  1. Those days are gone forever, I'm afraid.
  2. Personally, I won't even do business with a new member unless a tenured member can vouch for them. To me, that's like doing business with someone off the street who you've never met before.
  3. No, that's not what I'm saying at all. I was merely relating my own experience with bikes, both motorized and non-motorized. Not saying that no one should ride. I hope no one ever has to experience what I did. Sorry that it came across that way.
  4. I've always looked at it from the viewpoint that it's the business' responsibility to EARN my business, and they have to do that by letting me know through outstanding service and fair pricing that they want my business. If they do those two little things, I'll keep coming back and I'll refer them to my friends. Word of mouth has always been and always will be the best advertising, and any sale is better than none at all. Any business with the attitude that they're doing me a favor by even acknowledging my presence can go pound sand. Treat enough of your customers that way, and it's just a matter of time before you close your doors for good.
  5. I carry either my Smith 442 or SP101 in a DeSantis Apache as a BUG, and when I can't carry on the hip or in the pocket, it serves as my primary, but that's rare. Ankle carry takes a little getting used to, and it's not for everyone, but I find it very comfortable. I hear lots of good things about the Renegade ankle rigs too.
  6. Yeah, you kinda need to go back and watch the first 5 episodes before Sunday. One of the things that makes the series so good is the excellent character development and interpersonal dynamics.
  7. Tats and piercings used to be unique, but so many people have them now, there's nothing unique or "individual" about them.
  8. Well, maybe not with one of those, but I know I will be armed.
  9. Yes, he is an imbecile for doing this. I see they are still calling it the "guns in bars" bill. No mention of the fact that it was to allow us to carry into RESTAURANTS THAT SERVE ALCOHOL.
  10. They've promised that the horror factor will be higher this season. I hope so!!
  11. From what I've read here so far, cyclists don't like motorists who are rude and don't obey the laws pertaining to bicycles, and the reverse is also true. I agree that there are a lot of rude motorists. Why would a cyclist want that kind of aggravation? Doesn't seem to me that it's very good for the blood pressure.
  12. You first. I have just as much right to defend my position as anyone else. Sorry you don't like it.
  13. Thanks for posting this. It shows what complete LOSERS the so-called "occupiers" are.
  14. LOL. And you say nothing about the false claims and made by the ones you apparently agree with as well as their refusal to take responsibility for their own actions. Yes, this thread speaks VOLUMES about some people.
  15. Exactly. Who CHOSE to put themselves at risk by being on the road with 3-4 ton vehicles moving at speeds in excess of 50 MPH? HINT: It wasn't the motorists.
  16. RIA vs. a quality 1911
  17. Yes, it certainly does.
  18. I was on my way home this afternoon and stopped a a light before getting on the interstate. A guy on a bike comes riding up on my right. No bike lane. When the light turned green, off he goes, right in front of me into the intersection. How is it that a cyclist has the right of way over everyone else who has been waiting in line to get through the light? Is that legal?
  19. I never said that, either. I believe you are just reading whatever you want to into my posts. Go back and read them again.... slowly.
  20. I don't really know how else to "construe" it.
  21. Wrong. That isn't what I said at all. Actions have consequences. If you put yourself in a dangerous position, then you shouldn't be surprised if you get hurt. That's how life works.
  22. Except that I didn't advocate banning anything.
  23. Why is it that those of you who don't believe aren't just content to say "I don't believe in God", but you find it necessary to ridicule those of us who do by calling our faith "mythology", "myth", and "make believe"? Do you really think that's conducive to a rational discussion?
