Disarmed in a traffic stop
daddyo replied to tennessee01tacoma's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Said it before and I'll say it again - LEOs disarming citizens who have given them no reason to think they are murderers just so they can "feel safe" is not about safety at all... it's about power and control. -
Ordered. Thanks for posting.
My pleasure. I've been wanting one for a long time.

Just wanted to let you fellow knife nuts know that Cabela's is selling this discontinued model for only $39.99 + shipping. SRP was $129.99. If you've wanted one, but didn't want to pay the $65-$80 street price, now is your chance. I just ordered mine. Really like this guy's perspective. It's one you will never hear in the MSM and one I believe is shared by many blacks.

I'm really disappointed that no one has been along yet to tell us that "there has to be more to this story than what's been reported".

A Short Tweet exchange between Pierce Morgan and Carol Roth
daddyo replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
If Piers is going to engage in a battle of wits, maybe next time he should come armed, but he probably should avoid doing so with people who are his intellectual superior, like Ms. Roth. You go, girl! -
I sent AZ an email this morning telling them I would be spending my money with their competitors from now on. Like they give a rat's hiney.

I've never heard Mr. Whittle say anything that I disagreed with.
Customers pay the bills and employees increase the liability.
Interesting. That suggests that business owners are more trusting of people they probably don't know as well as their employees.

I've always been baffled at company policies that forbid employees from carrying while allowing customers and guests to.

Someone needs to open up a can on that asshat employee.... because stupid should hurt.

I'm a fat guy - 5' 10" and 220 lbs. I used to carry IWB exclusively before I got myself a couple of high quality gun belts. I still carry concealed, except now it's OWB for me. Soooooo much more comfortable and I can conceal OWB just as well as I could IWB. In fact, I don't see the need to ever carry IWB again.

I really like this little 9mm. Almost exactly the same size as the M&P9c:

Arming children with the facts about guns

TDR, as a former scouter and father of an eagle scout, thank you for supporting the BSA. We sold lots of trees during our time in scouting.

Taking the girlfriend on a trip to chicago.. SD question
daddyo replied to kesava's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
You started out thinking I was making an argument and now follow up with name calling and assumptions. It's ironic that you question my comprehension skills. I wonder if my original reply could be taken differently than the way you took it. I wonder if my original comment could be taken as one data point in a larger conversation. I know I value all points when I make a decision. If I wanted but one opinion I would just as soon look to my own. I go to the Internet to get multiple viewpoints and try to take all the info to form a view of a topic. Being that I'm so stupid, it takes me longer than others to form an opinion. I often read things two or three times due to my low comprehension. My cross to bare, I suppose.
Apparently you can't tell when someone is calling you a name and when they are just calling out your behavior. There is a difference. But, if you want to think I called you a name, go right ahead, chief. I don't care. -
For the same reason that when someone does something either incredibly stupid or incredibly amazing, the headline will say they are a military veteran; they are trying to make a point. Just like you are trying to make a point.
In case you didn't notice, I'm trying to give him credit for doing it outside his capacity as an LEO. I would call that a humanitarian.
-
Leo`s have a bad name and mostly thought of as heartless ,pompous, jerks who dont give a crapp about others..
Really? Who thinks that? I still don't understand what being a cop has to do with him helping a homeless man. How do we know he didn't do it because he's a compassionate human being?
-
Did you just hear that big "whooosh" flying over your head?
Thanks for trying to imply that I'm dense, but that didn't answer my question.

Taking the girlfriend on a trip to chicago.. SD question
daddyo replied to kesava's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Gosh, I guess I'll just cower in my house until I die, then. Wait, no I won't. When I die, whether it be from old age or from physical harm from another, I will have lived a rich life from travel, family and awesome personal experience. Big boy vacations for big boys. Man up, it's more fun.
Spoken with all the confidence that comes from ignorance (and lack of comprehension). Don't be stupid. I never said to stay inside, or not to take risks, but saying "it's never happened to me, therefore it never will" and giving that advice to others is simply irresponsible.
