Uselton to close doors on/about 30 June 2012
daddyo replied to BimmerFreak's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
As good as the firearms business is right now, this speaks volumes about Uselton's business practices and their failure to earn their share of the market. It's just beyond me how they were unable to see that before now. But, this is how the free market is supposed to work. -
This is when a propane torch would be lots of fun.

This kind of crap only makes it harder for the average joe to trust law enforcement. When law enforcement as a whole starts policing itself and prosecuting and convicting the thugs with a badge and a gun within their own ranks, then they will have taken a HUGE step in regaining the trust of the citizenry.

Word of mouth can be a very powerful influence. Some of the members here know people who live within that 30-45 mile radius and may dissuade them from doing business with OT. The only thing I have used them for is the range. I've never bought anything or had any work done, so I'm unqualified to comment on that part of it. However, they've always been happy to show me anything I wanted to see and answer any questions I had.

All I wanted was a simple, pump action HD shotgun that would go boom every time I pulled the trigger. Didn't want a lot of money tied up in one, so I bought the NEF Pardner Protector at my local Academy for $179 plus tax and background check.

If TN were to pass an amendment like this, I would recommend that "shall be subject to strict scrutiny" be reworded to read "shall be subject to a serious ass whoopin'".

When my son was a senior in high school, he rear-ended a guy two miles from our house driving about 50mph. He took his eyes off the road for a second and the guy in front of him locked his brakes for another guy in front of him. I don't know how many times I told him "never take your eyes off the road". Anyway, totaled the car, but he was unhurt (Mitsubishi has excellent safety features in their vehicles!) and the guy he hit had some minor back injury that a trip to his doctor took care of. It could have been so much worse. Anyway, the TN state trooper who arrived at the scene could NOT have been more understanding and kind, especially when he found out my son is diabetic. He ended up not issuing a citation so that it would not go on his record, and our insurance did not suffer as a result. He did give my son a strong lecture about putting down the phone while driving, which he needed to hear and I was grateful that he did. I am indebted to this trooper who did us a HUGE favor and I wish I'd had the presence of mind that night to get his name to commend him to his superiors for the professional and compassionate manner in which he treated us that night.

Sorry, but this is going to make me sound like a cop basher. The only role of law enforcement is just that - enforcing the law. Anything else subjects them, and rightly so, to harsh scrutiny as WE are the ones who pay their salaries. They don't get to make laws on the spot to feed their ego. They don't get to abuse citizens who have done nothing wrong. They don't get to stomp on the God-given, constitutional rights of the law-abiding citizen, though it seems many of them try to do just that. There are more videos of this kind of thing on the interwebz than there should be. Actually, there should be NONE. We EXPECT them to act honorably and treat law-abiding citizens with respect, and we should not be expected to give them a medal when they do. You give medals and commendations for going ABOVE AND BEYOND the call of duty, NOT doing what is expected. If the job is THAT hard, then they need to find other lines of work. If I'm out of line with those comments, then I'm sorry, but that just how I see it.

Congratulations! My better half and I just celebrated our 32nd.

If we expose politicians' abuse of power, does that mean we're politician haters?

LOL Got me! -
That's not true. I have no problem with LEOs who truly "serve and protect". It's the one who have inflated egos, have the attitude that everyone is a criminal until proven otherwise, or don't hesitate to stomp on the law-abiding citizen's constitutional rights that I have HUGE problems with.
-
All you guys who are saying that the cops do a lot of good things.... I'm not disagreeing with you, but just like the guys who are providing proof of bad behavior on the part of LE, if you have video evidence, post it up.

I don't fault him either, it's just when people like this start trying to teach their bad habits and general ignorance to others that it bothers me somewhat...

Anyone can buy one of those badges. Even criminals.

LOL. I just tried to post a comment and he's blocked me too. I guess I told him some time ago what I thought of his mall ninja persona and forgot that I did.

I remember seeing this several months ago. The guy is a total moron. Someone should post the link to this thread on his YouTube channel. BTW, can someone explain to me who "Yootoob" is? As in, "Wha's up, Yootoob??"
