  1. Some of these folks are finding out that some employers aren't as excited about tats as they are. The place I work for requires you to cover them up when you're in the workplace or out representing the company.   I have a friend who has to wear long sleeve shirts in the summer....
  2.   Some qualifiers might help. Did they offer any?
  3. But tattoos make you stand out from the crowd, don't they?   Oh, wait...
  4. The role of a police officer does not entail dishing out punishment, which is apparently what this officer was trying to do in the form of an illegal search. He simply got mad because someone chose not to comply with what he perceived to be an unconstitutional (and therefore illegal) detainment.   Whether or not the kid was acting like a jerk (even though I'm puzzled as to how asking a series of questions about whether or not what is being asked is required is "being a jerk") is no justification for the officer acting like a billy badass.   Dishing out punishment is the court's job.
  5.   Oh, and you've hit every single proverbial nail squarely on the head.
  6.   Leroy, for some reason unbeknownst to me, it seems to drive the left crazy when they can't make us like their behavior. That's when things start getting ugly.
  7. I don't know about anyone else, but when someone starts demanding that I do something (especially something I don't have to do), and especially when they have no authority to do so, I have this tendency to dig my heels in and be 100% uncooperative.   It then becomes not a matter of "can't", but "won't".   So the more someone "demands" that I answer questions or do anything else, they'll get diddly squat.
  8. Nice photos! Thanks for sharing them!
  9. Yeah, it doesn't work with all Speedsafe models. I tried it with the Random Task II and promptly reinstalled the torsion bar because there was no detent. But a deassisted Blur is the bee's knees.
  10. Anyway.....   What are some good alternatives to Youtube?
  11. OK, now that that's settled....
  12. Leroy, you are a wise man.
  13.   Sorry, you'll need to be more specific.    And is that an order? LOL.
  14. I removed the torsion bars from all three of my Blurs. I think it works much better as a manual opener.
  15.   Ignorance of what?
  16.   It still was no excuse for the cop to act like an asshat. The kid wasn't exhibiting threatening behavior; he was reacting to his perception of his rights being violated.   Very unprofessional behavior on the part of the LEO IMO.
  17.   I think it was mainly due to the boy's age. The officer might have acted differently had it been someone more mature.
  18. When it comes to my constitutional rights, I'm not overly concerned about an officer's emotions. If he can't keep them in check and be respectful of a citizen's rights, then he has no business wearing the uniform. My rights trump his feelings all day long.
  19. I'd really like to get a lawyer's opinion on this from a constitutional perspective. Any takers?
  20. Was he in violation of an ordinance?
  21. Just wondering... where was the reasonable suspicion?
  22. So, been reading Alinsky, have you?
  23. So they say.
  24. I'm referring to changes in the law that could result at some point in the future. We all know that the most extreme in the movement want nothing less but complete acceptance. So, if the basic idea of a theocracy is forcing others to live according to someone else's beliefs, then I'm not seeing much difference between that scenario and a theocracy.
