  2. Ninja mode? Willfully seeking a gunfight just because one chooses to defend their family? The vast majority of people successfully defending themselves by tactical advantage in a home invasion situation totally debunks your thinking. Foolish mentality? What's hard to understand that by making any noise that you just gave away your position? And to actually think that they will be scared away by the sound of you racking one into the chamber is simply foolhardy. That's like thinking that someone will be scared off at the sight of your weapon if you draw in SD. It may happen; it may not, but to count on it is what's foolish. Once again, tactical advantage has has been proven to be successful in multiple home invasion cases. Ask any firearms instructor who teaches home invasion SD tactics. This I agree with you on; make your stand and wait for them to come to you, but to give away your position is simply stupid. But at the end of the day, I'm only responsible for me and mine.
  3. Well, you asked for feedback... There is no way I would trade a G26 for any .380. The G26 is a far more effective carry weapon, hands down. Yes, if you make this trade you have lost your mind IMO.
  4. If you can find Federal HST's, buy them.
  5. Here's my question: Most people carry their reload on their weak side. I take it you have practiced reloading from the strong side. Can you reload as fast as if you carried the extra mag weak side and can you do it without switching hands?
  6. Very nice collection.
  7. I can carry a BHP in a Crossbreed Supertuck wearing nothing but a pair of shorts and an Aloha or camp shirt or some other type of untucked overshirt. If you are willing to modify the way you dress so that you can dress around the gun, summer carry is really no more difficult than carrying in the other three seasons.
  8. I'm not trying to start anything; I'm asking a simple question based on my own limited knowledge and experience. I carry a 9mm, so I have complete confidence in a good 9mm round to do the job, but I don't think for a minute that it's only going to take one shot to defend myself and to promote this kind of thinking to people who may not know any better is simply irresponsible. This is true for any caliber. Seriously, anyone who is counting on ANY caliber to provide a one-shot stop is simply watching too many cop shows on TV.
  9. I have yet to see the 9mm round that can do that, either +P or standard pressure. Do you have ballistic data to back that up? Because if there is a round that can deliver a 1-stop shot I'd like to know about it!
  10. Just ain't worth the risk...
  11. How much or how little they know doesn't bother me, but when they obviously don't know what they're talking about AND they act like a total jerk about it to boot, that's when I take my money somewhere else.
  12. Personal preference, mainly. They don't have anything I want that I can't get at a better price somewhere else. Oh, and one of the the guys behind the gun counter is an asshat. Just my opinion based on my own personal experience.
  13. Just one more reason for me to despise Bass Pro Shop...
  14. I do too. Would love to have a custom 1911.
  15. Think I'd be suspicious of anyone calling himself "Captain Chris". Sounds like the host of a Saturday morning kid's show.

I have one of those and love it. Well done. Make sure you get some quality JHPs to carry in it.
  17. Any quality 158 gr round would be good for SD. I always go heavy.
  18. My EDC is an original series stainless Ultra Carry that I traded a rifle for at a show about two years ago. I have not had a single failure with it. I'm not sure that I would pay $2K for a Kimber. For that kind of dough I think I would be looking at some kind of custom 1911 and probably a commander or government model.
  19. I bought my Supertuck from a member of another forum at a greatly reduced price.
  20. Well, depends on your definition of "better". As much as I like my ST, I've heard that you can't beat a custom leather holster. I would love to try a Milt Sparks or TT Gunleather just to see if they're as good as people say they are. I just have trouble parting with that much cash right now.
  21. Absolutely. "Your carry gun should be comforting, not comfortable.†- Clint Smith, Thunder Ranch
  22. Well, some would say that it's not worth that anyway...
  23. No, didn't miss that. Just giving my two cents. Are we not allowed to give opinions and observations after the purchase is made? The Sigma is a good choice, BTW.
  24. I carry my Kimber Ultra Carry in a Supertuck. Very comfortable and well-made.
  25. Never owned a Taurus, but have heard more negative about their semi-autos than positive. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of their wheelguns though, if I found a good deal on one.
