  1. I was born at the old Kimsey-Guinn hospital in Ducktown and raised in the Copper Basin. Grew up with a view of Big Frog Mountain out my window. It's one of those places that seems stuck in time, and I mean that in a good way.
  2. I hope the Patriot Guard Riders are aware of this.
  3. Just because you may not like that statistic doesn't mean that it's not significant and/or relevant.
  4. For light duty tasks, it's been great so far. Opens smoothly and is very comfortable in the hand.
  5. You handled it much better than I would have. I'd have told him that I didn't know him and that whatever I was doing was none of his business and walked away. Had he followed me and continued his tirade I would have told him that if he didn't shut up and stop scaring my children that I would call the police and press charges against him for harassment.
  6. I'm too lazy to take photos of it all, but here's what I have that was passed down to me from my dad: 1966 T Series Browning Hi Power Govt issued WWII Colt Commando Revolver w/2" barrel Ithaca 12 ga pump Ithaca 16 ga pump Winchester Model 1906 pump action .22 lr Texas Ranger Commemorative S&W Model 19 w/Bowie knife in wooden embossed display case These were given to me by my dad when I was a kid and I still have them: Winchester Model 67 bolt action .22 lr Sears 101.7 double barrel .410 shotgun
  7. If you have the right carry system, it's no more difficult to carry than anything else.
  8. Right now I'm carrying my 9c OWB in a leather pancake holster on a 1.5" wide leather gun belt with two extra mags on the weak side OWB as well. I have just a shirt on over them and you cannot tell that I am carrying. Since I bought my last two Bullhide Belts I don't see the need to ever carry IWB again.
  9. I'm pretty sure that's the kind of information that Dad would have shared with me, so I don't believe they are the same person.
  10. I have one of the Remora clipless IWB holsters for my 9c and it works great. Crossbreed Supertuck and Galco King Tuk would also be good choices, or something from D.M. Bullard.
  11. And here I thought the whole point of carrying pocket pistols was to carry them IN THE POCKET! What was I thinking???
  12. THIS. Stupid should hurt.
  13. There are statistics that prove those of us with permits to be more law-abiding than the average citizen. Not individually, but as a group. With that in mind, it seems to me that the risk of being shot by a law-abiding permit holder are far lower than being shot or attacked by the average citizen. I'm sorry, but I just don't buy the story that disarming someone with an HCP is for the officer's safety. Not at all.
  14. Oh, I believe there's more than just one of us who would be pleased as punch to start a new topic...
  15. On the same vein, what are the circumstances that justify a "reasonable" belief that disarming someone who is legally carrying a firearm is in the best interest of the permit holder, the officer, or others involved in the stop?
  16. Thanks for the information guys.... I appreciate it!
  17. What is this downloadable handgun that you speak of and how do I do that?

    VEEP debate

This is what I'm counting on. Crazy Joe is acting like a middle schooler with his immature behavior.
  19. This weekend I'll be getting 4 boxes of old Zane Grey novels, many of which are first editions and I believe are in good condition. Does anyone know any book collectors in the Middle Tennessee area who might be interested in some of them?
  20. Picked this up recently - limited edition Tanto Zing designed by RJ Martin: Blade length is just about perfect for me at 3". Weight is just over 3 oz. 14c28n Sandvik steel blade. Scales are glass filled nylon that feel like G10. Came razor sharp. Flipper design with the same ramped thumb studs as the Blur. It hasn't left my pocket since I got it about a week or so ago.
