  1. California had "universal" background checks in place when Elliot Rodger went on his killing spree with a CA compliant firearm and magazines, all bought legally. Why didn't the so-called "universal" background check system stop him?
  2. I'm puzzled at how McDonald's has managed to avoid the attention of the Moms Who Don't Get Any Action. Maybe it's because they're a franchise operation, but my guess is that they'll be next, seeing as how they market themselves as a family establishment.
  3.   If that were the case, why wouldn't they just post signs on the doors?
  4. How do background checks of any kind keep felons and the mentally ill from getting firearms?
  5. Molly Snyder, a Target spokeswoman, said the retailer will not post signs at its stores asking people not to bring guns inside. "It is not a ban," she said. "There is no prohibition." http://www.columbian.com/news/2014/jul/02/target-asks-customers-not-to-bring-guns-to-its-sto/
  6. Target, Chipotle, Chili's, Starbucks - all have "respectfully" requested that patrons not bring firearms inside. No bans; no posting signs, nothing. So, really, nothing has changed. My theory is that they did what they did to get the Moms Who Don't Get Any Action off their backs, and it worked like a charm. Let them think they've won. They're more likely to underestimate us.
  7. If it's legal for them to do so (which should no longer be an issue), then they'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they didn't.
  8. You are wise. A fine knife is not a pry bar or a chisel. That's what gas station knives are for.
  9. While I love me some bacon, I'm more of a pork sausage man myself.
  10. You, sir, are a great American!
  11. I think it's great that you can move close to your parents. Cherish every single moment you have with them. Hope the move goes smoothly for you and that the job transfer works out to your liking.
  12. Sincere condolences, Mike. So sorry for the loss of your friend and colleague and for Jack's family.
  13. They're fast in 28 Days Later too.
  14. Got mine the first year they were available. Back then it took every bit of 90 days, so two weeks is nothing.
  15.   Wouldn't that make MLK the first black POTUS?   :stir:
  16. Ok, makes sense. That did not even occur to me. One of the mods may want to close this down.
  17. I remembered there being one, but my search for it resulted in nada.
  18. Has anyone done business with Everything Weapons in Franklin (formerly Uselton)? If so, what are your impressions? Range time is free M-F through June, so I think I'm going to take advantage of that. It's normally $20/day, and $10 for each additional person in your party, so that seems to be in line with other places I've used. There was only one other customer in the shop besides me. The guys were courteous and helpful. After looking around a little, I bought a Magpul "tactical" phone case for my Samsung Galaxy S4 for $16 plus tax, which is about the same as Amazon charges. I didn't price any of their handguns, but they had just about anything you could want for rent.
  19. Gonna wait and see how KFC handles this before I issue my own personal verdict.
