  1.   OK, well, I'm not sure what needs to be said other than I was raised to believe that homosexuality is abnormal and is not part of God's plan. Even after extensive thought and reading and talking to others about the subject, I have not seen, heard, or read anything that would warrant me changing my beliefs about it.   Even from only a biological standpoint, it's very obvious that the two sexes were created for a reason. IF homosexuality is innate, and I simply don't buy the hypothesis that it is, I believe it must be a genetic mutation. A man living in a woman's body or vice versa is simply incomprehensible to me.   There are people who have walked away from the homosexual lifestyle and gone on to live productive, normal lives, even raising families and being much happier for it.   Just a few of the reasons why I don't believe the impact that homosexuals are having on society is a good thing and is really all I have to say about it for now. I'm not going down the rabbit hole of why I believe the way I do. You aren't going to change my mind and I'm not going to change yours, nor do I have any desire to spend the time trying.   As far as people living their lives the way they want to, I'm all for it. But it rubs my rhubarb when laws and rules are made that take society in what I consider to be the wrong direction.
  2.   I really don't think I need to, do you?
  3.   I don't believe they would kick someone out because they didn't like girls. If I were a parent and my son came home and said another boy made a pass at him, I would be on the phone with the scoutmaster.   Just like in the military, it has no place in the Boy Scouts.
  4.   You're absolutely correct - it was about membership and funding and not about the program. However, if the local councils have autonomy, then those like the Middle TN Council will tell National where they can stick it.   We are living in evil times.
  5. Ah, so you would be ok with the majority voting in favor of something that you are against, say, univeral background checks? Or maybe even Barack Obama as President?   Mob rule is never a good thing. And I disagree - the gay lobby is fundamentally changing society, step by step, and not in a good way.
  6. Di you expect the "religious" to merely roll over and take it up the derrière, so to speak?
  7. Makes sense that manufacturers would want you to go longer between oil changes, possibly reducing the life of your vehicle. Those who do oil change for a living would benefit from shorter intervals. As a consumer, it seems like somewhere in the middle is reasonable.
  8. If that's the case, then you should have a real problem with the gay lobby, who is infiltrating every aspect of society and demanding that everyone accept them and approve of their behavior, regardless of the beliefs of those they demand acceptance from, and many times labeling those beliefs as bigoted and intolerant, even going so far as to demonize and vilify anyone who doesn't accept their lifestyle. Seems like a glaring double standard to me. Why is it ok for gays to force what they believe down my throat, but not ok for Christians to speak what they believe to be the truth?
  9. I LOVE how some people try to make you feel guilty and that there's something wrong with you if you don't fully accept homosexuals trying to normalize their behavior.   What's next? Churches losing their tax exempt status because they don't adopt a "non-discrimination" policy that is completely antithetical to their belief system?   Why are we being forced to change what we believe? How does forced acceptance have any element whatsoever of "fairness"?

    Obama the first

Actually, he's the first biracial president. We don't have a "first" black president yet, unless you count Bill Clinton.
  11. The issue is much bigger than sexual preference. It's about a private organization giving in to pressure from a minority group and making a major change in its membership requirements, which could have a disastrous effect on the entire organization.   I've never understood why those who want a scouting program with a different moral code don't just go start their own organization.
  12. This has been in the news lately:   http://newsbusters.org/blogs/jeffrey-meyer/2013/05/23/msnbc-s-chris-hayes-hypes-lgbt-injustice-during-interview-18-year-old   A good example of why allowing gays (boys and/or adults) in Boy Scouts is just going to complicate things.   I was a registered leader for 10 years. Boy Scout troops have enough problems without opening membership to gays.
  13. Navy blue 1968 Ford Fairlane Coupe. It was only a six, but I loved that car. Nice lip under the metal dash for hiding stuff.
  14. This will be my first one. Heading down on Saturday and picking up my brother in Kennesaw. Can't wait!
  15. I was at Five Guys one day last week and saw someone who was carrying OWB with a tight fitting knit shirt pulled halfway down over his rig. While people have the right to carry the way they choose, I'd rather see someone carry openly than make a half assed attempt at concealment.
  16.   Last month at the Nashville Flea Market, there was a guy selling Kershaws and CRKTs. He was selling Cryos for $30. Kershaw Guy had them not too long ago for $25 just to thin out some of his inventory, but he has since gone back up to $32.
  17. The last two RK shows at the Williamson Co Ag Center were enough for me to lose interest in gun shows altogether.
  18.
  19. Just a heads up... BladeHQ has the Lahar for 44.95. It is a discontinued model that is becoming harder to find. I've been seeing them go on Ebay for over $100. Pretty good price for a 3.5" blade in VG10 steel. Mine came yesterday and I am very pleased with it and thrilled to add it to my collection. Someone on Bladeforums called it the ZT's granddaddy, which is a pretty good description. 20. Oh, we'd need to see pics of that!
  21. Auto mechanics is something I wish I had learned, but I never took the time. I'd like to be able to not only work on my car, but to restore classic cars as well.
  22. Benchmade makes an excellent product, as does Spyderco and Kershaw.   I wouldn't lock myself in to one brand/model. Do some shopping and see if you still come back to the Benchmade. If you do, then buy it.
  23. To me, a big knife is anything I can't carry comfortably in my pocket.
  24. As I get older, my acrophobia gets progressively worse. Rides I used to be able to get on when I was younger terrify me now.
  25. I didn't look through them all, but was actually pleasantly surprised to see Tebow on the list.
