1. Similar to the Safepacker, but more elegant and more suitable for dress. The Safepacker uses a heavy duty plastic buckle to stay closed, but I can't get an idea of how this one works.   Looks nice. I'd be curious how it works in actual practical application.
2. I've always loved the sound of thunder accompanied by rain. Growing up in the foothills of the Smokies, I used to sit outside on my parents' covered patio and watch the thunderclouds roll over the mountains and marvel at the majesty of nature.

4. I poured kerosene down the hole last night. Today I see no sign of them.   But, just to be sure, I'm going to crank up the push mower and push it over the hole, then stand back and watch to see if anything happens.
5. What I thought were wasps hitting me last week were actually yellow jackets. The exterminator came out last week and he did find a wasps nest up behind the rain gutter. I thought the problem was solved until yesterday.   I found the nest in the ground after I went over it again with the mower and got stung AGAIN - multiple times. I woke up this morning to see my right hand swollen up like a small grapefruit.   I sprayed wasp and hornet spray down into the hole last evening, but I don't know if that's going to do the job or not. Should I call the exterminator or just go get some spray that is intended specifically for yellow jackets and hit 'em again tonight after they go to sleep?
6. Pork sausage patty on a cathead biscuit with scrambled eggs. Cup of Eight O'clock coffee - that's what I'm having.

9. Spare tire is like carrying a firearm.   I'd rather have one and not need it.... you know the rest.
10. Sincere condolences, Murgatroy. Very sorry to hear.
11. Can you say "extreme overreaction"? Good God Almighty...
12.   I didn't get mad about it; I just went and did it myself.   Faster than waiting for someone to come do it anyway, and I probably did a better job.
13. Nice, Mike. I have the smaller Ripple 2: They are addictive little flippers!
14.   Are you kidding me? That wouldn't even enter someone's mind?
15. I couldn't watch the video.   My son has diabetes, and I'm really not sure I could control myself if an LEO did something like this to him.
16. I'm getting really tired of SYG being painted as some sort of "license" for whites to kill blacks. What a HUGE lie.   It's infuriating.

Wasps!

I was mowing the front yard yesterday afternoon when I apparently got too close to a wasp's nest that I didn't know was there. I don't know if it was one or several, but I got stung several times on my legs. Had to pull the stinger out after one of them had lost it. Man, those things hurt! At first I didn't know what was going on, but it didn't take long to figure it out.   I'm not allergic, but the pain was enough to keep me up most of the night, so I'm staying home today to take it easy. The pain has subsided somewhat, but I never knew those little buggers could put the hurt on you like that.   Guess I'm going to have to work on my situational awareness.
18. Several years ago there was a dead cat in the road where my driveway ends. I called animal control and they said they don't handle anything that small. In other words, if it doesn't block the road, they don't get involved.   And I pay taxes why?   I took a shovel and carried it onto the back forty where I buried it.
