I have plenty at the moment, but I'm probably overly cautious about using it right now. Don't know how long the current situation will last or if there are things coming down the pike that will make it even worse.

Universal background checks = gun registration -
I hope you did more than just feed it to them. I hope you rammed it down their throats.

This is my dad's Colt Commando that he was issued at the close of WWII. He carried it all through his adult life, and when he got sick and he and Mom moved into an independent living complex, he gave it to me. I'll hand it down to my son one day. I've never shot it, and would like to find some replacement grips. You can see that the right side has a piece missing. Just wanted to show it to you. Been thinking of doing this myself. I'm tired of Comcast anyway. Who has the best deal in the Middle TN area? -

The very fact that this nincompoop is next in line for the presidency if something happens to Obama scares the :poop: out of me. -
Part of it may be due to how men and women are portrayed in advertising and in the media. White men are just idiots who couldn't find our butts with both hands and therefore can't put a string of words together to form a coherent sentence, while women are omniscient and omnipotent.

Now he's gone even further, stating that we are guilty of corruption. If that isn't the pot calling the kettle black I don't know what is. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/feb/18/chicago-police-chief-second-amendment-supporters-g/ I've never heard of this nitwit till today and I'm already tired of his idiocy. Hey, Goober - come and take 'em.

EXCELLENT story. I am also applauding you as I write this. When my son was younger, he and I used to love inline skating. I would take him to the park and we would have a great time, making sure to wear safety gear. One day we went to a local park that had a paved track, and he asked me if he had to wear his helmet since he saw several others without them. SInce his skill level was advanced, I said OK, as long as he wasn't trying fancy tricks and showing off. We happened to pass two ladies who were walking the other direction, and one of them glowered at him and said in a really nasty voice "WHERE'S YOUR HELMET???", to which he calmly said "It's in the car". Then she gave me a particularly nasty look, and said "HE NEEDS A HELMET!!". I just stared at her and said "You should really mind your own business". She walked off in a huff with her companion and I just smiled at my son, and he smiled back at me, and we enjoyed the rest of our day.

I agree that this is tragic, but at the end of the day, she is the one who pulled the trigger and therefore she alone is responsible. I wonder how long it will take for the gun grabbers to latch onto this and start dancing in her blood too? Can't you just hear it? "This just proves that you are a gazillion more times likely to off yourself if you have a gun in the home".

Interesting perspective on whether or not it is productive to engage the gun-grabbers online (or arguing with anyone on the internet in general): http://gunnuts.net/2013/02/15/is-talking-to-anti-gun-people-a-waste-of-time/

I agree that they should be, I just have no faith that they would be. I'm sorry, but my distrust of government extends to law enforcement. It has been my experience that the vast majority of government employees don't give a rat's hiney about the law-abiding citizen. It is very plain that many of them hold us in the same regard as they do cockroaches.

I grew up in a time when college and professional athletes were worthy of admiration and respect. They embodied excellence, hard work, and perseverance. They were role models for youth and deservedly so. Not so today. While there are a few, they seem to be the exception now rather than the norm. And when someone like Tim Tebow comes along, a man who lives his Christian convictions, what does he get from the media and football fans? Scorn and ridicule. I was truly embarrassed for him when he was taking all the abuse that the lowlifes were dishing out. Then look at someone like Chris Dorner, who is being presented as some kind of hero by the unhinged left media. What's going on in organized sports today is merely a reflection of what we value as a society. The confusion of the masses is great.

Depends on how much you use your knives and what you use them for. 8Cr13MoV and Sandvik 14c28n seem to work fine for what I need them for, but I'm not hard on my blades, so I find it hard to justify spending big bucks on the higher end knives. I find the Sandvik to be a good medium between edge retention and ease of sharpening. I have others made with S30V and 154cm, but it's probably more than I really need. I just like having a few with better quality steel.
