  1. It's never bothered me that others might think I'm "paranoid". My safety and my family's safety are MY responsibility, 24/7. No one else's.
  2. Ummmm...... wow. I liked this comment from the original article: Ruger LCP: What you think it says: I have the perfect carry gun, so small and lightweight that I can carry it everywhere. The governor of Texas shot a coyote with one, so it must be cool. What it actually says: I don’t train or practice realistically, and I probably don’t practice or train at all. Unless my attacker is really close, gives me lots of pre-attack cues and time to draw from my ‘cheapest I could find’ pocket holster, and is scared off by the sound of gunfire, my odds of survival in a real fight are lousy, even though I believe they are pretty good, just because I “have a gun”.
  3. I've always understood that one of the reasons we have a HCP and not a CWP is so that it won't be a crime if we accidentally expose our weapons, and there have been times I was printing and my wife let me know so I could adjust my clothing. The vast majority of LEOs are supportive of citizens carrying, but there are a few who are not and take the opportunity to deliver a lecture about it. I would take the officer's name and badge number and make a phone call to the watch commander.
  4. I take mine in the shower in a Safepacker. I wedge it in between the towel rack and the tile. Fits perfectly.
  5. Wouldn't have a problem with it as long as he kept it in the holster, because I would be armed myself.
  6. Do you carry on your person while at home?
  7. As a former Assistant Scoutmaster and Webelos leader, and the father of an Eagle Scout, I can tell you that the journey is well worth the effort. We started at Tiger Cubs and went all the way through the program. I say "we" because it involves the entire family. Look at it long term and just go ahead and make the decision that you are in it for the long haul. It is a commitment and an investment in the life of a child that can change his life forever.
  8. Got a friend in HVAC repair who uses a Safepacker. Hangs it from his belt and no one has ever asked him what it is. They just assume it's a tool pouch. I use one when I am working out in the yard and around the house, and it protects the weapon from any damage no matter how much crawling around you have to do. Best $70 I ever spent.
  9. If I going into other peoples' homes was part of my work, then, no, I probably would not ask for permission every time I had to enter a dwelling. But if they said up front "I don't want any guns in my home", then I would have to honor their wishes by either disarming before entering or not going in at all. But if I am going into someone's home who I respect, and they don't know that I carry, I will usually ask if it's OK.
  10. This is what Strel makes me think of: Now are the foxes!!! That's for you to know and me to find out!!!
  11. Is there corrosion on the battery posts?
  12. If it's chambered for .38, you CANNOT use .357 cartridges.
  13. This may have already been said elsewhere, but when a grown-up has a problem with someone, they pull that person to the side and let them know about it. They don't make a public announcement in an attempt to humiliate and degrade. Let's all put on our big boy pants now.
  14. I have a Bersa UC9 that I would have no problem trusting my life to. I've never had a single failure with it after about 500 rounds. Bersas are highly underrated. There should be little recoil difference between the .380 and the 9, so I would choose the 9 if it were me.
  15. Usually either a 9mm or .45 with two spare mags (12 rounds per 9mm mag or 8 rounds per .45) and a 442 in the pocket with one speedstrip reload. In the car I have 3 spare mags in the Safepacker attached to the seat belt.
  16. I'm just weird I suppose - Fall and Winter are my two favorite seasons. I love wearing jackets and coats and sweatshirts; makes it so much easier to conceal 2, 3, or even 4 weapons...
  17. "I can put it on my credit card!" - LOL!!! I've been a Steve Martin fan ever since his stand-up days.
  18. It seems to be a given that most, if not all, shopping malls are "gun-free" zones. That's why I just don't go there. There are better deals to be had elsewhere, particularly online, and I don't even have to disarm to order from my computer.
  19. Never could follow this series. Guess you could say I'm "lost".

    Drive Safely

Everyone with a driver's license should watch that video. Every single day I see people who are doing everything BUT driving sitting behind the wheel of a 1-2 ton projectile. I worry every time my wife or son leaves the house to go somewhere.
  21. Why do non-believers get so upset whenever they hear the gospel and want to silence the one who cares enough to share it with them? What's so threatening about it?
  22. Very cool. Thanks for sharing it with us, and enjoy your training.
  23. I would not presume to tell you anything about that which you have already made up your mind.
  24. Keltec P3AT. Catastrophic failure that prompted me to sell it after it came back from the factory.
