Groupon New Policy: No Gun Ranges or Training
daddyo replied to creeky's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
So, they don't allow any gun safety training? Gee, don't they care about the children? -
I grew up in that area and have been down the river many times. It's a lot of fun. You'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner. Just wear a swimsuit, t shirt , and either watershoes or some sneakers that you don't mind getting wet. I also like to wear a ball cap under the helmet to help keep the sun out of my eyes. And don't forget sunscreen. Which outfitter are you going with?

It's frightening to me that people with the influence that Mitchell has actually believe that it's OK for the government to limit the rights of the people, when it's very clear to anyone who halfway paid attention in history class and who has a brain that the original intent of the Constitution and the Bill of rights was to limit the power of the federal government.

Man, I just gotta say that these idiots are really starting to piss me off. -
Damn these people. I've had it with their sanctimony and their general nitwittery. That is one of the most inane and insulting things that anyone has come up with during this whole "debate". I hope it goes down in flames.

She kept trying to redirect the conversation when she got an answer she didn't like. This is what these people do - they have talking points that they trot out, trying to throw us off balance, when they are given a sensible answer. They simply are parrots who can't think for themselves. They rely on emotion and hyperbole because they have no facts or evidence to support their ridiculous notions.

Here's the actual list of Obama's Executive Orders
daddyo replied to 1gewehr's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
If anyone had doubts about Obama lacking the courage of his convictions, this should seal the deal. Not only is he a liar, but a coward as well. -
Waiting for the gun hating media to rip him apart for not banning AW and "high capacity magazines" via EO. Oh, wait.....

Who knows how to lessen the retention on a Kydex holster?
daddyo replied to daddyo's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Neither did I, but guess what? I figured it couldn't hurt, so I doubled a plastic grocery sack, put it over the gun, and left it in the holster overnight. When I took it out this morning, I could tell a big difference. I'd still like to see if I can heat it up just a tad and try to loosen it up just a little more. -
When I was about 13, my brother and I were home with the housekeeper one winter's day. Mom was at the grocery and Dad was at work. Now, Dad had a gun cabinet in the den, and more often than not, it was unlocked. He had taught my brother and me how to handle a gun - never point it at anything you aren't willing to destroy - and I guess he trusted us to be smart about it and not touch them. Thankfully I was old enough to understand that. Well, we were bored that day, and I got stupid and I got the bright idea to play cops and robbers with real guns. So, I went to the cabinet and got out one of his shotguns. I was pointing it at the ceiling, pulled the trigger, and BLAM!!!! He had bird shot l in the chamber. It penetrated the acoustical tile, and all of a sudden water started dripping (there was melting snow on the roof). I thought my life was over at that point, but Dad was so glad that neither one of us were injured or worse that he just gave me a mild scolding. After that, he kept a chain locked through all the trigger guards and then kept the cabinet locked.

Kentucky sheriff pledges to defy Obama on guns
daddyo replied to Oh Shoot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Found the video on The Truth About Guns website. Passed it and an article about Sheriff Peyman on to Williamson County Sheriff Jeff Long and told him that I hope he is of like mind. -
Bill Palmer is an azzhat. :pleased:

Dave, if you'll read his post again, you can see that he was referring only to hunters who post "You don't need an AR15 to hunt" and say it publicly. He was not talking about ALL hunters.

Adam Lanza took his mother's weapons after he killed her. He completely bypassed the current background check system.
-
 I am on board with the whole "need" thing, however. The left is so proud of their ability to "think for themselves", yet how many times have you heard the "Why do you need an AR-15?" argument? I'm to the point that if I hear it again, I'm going to stick needles in my eyes. The gun haters are like a bunch of parrots.

As one who does not believe that I should have to have the government's permission to have and/or carry a firearm, I disagree with the notion that background checks are a crime deterrent. Criminals who want guns will get them regardless of any type of required background check, so a system that requires the average law-abiding citizen to obtain the state and/or Feds' permission is simply a waste of time and money. It surely does provide the gubmit with some good revenue, however.
