I originally got mine because a buddy called and said, "Let's go take our TN HCP class, then we can carry a gun!!". It took about 12 years before it dawned on me that I needed to carry daily for my own safety and that of my family. I'm just thankful that I had the epiphany BEFORE anything happened.

I used to see them all the time when I lived in Central Florida in the mid-seventies. I have yet to see one in TN.

It's not the child's fault. It IS the parent's fault for not teaching them how to respect others. This dad clearly had not been taught himself, or the lesson didn't stick. Too many parents are trying to be their kids' buddies and not parenting. Good for you for saying something to both the dad and the manager. He deserved to be given the boot.

This why the vast majority of people who carry legally are very nice people. We go to great lengths to avoid deadly conflicts, because we are aware of the incredible responsibility that goes with carrying a deadly weapon.

Always good to research and gather information before you purchase. After a little Googling, it appears that the blade for this knife has a very low quality stainless steel (4034), so I wouldn't expect too much from it. I have just recently become interested in knives and the different kinds of blade steel used, but am still very much a novice. I am currently looking for a good folder with S30V steel at a good price.

About 6 months after the restaurant carry bill became law (the second time), and after Gail Kerr wrote her article predicting bar killings and blood in the streets in the Tennessean, I sent her an email asking why she thought those crimes had not materialized. I never got a reply.

Sounds like a sneaky attempt on someone's part to ban guns from city parks. You have to keep a close eye on most government officials.
