It's only "forcing" or "indoctrination" when it involves anything related to evangelical Christianity. But when gays or any other group do the same thing, then all they're doing is "exercising their rights". Go figure. PC is killing our society.

I never said I surveyed them all. You're assuming that the survey was representative of the majority of families, many of whom were never asked to be a part of the survey. But somehow I believe if the results had fallen the other way, you would have questioned them. This just shows that any survey can be manipulated to achieve the desired results. I am basing my opinion on my own experience as a leader and from talking to many people who were also directly involved at the unit, district, and council levels. I wasn't able to find a single person who was in favor of changing the membership policy.

Membership policies served the scouts and its families well up to this point. Don't forget that the vast majority of those families had no problem with the policy as it stood before the change. It was reversed to placate a minority that many people is much larger because they scream really, really loudly.   Just another great example of the tyranny of the minority.

I feel ya, man. Had the knee surgery about 4 years ago. No problems with it now.   Besides insomnia, high BP and losing my hair and shrinking in height, life is great!

  This issue is based on ideology, which is the reason that it stirs such deep emotions in all of us.   Liberals and Conservatives and Libertarians don't agree on anything because when it comes down to a difference in ideology, no one is willing to budge or give an inch. That's why our representatives can't get anything done.   I'm not sure there is a solution, only one side winning and one side losing.
