  1. OK, you guys have convinced me. I'm going with Nashville Spring. They were also recommended to me by the guys at Ultimate Tire, where I have all my vehicles serviced. Thanks, fellas.
  2. OK, here's what I found out this morning..... Nashville Spring will install a hitch for $263 plus tax. This does not include the ball and extension bar I will have to have to pull the trailer. U-Haul of Franklin will do it for $279 plus tax, which includes the ball and the extension bar ($30 if purchased by themselves). Looks like I'm coming out ahead if I go with U-Haul; I just don't know what kind of job they do. I don't have the time or the inclination to install it myself.
  3. I voted for W both times. Not the best president we've ever had, but not the worst, either. The left HATED him. Not just his policies, but they hated the man. I have no doubt in my mind that he is a true American and loves this country.
  4. Now that the healthcare mandate has been ruled constitutional by the SCOTUS, what else will the gubmit be able to force you to do? What's to stop them from making it illegal to withhold this kind of information from your physician and attaching a "penalty" to it? The government now has the power to force you to comply with just about anything. Don't want an electric car? Tough, pay a tax. Don't want to change your eating habits? Tough, pay a tax. Don't want solar panels on your house? Tough. You get the idea.

  6. From an article dated Sep 16, 2010: Others on the scene did not see it that way. Robert Garcia the reports of police: I was close enough to see this guy’s face, and to see his hands, and to see his body go down. Walking just ten feet in front of Erik Scott, Garcia exited the Costco to see officers with guns drawn. He heard an officer yell: “Put it down! Get down!†Then he claims four shots were fired, and he instantly turned towards the victim: After hearing the shots I see the guy going down. I looked at — I saw his hands. His hands had no gun in it. I looked on the ground because — just, I just did that. I looked down and I didn’t see a gun. I saw what I thought were maybe sunglasses. And a pen. This matches up with several other eyewitness claims that officers William Mosher, Joshua Stark, and Thomas Mendiola fired nearly immediately after shouting conflicting commands at Scott, giving him little or no time to respond. Four other witnesses within 20 feet of the store’s entrance all agree that Scott never brandished a weapon or made a move that could be interpreted as brandishing a weapon. http://pjmedia.com/blog/gunned-down-in-vegas-what-really-happened-to-erik-scott/
  7. What kind did you get and where did you get it?
  8. Beg your pardon? I can't speak for anyone else, but I live here because I CHOOSE to, not because I HAVE to.
  9. I need to have a tow bar installed on my '03 F150. The truck is wired for lights, I just don't have the bar or ball. I'm renting a U-Haul trailer on the 14th to bring some furniture back from Chattanooga. Is U-Haul as good a place as any to have this done, or is there a better place between Nashville and Franklin?
  10. The LVPD wasn't responsible for theirs; in fact, they got away with it.
  11. That wouldn't be considered assault and battery?
  12. If he drew on the police, how do you explain the fact that his weapon was found on the ground still holstered? How do you explain the fact that there were eyewitnesses there who said that he was trying to comply with the commands issued by LEO, despite the additional fact that the commands were conflicting because more than one officer was yelling at him?
  13. Never mind the fact that what you are describing would be aggravated assault.
  14. Too many unanswered questions..... missing evidence...... Costco can't come up with the surveillance video...... conflicting eye witness accounts.... Scott's Kimber Ultra was found on the ground STILL HOLSTERED. I believe that this was a bad shoot, the LVPD knew it, and did what was necessary to cover it up and protect their own.
  15. Doesn't surprise me that they dropped the case. Cover-ups are hard to prove.
  16. Vandalism, however, IS a crime.
  17. Oh, and what "facts" would those be? The ones according to the LVPD? Open your eyes.
  18. That's even better than "messin' with Sasquatch"!
  19. It's not hard to see that some people are so blind that they can't see what really happened here.
  20. Interesting that you referred to him as a "subject".
  21. I really don't care if this was Leonard or not. He CLEARLY knew his rights and the responding LEO could legally do nothing to him. Cops have no right to detain someone without reasonable suspicion. In this case, they clearly had none. Some cops hate it when you know the law and they do not. Public safety issue, my butt.
  22. I know he's making a point, but not everyone should own a firearm. I know people who should never, ever touch one.
  23. While it didn't involve a driver running a red light, back in the 1970s I was hit head on by a drunk driver on a two lane road. My Yamaha 650 was only about 6 weeks old and had barely been broken in. The impact sent me flying all the way over the car and I landed on the pavement behind him. I remember realizing about halfway over the car where I was, and at the last minute I rolled up into a ball before hitting the pavement. Shattered my wrist bones, which deformed that part of my left hand. Also a compression fracture in my back and a puncture wound in my left leg. Totaled both the bike and the car. I was lucky. The ER doc said he had seen people die in less severe accidents. Riding motorcycles is dangerous, and yes, there are a lot of idiots who shouldn't be driving. But I decided it wasn't worth the risk and haven't been back on one since. If you ride, you are at the mercy of drivers like this. And it's worse now than ever with smart phones and other distractions.
