  1. Paul Helmke of the Brady Campaign has deemed train travel "less safe" due to this new policy. However, no comment from him on how an UNLOADED weapon makes a train "less safe".
  2. I believe that's the way the founders set it up, but, if they were alive today, they would be suspected of being radicals and terrorists.
  3. Well, how many times have you heard someone say "I just don't understand why ANYONE would want to carry a gun!"? These are the ones who think that guns = death.
  4. It's the same phenomenon whereby someone who can't sing is told by their family and friends "Oh, you should audition for American Idol!!!".
  5. If one looks hard enough, he could probably find some who believe Obama walks on water, too.
  6. The only way I would ever carry openly is if it were common practice and the general public considered it no big deal. Even then, I might still carry concealed.
  7. As entertainment, the zombie concept is intriguing. But the article says in the beginning that for zombies to exist, a "sorcerer" has to reanimate them. I mean, really?
  8. If you're going to Franklin, Puckett's Grocery is worth the visit. Great home-cooking.
  9. Guess I'm weird. I was always taught that you get what you pay for, so I would choose the Para.
  10. I don't begrudge anyone a nice HD shotty. In fact, if you can afford it, go for it. But I just couldn't see tying up a lot of moula in something that is just going to sit in the corner. All I was looking for was something that I could count on if the SHTF.
  11. That's a bit like saying, "we respect your First Amendment rights, but we don't allow conversation in this establishment".
  12. BTW, Matt - would some of your "friends" be TGO members?
  13. I'm right there with you. I'll take a service caliber weapon over a mousegun any day of the week. If you can conceal the 40VE, then carry it with confidence. I carry a Smith M&P 45C, which is about the same size as the Sigma, in a K&D Thunderbird Defender and it disappears under nothing more than a T Shirt. Never sacrifice safety for convenience. My .
  14. If ya like good BBQ, you need to try Jack's on Lower Broadway.
  15. OK, well, I have to admit that I was intrigued when I found out Laurie Holden was in the cast....
  16. +1. I can't understand for the life of me why anyone would want to take the risk, likely or not.
  17. What are ya..... paranoid??
  18. Well... sometimes I laugh so hard that I cry. Does that count?
  19. Oh, what the hell... let's go for it. Guy, I find it highly amusing that you give yourself so much credit that you honestly believe you are able to hurt anyone's feelings here.
  20. I knew that if I watched even one episode of this I would be addicted. I was right.
  21. Thanks for your contribution to making sure it DOES keep going and going and going....
  22. Calling everyone who hides their S/N "paranoid" right off the bat doesn't exactly give the impression of someone who's "trying to understand it". If you haven't read "How to Win Friends and Influence People", now might be a good time to do so.
  23. From the article: 1) There ain't no magic bullets! 2) Only center hits count 3) Make the biggest diameter hole you can to let blood out and air in. 4) Small bullets may expand, but big bullets never shrink. 5) Make the deepest hole you can to insure that vital organs and nerve centers can be reached and destroyed from all impact angles. 6) "Service" your threat until it is no longer a threat. 7) No small arm can guarantee 100% instant incapacitation of a determined adversary--man or beast. 8) Don't believe manufacturer's claims. 9) Inconsequential increments are meaningless. 10) Most gun writers are pathological liars.
  24. Thanks for asking. Driving over to Ooltewah tomorrow to have Thanksgiving dinner with my parents and other family. Then getting up early Friday morning to take the wife shopping. Hope I can get a couple of naps in sometime before Monday.
  25. Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see anything mentioned about penetration.
