that, if anything, the data indicate that countries with high rates of gun ownership tend to have lower homicide rates—but this is only a correlation, and many factors do not necessarily support a conclusion that high rates of gun ownership cause the low rates of homicide. Homicide and firearm homicide rates in Great Britain spiked in the yearsimmediately following the imposition of severe gun control measures, despite the fact that most developed countries continued to experience a downward trend in these rates. This is also pointed out by noted criminologist John Lott in his book “The War on Guns.” Similarly, Ireland’s homicide rates spiked in the years immediately following the country’s 1972 gun confiscation legislation. Australia’s National Firearms Act appears to have had little effect on suicide and homicide rates, which were falling before the law was enacted and continued to decline at a statistically unremarkable rate compared to worldwide trends. According to research compiled by Lott and highlighted in his book “The War on Guns,” Australia’s armed and unarmed robbery rates both increased markedly in the five years immediately following the National Firearms Act, despite the general downward trend experienced by other developed countries. Great Britain has some of the strictest gun control laws in the developed world, but the violent crime rate for homicide, rape, burglary, and aggravated assault is much higher than that in the U.S. Further, approximately 60 percent of burglaries in Great Britain occur while residents are home, compared to just 13 percent in the U.S., and British burglars admit to targeting occupied residences because they are more likely to find wallets and purses. It is difficult to compare homicide and firearm-related murder rates across international borders because countries use different methods to determine which deaths “count” for purposes of violent crime. For example, since 1967, Great Britain has excluded from its homicide countsany case that does not result in a conviction, that was the result of dangerous driving, or in which the person was determined to have acted in self-defense. All of these factors are counted as “homicides” in the United States. 7. Legally owned firearms are used for lawful purposes much more often than they are used to commit crimes or suicide. In 2013, President Barack Obama ordered the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to assess existing research on gun violence. The report, compiled by the Institute of Medicine and the National Research Council, found (among other things) that firearms are used defensively hundreds of thousands of times every year. According to the CDC, “self-defense can be an important crime deterrent.” Recent CDC reports acknowledge that studies directly assessing the effect of actual defensive uses of guns have found “consistently lower injury rates among gun-using crime victims compared with victims who used other self-protective strategies.” Semi-automatic rifles (such as the AR-15) are commonly used as self-defense weapons in the homes of law-abiding citizens because they are easier to control than handguns, are more versatile than handguns, and offer the advantage of up to 30 rounds of protection. Even Vox has published stories defending the use of the AR-15. AR-15s have been used to save lives on many occasions, including: Oswego, Illinois (2018)—A man with an AR-15 intervened to stop a neighbor’s knife attack and cited the larger weapon’s “intimidation factor” as a reason why the attacker dropped the knife. Catawba County, North Carolina (2018)—A 17-year-old successfully fought off three armed attackers with his AR-15. Houston, Texas (2017)—A homeowner survived a drive-by shooting by defending himself with his AR-15. Broken Arrow, Oklahoma (2017)—A homeowner’s son killed three would-be burglars with an AR-15 (the man was later deemed to have acted in justifiable self-defense). Ferguson, Missouri (2014)—African-American men protected a white man’s store from rioters by standing outside armed with AR-15s. Texas (2013)—A 15-year-old boy used an AR-15 during a home invasion to save both his life and that of his 12-year-old sister. Rochester, New York (2013)—Home intruders fled after facing an AR-15. 8. Concealed carry permit holders are not the problem, but they may be part of the solution. Lott found that, as a group, concealed carry permit holders are some of the most law-abiding people in the United States. The rate at which they commit crimes generally and firearm crimes specifically is between one-sixth and one-tenth of that recorded for police officers, who are themselves committing crimes at a fraction of the rate of the general population. Between 2007 and 2015, murder rates dropped 16 percent and violent crime rates dropped 18 percent, even though the percentage of adults with concealed carry permits rose by 190 percent. Regression estimates show a significant association between increased permit ownership and a drop in murder and violent crime rates. Each percentage point increase in rates of permit-holding is associated with a roughly 2.5 percent drop in the murder rate. Concealed carry permit holders are often “the good guy with a gun,” even though they rarely receive the attention of the national media. Concealed carry permit holders were credited with saving multiple lives in: Rockledge, Florida (2017); Antioch, Tennessee (2017); Arlington, Texas (2017); Lyman, South Carolina (2016); Winton Hills, Ohio (2015); Conyers, Georgia (2015); New Holland, South Carolina (2015); Chicago, Illinois (2015); Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (2015); Darby, Pennsylvania (2015); Chicago, Illinois (2014); Portland, Oregon (2014); Spartanburg, South Carolina (2012).

“Take the firearms first, and then go to court because that’s another system. Because a lot of times, by the time you go to court, it takes so long to go to court, to get the due process procedures — I like taking the guns early." This comment comes real close to shredding the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Amendments. A very fine line being walked there. Wonder what actions he might want to take should something really big happen like the country go into severe recession or even depression - and we know that will never happen again because history never repeats itself. I would personally prefer that he use the Constitution and Bill of Rights for some guidance.
