1. I've heard Cannonball's Covers on Kentucky Ave in Nashville is good.
2. He was a TV legend and for many was the face of wholesome, family entertainment. Farewell, Sheriff Taylor.
3. But how soon no one really seems to know. Instead of electric, I wish more money and research was spent on hydrogen as a fuel source, especially for automobiles.
4. Idiots.
5. Just wanted to share a pic of my latest purchase. I love Swiss Army Knives, especially the Tinker pattern. I have 2 and will probably pick up a third one soon. This one is wearing nylon (economy) replacement scales instead of the original red cellidors. Except for the Victorinox logo rubbing off, they don't seem to show pocket wear like the cellidor scales do.
6. Crocs are great for changing into after backpacking all day. They let your feet air out and they just feel good after a day of hiking in leather boots. I hung a pair off my pack when we went to Philmont Scout Ranch in 2005 and they were one of the best things about getting into camp every day. I also use them for gardening shoes. I like 'em!
7. I was talking to my dad this weekend, who, like many octogenarians and WWII vets, grew up on a farm. I asked him if he remembered them having summers this hot, and he said of course they did, but since they had no a/c, they didn't know the difference. They also took baths only once or twice a week, but everyone had the same lifestyle, so that was the norm. We're all used to climate control indoors, so that's why the heat feels much warmer than it really is and why everyone makes such a big deal out of it.
8. I personally don't care about an actor's politics, since the vast majority of them don't have a clue what they're talking about anyway. They can be as much of an idiot as they care to be off screen, but if I'm paying good money to see one of their films, they dang sure better put their personal views aside and do what they're being paid to do, which is entertain.
9. Hey, don't you fellas know that guns are dangerous???
10. A deserted island in the pacific is looking better all the time....
11. I feel sorry for folks with respiratory ailments right now.
12. Bought mine at the Walmart checkout on the rack with the gum and candy and the Bic lighters.
13. I've never used Google Shopping for anything and now have even more of a reason not to do so.
14. I just walked to the post office, about 100 yards from where I work. On the way back, I looked in the mirror in the men's room, and I'm pretty sure one eye and one corner of my mouth was lower than the other.
15. Thanks for posting this. While I was on vacation in Maine last month, I bought a Victorinox Tinker with yellow scales and the Gadsden Flag insignia. I realized after reading this article that it was particularly fitting that I bought that knife in what was originally part of the Massachusetts Bay Colony before the Revolutionary War. Great read.
16. I don't know about "best", but these two seem to be working really well for me right now.
17. Might the government be able to eventually regulate firearms through the insurance industry?
18. More flawless logic from Mr. Whittle: Apparently logic was absent from the SCOTUS ruling today.
19. Anyone here taken any of the classes offered at Viking Cooking School out in Franklin at The Factory? I was considering signing up for one.
20. And on top of all that, I don't use my vehicles or my yard to make political statements. I don't understand why some people want to give some radical leftie a reason to confront them. I just don't have time for it.
21. I'd also like to make something perfectly clear. I have two good friends who are LEOs - neither of them would ever overstep their authority or let their personal biases influence how they carry out their duties, because they are professionals. They enforce the law, not use their authority to punish anyone who doesn't bend to their will. Neither would they tolerate one of their own abusing his or her authority. LEOs who go beyond enforcing the law and resort to physical violence when it is not justified are overstepping their bounds and, by doing so, become thugs with badges and guns. I don't see how you can call them anything else. No one is deserving of a beating just because they may have had a previous brush with the law. What they might have done in the past has no bearing on the present encounter, especially if they have no criminal record. I'm wondering if some folks' definition of "run-in" consists of refusing to allow an LEO or any other public servant to take advantage of or blatantly trample one's constitutional rights.
22. Maybe he was, I don't know for sure. Let me ask you again - what crime did he commit according to the article? No conjecture, or postulating, just facts as we know them at this time, please.
