  1. Well ok, since it's so hard to figure out, and you would have to apply a little common sense - when I say no compromise, I am referring to places that post and HAVE THE CHOICE of whether or not to prohibit weapons. A Post Office is a government building. Since I need my job, I'm not going to demand that my employer allow me to carry. It doesn't work that way. Plus, I was working there before I ever obtained my permit. I can, however choose who I spend my money with. Does that help?
  2. Why is it paranoid to be prepared?
  3. I'd say you made an excellent choice.
  4. The only thing is that the landscape (dilapidated houses, overgrown vegetation and such) seemed to indicate that it was much longer than that.
  5. No, that's not what I mean at all. Why don't you go try and provoke someone else?
  6. I do one of two things, depending on the facilities - I either let the weapon fold over inside my waistband (after I drop my pants), or I unholster and lay the weapon on the toilet tank lid or on the paper holder.
  7. The answer is pretty simple; simple enough that you could have figured it out yourself. I didn't even become aware of the risks of being unarmed until 2-3 years ago. In other words, I was a sheep. When I finally gained situational awareness, and realized my vulnerability as well as that of my family, I started making some conscious decisions about personal safety. Not going into places where I have to be unarmed is one of those decisions. Of course, I have to make some counter decisions, like going to work (where I cannot carry), and going to the post office from time to time, but I won't break the law. I just avoid the places that prohibit carry if at all possible. I refuse to give my business to anyone who willfully removes my constitutional rights before I can enter their property.
  8. Glad you guys can tell when and where trouble will be, because I sure can't. That's why I always carry.
  9. Bud's is hard to beat, especially when they run a great deal. That's how I got my M&P9c for only $439.00
  10. Sometimes you just have to be the man of the house. My wife knows I won't go ANYWHERE I can't carry. Period. No compromise.
  11. +1 for the HP22. I also bought mine on impulse, the same day I bought my SP101. It has turned out to be a fun little plinker and has always gone bang. I don't even care much if it's accurate or not, I just keep it around as a noisemaker.
  12. The day that the sleeping giant was awakened and the full wrath of the USA was brought down on Japan.
  13. My understanding is that the PP has no plastic parts. All metal.
  14. Might be showing my ignorance here, but if someone wants to commit murder, they don't need a carry permit to do it.
  15. I have a Protector sitting cocked and locked in my bedroom corner. No worries.
  16. If it didn't dawn on her during the broadcast, I bet it did when she watched it later!!!!
  17. I'm aware of the statistic. That means that 9% of the time mere presentation of the weapon doesn't scare off the attacker. When it's 0% then I'll start relying on the fear factor.
  18. I don't count on the appearance of my weapon to scare an attacker off. The fact is that many violent criminals simply aren't afraid of your gun.
  19. I wouldn't think the dies nearly as important as the materials used.
  20. Highly doubtful that a .380 round of any kind is going to pass all the way through any human target.
  21. It's all in the attitude. I don't see someone "pushing" their right to OC just because they aren't carrying concealed. If they are doing it responsibly and it's obvious they aren't a threat to anyone else, then I support what they are doing.
  22. Not really sure how. What crimes are they committing? How are they being unruly?
  23. I need to go wash my eyes out.
  24. I have even heard stories of some of them curling up into a ball and sucking their thumb.
