  1. Too bad you didn't have a camera with you.
  2. It is not a retail operation, but I do enter the building sometimes on the weekends. I do NOT carry.
  3. Where I work, the company policy says "no weapons". There is no disclaimer that says "unless you are not on the clock".
  4. Let me rephrase it then: I'm not going to risk my career by putting it to the test.
  5. Gladiator Soundtrack - The Battle
  6. Common sense would tell me that if an employee is forbidden to carry while on the job, then he/she would be forbidden to carry WHENEVER on company property.
  7. Wow, some folks' willingness to completely trash the Constitution is shocking.
  8. The Fifth Amendment to the Constitution isn't that difficult to understand. Wonder what Judge Andrew Napolitano has to say about it? Oh, here we go: The Plain Truth about Executive Assassination - Fox Business Video - Fox Business
  9. The Fifth Amendment to the Constitution isn't really that difficult to understand. The Plain Truth about Executive Assassination - Fox Business Video - Fox Business
  10. How do you conclude that I'm challenging your ethics? If anything, I was trying to defend you. I won't make that mistake again. Didn't mean to offend.
  11. Brian has to do what he's told, just like any employee. It's common knowledge that the editors of the Tennessean are gun haters, so if they want him to write a hit piece, then that's what he has to do.
  12. If it's a cash transaction, there is no paper trail, but I think it's good business to have the other party show proof of TN residence, and agree to sign a bill of sale that has their name, address, phone, and TN DL#. Those things aren't required (except that both parties must be TN residents, otherwise it has to go through an FFL), but it's good to have all your bases covered.
  13. I am going to amaze my friends and family with over the coming weekend.
  14. My understanding was that permit holders had no duty to inform in TN, but that it was always a "good idea" to do so. But I agree that the guy in this video had every right to refuse to show ID.
  15. Doesn't matter how I would "feel" about it. And, no, I'm not the kind to abuse the legal system. Anyone who would blame the police for the actions of a murderer is misguided. Someone legally carrying a handgun is NOT, I repeat, NOT probable cause for the police to detain him/her. But it sounds to me like you're saying that government officials should be able to violate a citizen's constitutional rights because of what they "might" do. Do you understand the 4th Amendment? Do you understand probable cause?
  16. Sounds to me like us Tennesseans have more reason to carry than a lot of other folks....
  17. Well, far be it from me to ever be "irreverent".
  18. If you want to give up your constitutional rights so easily, that's your prerogative. I'm not going to go looking for trouble, but if I'm minding my own business, and not doing anything wrong, I'm not going to be so passive while still being respectful. Having a tough job is not justification for violating someone else's constitutional rights. Is it?
  19. Remove the firearm from the equation. Does the LEO now have the right to stop you and ask you if you have any felonies and ask to see your ID because someone called and said you looked "suspicious"?
  20. I've seen several videos and read several accounts in different states where the person being stopped refused to show ID, and the LEO couldn't legally require them to comply, so it must be a federal statute, as long as they have no reasonable cause to suspect you of criminal activity. My understanding is that either you are being detained (for which they must have reasonable suspicion) or you are free to go about your business. This guy knew his rights, and the LEO's KNEW that he knew.
  21. Don't know anything about the FN, but the M&P45 is a fine weapon.
  22. The Day America Died by Paul Craig Roberts
  23. When my son and I were in scouts, right before summer camp at Boxwell Reservation we would hang our clothes up on the patio and spray them down with Permanone and then let them air dry. Neither he nor I had any problems with ticks or chiggers the entire week. Good stuff.
  24. BSA rules forbid firearms at meetings and outings. If one decides to carry, just be sure it stays concealed.
  25. Good point, and one that's very important. Also be sure not to leave any of the cloth exposed so that it won't channel water under your tent if it rains.
