  1. I'll get mine in a couple of weeks. Employer provides it free. I've never gotten sick after getting one.
  2. I honestly don't understand why anyone watches so-called "professional" sports anymore.
  3. Next time someone tells you that the average citizen couldn't pass a police qualification course, show them this video:
  4. Unless you can prove that was his intent, how is that different from any other non-classifieds post? Besides, if I want to see what's for sale, I can go directly to the classifieds.
  5. They should have two programs going for history majors: 1. History as it actually happened 2. History that blames southern white America for everything bad that happened
  6. It's one thing for antis to falsely claim that law-abiding citizens who carry would only increase the carnage should a wacko start shooting indiscriminately, but this is just sheer stupidity.
  7. I understand your viewpoint as a forum administrator. I was referring to the ones who like to pile on and take their shot at him.
  8. Congratulations on passing your HCP class. Both the class and the range qualification are prerequisites to getting your HCP. Looks like you did a great job qualifying with your weapon. Welcome to the community of law-abiding citizens who have chosen to accept the responsibility for their own safety and that of their families.
  9. I really don't get why ArmyVet's videos bother anyone from a political standpoint. If I don't want to read someone's posts or enter a thread started by someone I know I'm going to strongly disagree with, I just don't click on the link. It's that simple. Seems like too many people get their jollies taking pot shots at others, not unlike a mob mentality.
  10. Yesterday I attended the funeral of one of my very best friends. It's because of him that I have the interest in firearms and Second Amendment issues that I do, and saying goodbye to him has been more difficult than I imagined. He was like a brother to me, and he had a positive impact on many, many people. He was the embodiment of a servant leader, and would do anything for anyone if they had the need. We went to many gun shows together, went shooting together, and he and his wife were in our home many times and we were in theirs. We ate together, traveled together, we even ran into each other at Sam's Club many times and would go get something to eat together on the spur of the moment. I have a couple of knives that I bought from him and was considering selling; now I wouldn't take anything for them. In addition to being a good friend, he was a father, husband, and grandfather. He loved guns and shooting, cooking, and remodeling homes. He was a Christian, so my faith gives me comfort in that his leaving us is not the end and that I will see him again one day. But until that time, I grieve for his family, and I feel an overwhelming loss at his passing. Yesterday was extremely difficult and emotional. Rest in peace, John. You will be missed.
  11. That's it; anyone who wants to educate themselves on this subject or any other has unlimited information at their fingertips. Hopefully they have the intelligence to discern what is factual and what isn't, but the information is there if they are willing to put in the time to research it. People are finding out just how incompetent and lazy the mainstream news sources really are.
  12. I have both the M&P 9c and 45c. Both triggers were perfect out of the box. I've never had anything done to them. The 45 is my EDC.
  13. Interesting article... Instead of the image of the white male father dressed in flannel taking his son off to the woods for the traditional deer hunt, the new image of gun ownership is much broader and more diverse. The members of the 2.0 gun culture are more likely to own an AR15 with a suppressor than a Winchester Model 70. And, you can rest assured that a new gen gun owner is likely to be carrying a Glock or KelTec when you run into them at the local coffee shop. http://www.humanevents.com/2012/09/21/the-new-gun-culture/
  14. It's interesting to me that those who are left-leaning are convinced that this is the case, however, they will ridicule those of us who carry for "living in fear" of the boogie man waiting around every corner.
  15. Come on now fellas, don't be like Gail Kerr and the rest of the media when the TN legislature was trying to get the restaurant carry bill passed into law. "Blood in the streets!!!" "Shootouts in bars!!!!". Ain't nothing gonna happen.
  16. Carrying a full size weapon in the very best holster you can buy will be difficult without a good, thick, strong belt. I consider them inseparable.
  17. My first taste of this kind of thing was when I took my then 9 yr old son rollerblading in a local park. Seeing as how we weren't speed skating or anything, I let him skate with no helmet, and I did the same. We met two women walking the other direction on the path, and one of them looked at my son and said in a real disgusted tone "Where's your helmet?". He looked at her and said "It's in the car". She retorted, "Well, you need to be wearing it!!" while giving me a particularly nasty stare. I just stared back at her and said "You know, some people should learn how to mind their own business". They walked off in a huff. I guess I'm just lucky that she didn't call the police or child protective services. She was probably a liberal democrat to boot.
  18. I'm really surprised at the cops who actually arrested her. Another example of how our legislators have made just about everyone a criminal with insane laws. I hope she wins her lawsuit. http://www.wptv.com/...ngerment-arrest
  19. Thanks for all the recommendations!
  20. Wonder what would happen if someone "artistically interpreted" the American flag with an image or representation of Romney?
  21. Are you talking about the Remora? I have two of those and they work quite well.
  22. My dad carried a loaded Colt Commando 2" in his car for about 40 years in Polk County without a permit. Knowing the local magistrate well didn't hurt any.
  23. On Monday, I reserved two hotel rooms (4 people) in Ft Walton Beach for 4 nights in October. Both rooms have an ocean view with balconies. I was hoping that some of you have spent some time there and that you'd share some of your favorite restaurants as well as some of your favorite things to do in the area.
