Or justifying one's own sense of humor by degrading someone else's. Humor is a subjective concept.

When did "need" have anything to do with it?
  4. Brian, the very fact that you refer to the law as "guns in bars" indicates to me that you have a bias that is typical of the media. The bill had nothing to do with carrying in "bars", and everything to do with allowing law-abiding citizens to be able to protect themselves and their families while eating in a restaurant that serves alcohol (provided they do not drink, of course). Gail Kerr's hit pieces on that bill constantly referred to it as the "guns-in-bars" bill, which was a misnomer and went a LONG way in poisoning the general public's opinion about it, which we know was based on emotions and not fact. I believe that was the media's intent and they were almost successful in getting the bill defeated. I wrote Ms. Kerr a couple of times asking her to provide facts for her assertions, and I was ignored. That told me everything I needed to know.

Unless that someone is a Muslim.
  6. Nothing screams "I HAVE GUNS IN MY HOUSE!!!" like a gun-shaped mailbox...

I compare it to being in a social setting where there is booze, and someone offers you something and you say "no, thanks. I don't drink". Then they get all butt hurt because they think you're being holier than thou. Sounds like there are a lot of people who are truly threatened by a good man living out his faith.
  8. Which begs the question: If you are physically trying to stop someone from taking your belongings, and it becomes a life-threatening situation, and you end up having to shoot, could you be found guilty of escalating the situation?
  9. To you and me, maybe. But put someone who is OCing in the middle of a group of people who have hoplophobia and one of them might feel justified in trying to knock him out because he was afraid everyone was going to end up wounded or dead. Unless someone is threatening you directly, you cannot use deadly force.
  10. And I suppose you wouldn't have any problem if someone else reacted the same way to you if you were OCing? You might have a hard time convincing law enforcement that he was an imminent threat to you unless he was pointing his weapon at you. If you shoot someone who is not breaking the law, you are in a world of trouble.

I find it even funnier that people are offended at Tebow's faith, yet they claim to know what Jesus thinks about it. Funny stuff.
  12. How is it that you can't see the difference between pointing your weapon at someone and actually pulling the trigger? It's not THAT hard.
  13. Then why isn't he in jail? I didn't say that you have a constitutional right to obtain an FFL. You do, however, have the right to go about your business if you are not breaking the law. The whole "he's putting others at risk" mantra is the exact same argument that the gun haters use to limit the freedoms of gun owners.
  14. Simply Rugged Silver Dollar Pancake holster for OWB.
  15. I didn't say I agreed with what he's doing, but can you tell me what laws he's breaking?
  16. It will come to law enforcement's attention IF and WHEN he breaks the law. Why are some here so eager to deny another his constitutional rights just because they don't like him or what he's doing?
  17. Here's an example of how the typical media outlet tries to use unrelated events to push their agenda. Never mind the fact that Jared Loughner did not buy his Glock 19 at a gunshow, nor did he buy it from a private seller. Passing a law requiring private sellers to go through an FFL for the background checks would have done NOTHING to prevent Loughner from doing what he did, yet the so-called "gunshow loophole" is being dishonestly used to push gun control. Makes me sick and is nothing but "dancing in the blood of the victims". Tucson shooting survivors push for stricter gun laws
  18. The minute someone leaves marks on the door from trying to pry it open, that's when I'm going to open fire. No judge is going to look at that and say "you had no right to defend yourself". I'm not waiting till he gets the door open so he has a better chance at winning the contest.
  19. The camera rule is idiotic. Who needs a camera anymore when you can just snap, snap, snap with your smartphone and upload it to a photo sharing website? Some people are dumber than a box of rocks.

  22. I like this response the best so far.
  23. Well, I'm not gonna run for office. I simply am not going to open myself or my family up to that kind of scrutiny. Short of that, I can try to persuade people and make what I consider the best use of my vote at the ballot. That's really all I know to do. And, because I DO vote, I have the right to bellyache if I want.
  24. The knife bug has bitten me squarely on the hiney and it has bitten me HARD. I've spent almost all the Christmas money I got on knives. Over the weekend I bought a Kershaw Blur and a Benchmade Aphid at the RK Gunshow in Franklin. At the same time, I received the Benchmade Mini-Grip I ordered. I just found out that several Kershaws were being discontinued this year, including the Baby Boa, so I ordered one from Amazon as well as a SOG Flash I that I had been sitting on the fence about. And I haven't even touched ZT, Chris Reeve, Randall, and the more expensive lines. Geez, this is addicting!!! Somebody help me please!!
  25. Yes, it can always be worse. But that's not much consolation when I know that things can be better. Sorry, I'm just not much of a "settle for" kinda guy.
