  1. Not a Gators or a Broncos fan, but curious as to why so many seem to dislike Tebow...
  2. When you figure it out, let me know so I can use your technique on my wife.
  3. I'm old enough to have heard some of the greats, but don't think I've heard anyone do it better than Joe Satriani or Steve Vai.
  4. The Ruger over the RIA any day of the week.
  5. right-handed and left-eye dominant. I've always shot long guns left-handed, and I'm learning to shoot my pistols that way. It's starting to get more comfortable.
  6. Zeppelin, without a doubt.
  7. I don't have the UC45, but I do have the UC9, and I would not hesitate to buy a 45 if I found one at a good price. My UC9 is VERY accurate and reliable. The Bersa 9's and .45's are some of the most underrated weapons on the market. You should be able to find a used one somewhere in the $300 - $400 range. However, if you're considering buying one, I would recommend shooting one first. Like any weapon, one size does not fit all.
  8. Wish I was a restaurant owner and got paid a visit from these clowns. "You want me to post a sign to keep guns out? You mean a gun like THIS ONE?"
  9. Reply sent.
  10. Well done! The J Frame is an excellent choice. I have a 442 I carry in a pocket holster as a backup to my .45 compact M&P. Sounds like you are off to a great start. Welcome to the forum.
  11. Got one for sale over in the classifieds!!
  12. I agree 100%. Using criminal behavior to justify the ban of weapons carried by LAW-ABIDING citizens is nothing short of idiotic. He even made the ignorant statement that he thought Jones' companion who had the weapon had a carry permit. He THINKS? God, this guy is such a LOSER!!! Neither McWherter NOR Haslam is worthy of my vote!
  13. Just curious - do you know which PD's are issuing these and which ammo they are issuing for them?
  14. I have seen so many parents let their son make the decision to quit, simply because they didn't understand what he was walking away from. While I certainly don't believe that only Eagle Scouts succeed in life, I do think it can give them an advantage, both in what they learn and in what it represents to other people (i.e. employers). The Eagle badge represents hard work, perseverance, and leadership. I have never met anyone who was in scouting who said, "You know, I'm really glad that I didn't make Eagle".
  15. WHERE you are going makes a difference. If you are hiking the AT, a three season tent will do just fine. This is my recommendation: http://www.rei.com/product/794294 With a 20 degree sleeping bag and layered clothing, I slept just fine in 30 degree weather.
  16. I did a search and did not find either of these: Chuy's 3061 Mallory Lane Franklin, TN 37067 NOT POSTED Shane's Rib Shack 3046 Columbia Ave Suite 102 Franklin, TN 37064 NOT POSTED
  17. Statistics show that they are much more likely to stick with it and be successful if at least one parent is involved as a registered, uniformed leader.
  18. There comes a time when every boy in scouting wants to quit. We started at Tiger. Our son loved it all the way through Cubs/Webelos. He loved first year of Boy Scouts, and then his interests started to change (girls and music). He played in the band all the way through middle school and continued it when he got to high school. Marching band was his first love, and scouting started to take a back seat. From the training and experience I had as a leader, along with the encouragement from other leaders, I began to realize the importance of the Eagle rank and that it was too important for him to quit. My wife and I realized that he only had one shot at it and when he turned 18 the opportunity was gone forever, not to mention all the time and money we had invested in him up to that point. So, WE made the decision for him, because we knew that he did not understand the significance of seeing it through to completion. We told him that quitting was NOT an option, and that when he made Eagle he could then decide whether or not to continue. He will tell you to this day that he is grateful that we did not let him quit even though he wanted to. If I had it to do all over again, I would do it the same way. I believe it's that important.
  19. Yes, they did. He just has to drive down to Spring Hill to do it.
  20. I am constantly looking for things with which to embarrass my wife. I may steal the hat thing from you and use it in her car. Thanks for the idea...
  21. When I applied for my HCP years ago, the fingerprinting was done at the DL Testing Station. My son took his application to the local testing station to get the permit approval ball rolling, only to find that you now have to go to a third party to get this done? Are they trying to make it harder to get your HCP or what?
  22. As long as it goes bang, and you can shoot to POA, then I wouldn't worry too much about it. I don't have a single firearm that's 100% perfect.
  23. No, the video has been pulled.
  24. Got my first gray hair at 17, so you can imagine what it looks like now...
