  1. Here's another one: http://nashvilleattorneynow.com/criminal-defense/nashville-criminal-lawyers-explain-self-defense-in-tennessee-when-can-i-use-deadly-force-for-protection/
  2. They wouldn't be for long....
  3. http://116tuttleave....selfdefense.pdf Page 18: “If any less injury than death or great bodily harm is feared or indicated by the circumstances, the plea of self-defense will not be sustained, though the degree of homicide may be reduced. Rippy v. State, 39 Tennessee, 217 (1858).â€. Giving chase after the threat is over is playing cop and it's simply not your job. It can also land you behind bars.
  4. TN law says you can discharge your weapon ONLY if your life is in immediate danger. Two thugs running away from you, even though they are armed, do NOT constitute an imminent threat. Sorry.
  5. Thank you! There are some folks who, for some reason, have real difficulty with that concept.
  6. Hey, you guys who are self-employed, I'm still waiting on my check for not working this week.... could you hurry it up?
  7. I should have been more specific. They were an immediate threat until they started running. He kept shooting at them as they were fleeing. It's only self defense when your life is in danger. When the threat is over, it's over.
  8. I'm willing to bet that's exactly what it is. I won't be wasting my money on it.

    Island giveaway

If you all remember, the little boy who cried wolf had no credibility when the wolf actually showed up, but he DID show up.
  10. IF Mr. Sheen did this out of the goodness of his heart, then good on him for it. However, I can't help but be suspicious of ANYTHING a hollywood actor does under the name of charity.
  11. It goes back to why you carry, and that needs to be decided before you ever strap on a firearm. My choice is for self-protection and protection of my loved ones. However, IF I found myself in this situation where I was the first responder, and I was certain the woman was going to lose her life if I did not intervene, then I would do so ONLY if I had a clear shot.
  12. Good thing he didn't hurt or kill one of them or any innocent bystanders or he most likely would be facing charges.
  13. His publicist probably talked him into it. He still has no class.
  14. I started to post this story early this morning, but didn't want to give anyone the impression that I'm a cop basher. I'm having a hard time understanding how a police officer can knock on or break down your door - unannounced and unidentified - in the wee hours of the morning when you are probably not completely awake enough to know what's going on, and in defense of your home and family, you arm yourself to answer the door, and you pay with your life. Something is seriously wrong here.
  15. Oppressive dry heat.... oppressive humidity..... hmmmmmmm, let's see......
  16. They can ask, and you can refuse. There is no law requiring someone to have an ID on them if they are not operating a motor vehicle.
  17. I'm not ready to swallow the lies of the GOP just yet. I may when November gets here, but until then, I'm leaving my options open. I haven't ruled out not voting at all.
  18. I think what is offensive about your incessant repetition is that you don't seem to think that anyone understands the gravity of the situation but you. I think we all appreciate how bad another four years with Barry at the helm would be. Frankly, I haven't made up my mind yet, but I resent having Romney as my ONLY option. If he's the best that the GOP can produce, then maybe another 4 years of Obama would wake them up. I think you're a pretty smart guy, Robert, but understand that the rest of us aren't dummies.
  19. Sorry, I didn't give enough information. Seems the problem is if the slide is knocked out of battery, it doesn't return on its own, at least for this user.
  20. You and I are on the same page there.... tailgaters are my #1 pet peeve, whether on the interstate or driving through town or a park. I slow down too just to see their eyes turn red. Good job!!
  21. I have to say that I think TWD is the best show on TV right now and it looks like season 3 is going to raise the bar.
