  1. Thanks for the link. My son has Type 1 diabetes, but he does not have a college education. I thought it might be a good opportunity for him. Oh, well. Good luck with it!
  2. Still waiting for all those shootouts in bars to happen.
  3. Would someone with a chronic autoimmune disease qualify?
  4. Why is that a problem?
  5. I certainly have never used it on my weapons, and never will, but there are people who swear that it works. Wonder why it works for some and not for others?
  6. What a great American! I wish I had the honor of shaking this man's hand and thanking him for helping to protect our soldiers in WWII. No telling how many American lives he saved with his skill and experience: YouTube - ImposShotTGundy.wmv
  7. Unless they've changed their policy, Natchez doesn't ship to TN.
  8. We're going with a group of about 30 people, and we're actually staying in Anchorage for just two nights before we sail. We go to Seward the day of departure. I didn't realize until I looked at the map this morning that Anchorage and Seward are not that close to each other. So far we are signed up for the whale watching tour, but not for Denali. As we've never been to Alaska, we decided to just knock around Anchorage and do some sight-seeing there. May try to catch Denali the next trip. What about Skagway and Juneau? Anything in those two places we shouldn't miss? Thanks for the help.
  9. These folks make one: Simply Rugged Holsters
  10. I probably will be, it's just that I have become so accustomed to carrying, it's just like putting on my shoes.
  11. Actually, this will be our first cruise ever, and we are pretty excited about it. The only thing I don't like is that I will have to be unarmed for 11 days.
  12. The wife and I are booked on a late May cruise and I'm looking for someone who's been and knows the ins and outs.
  13. As blue is my favorite color, I'm likin' it!
  14. I'd call this something of an overreaction...
  15. Has anyone here done the Celebrity Cruise from Seward, Alaska to Vancouver BC?
  16. My wife and I went to Pigeon Forge for a few days last Fall. We stopped in Crossville at the VF Outlet and as I was waiting for her outside one of the stores, I decided to check FB. Lo and behold, my barely 21-yr old son, who was house sitting, had posted the following as his status: "Have the house all to myself for a few days. Let me know if you wanna hang out" To which one of his buddies replied: "BEERFEST" To which I replied: "I don't think so" He got a follow up call and I emphasized that there would be NO PARTIES in my house, and that he should change his status RIGHT NOW or I was turning around and coming home. The house was like we left it when we returned and nothing was missing. Facebook can be a good "surveillance" tool.
  17. If you don't carry with this mindset, then you're a walking target. You know what the definition of paranoid is, don't you? That's someone who's more prepared than you.
  18. I carry either a Smith 442, Ruger SP101, or M&P9c in a Desantis Apache on my weak side ankle as a BUG. It feels strange the first time you put it on, but it doesn't take long to become accustomed to it. I have absolutely no problems concealing any of these weapons this way. But, like any other method of carry, you must practice your draw and reholster for it to be effective.
  19. I won't set foot in any gun store (or ANY business for that matter) that restricts my right to self-defense. They have the right to prohibit, but I have the right to take my money elsewhere.
  20. I personally don't want to be that close to an attacker. How do I know he hasn't got AIDS or some other blood borne disease? Pop a around in him that close, and if you get it in your eye, mouth or nose, you might become infected yourself. Just like I have no desire to trade blows with someone. No thanks.

    How to Buy Online

I've ordered several guns from Bud's and I've never had to pay state sales tax. Just the shipped price + FFL + background fees.
  22. As I grow older, and my hair gets grayer, I try really hard not to sweat the small stuff.
  23. Absolutely correct. I quit in 1985 after a pack and a half a day habit for 15 years. Finally came to the realization that it was going to kill me eventually, and after hearing my dad describe how my grandpa died due to emphysema, I finally, after several half-hearted tries, put them down for good. Cold turkey with no help from a patch or anything else. Many people don't want to hear it, but it is nothing more than a decision. If you aren't completely committed to quitting, you'll be back on the cancer sticks within a few days. Was it easy? Not in the least. Was it worth it? Absolutely.
  24. Just so you'll know when you go in - it's a HANDGUN carry class. There is no concealed carry permit available in TN.
