  1. And it seems to get worse as I get older for some reason.
  2. As much as it pains me to say it, I am petrified of heights. When we went to Las Vegas last year, I could not force myself to get on either the roller coaster at New York, New York or the elevator that goes to the top of the "Eiffel Tower" at Paris. My family had to go without me. I'm such a coward.
  3. In the end, it's all about exposure. Whoever wins AGT is not the ultimate winner.
  4. With some good training, she will be a phenomenon. I wish her every success.
  5. Mike, you are a wise man.
  6. What are you waitin' for? Vegas is calling!!
  7. Just curious - exactly what is an "old-timer"?
  8. I've never found anything any better than chocolate cake with chocolate icing and a cold glass of milk.
  9. Stop me if you've heard this one... A firefighter was working on the engine outside the Station, when he noticed a little girl nearby in a little red wagon with little ladders hung off the sides and a garden hose tightly coiled in the middle. The girl was wearing a firefighter’s helmet. The wagon was being pulled by her dog and her cat. The firefighter walked over to take a closer look. "That sure is a nice fire truck," the firefighter said with admiration. "Thanks", the girl replied. The firefighter looked a little closer. The girl had tied the wagon to her dog's collar and to the cat's testicles. "Little partner", the firefighter said, "I don't want to tell you how to run your rig, but if you were to tie that rope around the cat's collar, I think you could go faster." The little girl replied thoughtfully, "You're probably right, but then I wouldn't have a siren."
  10. H&R/NEF Pardner Protector - $189 at Academy. I have one leaning up in the corner hidden by my dresser. Goes bang every time.
  11. Is it that he doesn't know "jack" or that he just disagrees with you? Big difference, you know. I have disagreements with my dad but I still regard him as the smartest man on the planet.
  12. Generally speaking, wisdom comes with age. But, as it is with anything, there are exceptions to that rule. One thing's for sure, it's all in the approach. Wouldn't mind a bit if someone half my age offered their opinion if they were kind and it was obvious they were just trying to help. But calling one a fool is a sure fire way to stop up their auditory canal.
  13. I'll stick with what I know works. I have no faith in the frangible ammo. Just seems like a gimmick to me. How many PD's use it?
  14. Wouldn't recommend it to someone who's new to tent camping.
  15. I used to have to go out and cut my own switch from the bush on the end of the house. If it was too small, I had to go cut another one and got beat twice with it. Also got the belt on more than one occasion. And if I got a paddling at school for ANY reason, my dad knew about it and gave me another one that afternoon. I spanked my son. He doesn't do drugs or get into trouble.
  16. Gee, aren't ALL guns ALWAYS loaded??
  17. Very considerate of you, but I never go around when someone is turning left. If they change their mind and decide to go straight it could be messy.
  18. Depends on the troop. Ours did both, car (or "pig") camping, and backpacking.
  19. Isn't it the same thing as driving down the shoulder on the interstate to get to your exit? THP will certainly bust you for it. Franklin has really cracked down on this because there are too many people who think that the shoulder is a right-turn lane.
  20. Then why did you state in your original post that you did call him a fool? Did you or didn't you? Big difference in helping people and pointing out to them that they are a fool because they don't make the same decisions we do. Don't take this personally, but the vast majority of twenty somethings I have encountered who think they know something generally don't. You and others here may be the exceptions. I have a 20 something living in my house. He doesn't know squat, but he thinks he is a walking encyclopedia. And yes, age makes a huge difference. Don't forget that all us middle agers were twenty somethings once and thought we knew it all.
  21. I watched the OP's video. That was about as offensive a spectacle as I've ever had the misfortune to see. I feel like I need a shower. That was all about Poppycock and had NOTHING to do with the National Anthem or patriotism. What a freakin' JOKE.
