  1. Apparently, I'm not going to the right places. I NEVER get to see anyone OCing...
  2. Carrying a firearm without a holster (belt, IWB or pocket) is plain stupid IMO. Always keep the trigger protected. Otherwise you are an accident waiting to happen.
  3. 1966 Browning Hi Power Ruger SP101
  4. BTW, does so-called "separation of church and state" apply only to non-liberals?
  5. Nothing some duct tape across the mouth wouldn't fix...
  6. Joined! Thanks for creating it!!
  7. Handguns: 9mm, .45 ACP, .357, .38, .22 LR Long guns: .30-30, .22 WMR, .22 LR, 12 ga, 16 ga.
  8. These are the same people that try to argue that you can't "legislate morality", but they are trying their damnedest to do just that.
  9. Not to mention pencils, chairs, and other objects that can be used as weapons. After all, it's all about "the children", right?
  10. I have not even scratched the surface on Vai's work. I honestly had not heard of him until a friend sent me this link: Now I'm hooked. I found Satriani on Pandora after creating a channel built mainly on Vai's tunes. Through all of this I also discovered the lovely and talented Miss Anne Marie Calhoun.
  11. Where it can be stolen. No thanks, I'll just stay out of county and city parks. On June 14, the Williamson County Commission is voting on a resolution that will permanently ban firearms from all parks within the county. I am attending to make some remarks to the commission in an attempt to persuade any who may be on the fence that a vote for the resolution is a vote to remove yet another of our constitutional freedoms. My understanding is that, if the resolution does not pass, ball fields and other sections of county parks will be off limits to those with HCPs when a school sanctioned event is taking place.
  12. Love Steve Vai's work too. Would love to see either of them or both in concert.
  13. Nah, I just know what I like. But, thanks, man.
  14. The "activists" were prepared, indicating that they were looking for a fight - why else would they have metal rods and other weapons ready when the Israeli commandos boarded the ship?
  15. I just read that the UN has condemned the "raid" on the so-called "peace activist" vessel. Just one more reason for us to withdraw from the UN and tell them where to go. What bull****...
  16. Joe Satriani - Surfing with the Alien. "Satch Boogie" kicks ass.
  17. Spent the day with my family. Took the wife out shopping in the afternoon with my M&P9c on my hip. Took a moment to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of the ultimate sacrifice of others, even though those freedoms are slowly being taken away by those who want the U.S. to be like Europe...
  18. The only problem with the well placed shot theory is that one loses his fine motor skills in a defensive shooting situation, therefore placement of shots becomes very difficult. And like it or not, the data does indicate the relative effectiveness of various calibers.
  19. Excellent post! Today, I am very thankful for the sacrifice of others. But sadly, there are those in our country who are trying to undo all of the bravery, sacrifice, and patriotism of our fallen soldiers. To them I say - This is still America, the land of the free and the home of the brave. We are one nation under God, not Buddah or Allah or even "Mother Earth". If you are not one of us, then become one of us and live by American values and the American way of life. Don't expect us or try and force us to conform to yours. And if you are not for us, then you are against us and we will treat you accordingly. And finally, if the American flag offends you, then get the hell out!!!
  20. Didn't see this posted anywhere and thought it made for a good "what-if" scenario. You are coming out of your local (insert store name here) and see this taking place. You know nothing other than what you are seeing. Breitbart.tv Do you intervene, or do you decide to be a good witness and call 911?
  21. I used to buy in to the ".380 in your pocket is better than the .45 you left at home" thinking (akin to "anything is better than nothing"). Then I started reading and studying the issue. Anything that penetrates less than 12" in ballistic testing I consider inadequate as either a primary or backup weapon. Either you are committed to carry or you are not. Either you are committed to doing what it takes to protect yourself and your loved ones or you are not. If you are not, that's perfectly fine; that's why we all have freedom of choice. At one time the pocket autos in .22, .25, .32 and .380 were the only thing available. But with the increasing number of reliable, accurate, pocket sized service-caliber weapons on the market, there simply is no reason to carry a mousegun caliber anymore. And once you start exploring the many options for carry, you will quickly discover just how easy it is to conceal a medium to full size weapon. You might have to alter your dress a bit, but isn't your life worth making a few changes in your daily routine? If you want to carry a mousegun caliber, that's your choice. I would rather make a few sacrifices and increase my chances of survival.
  22. That's what I was thinking too. Made several trips down the Buffalo from Grimes Canoe Base with our troop. We used to stop around the bridge to get out and cool off in the water.
  23. I don't think you will have any regrets about buying it. My UC9 is one of those weapons I would trust my life to.
  24. I have one of the Thunder UC9 Semi Pro Transition models. Has the loaded chamber indicator, picatinny rail, and polygonal rifling. Nice little gun for $329. Very reliable and extremely accurate.
