  1. Please point everyone to my post where I said if you don't carry a service caliber, then you shouldn't carry at all. You can't because it's not there. I never said it. Stop being so presumptuous. It's hilarious that you are telling me to "do my own research". I have, and lots of it, but I'll patiently wait while you provide proof that mousegun calibers consistently perform at the same level as service calibers. BTW, just because you were lucky enough to escape without firing a shot doesn't mean that everyone will experience the same good fortune. Are you denying the fact that there are documented cases where just presenting the weapon did not stop the attack? Why is it so important to you that I agree with you?
  2. From personal experience with noisy neighbors and living in a rural area outside the city limits, I can tell you that there is nothing that county law enforcement can do about it. Disturbing the peace does not apply in many situations. About the only way you can get something done about it is to work with your county commissioner, and then it depends on how much clout he/she has in getting a district attorney or a magistrate to render an opinion in your favor. I agree with your last statement. Unfortunately, it seems that far too many people have not been taught consideration for others, but it is not generally against the law, just like stupidity.
  3. Looks to me like Shane isn't completely gone - when Rick got the best of him, he halfway came to his senses, and after the three of them escaped, I believe Shane realized that Rick had his back.
  4. I have never seen any hard evidence to convince me that mousegun calibers achieve the penetration AND expansion of the service calibers. Until I do, I won't change my mind about it. If you or someone else wants to carry a mousegun, that's your right and your choice. Just don't expect me to pat you on the back for it. The old adage "any caliber you have with you is better than ANY caliber locked in your safe" is completely ridiculous, because it doesn't have to be one or the other. It just sounds good to most people and provides justification for not carrying a more effective weapon. And If you're counting on the mere presence of your weapon to scare off an attacker, then you're operating under a false assumption.
  5. Exactly - just like a lot of politicians. I have next door neighbors who shoot on Saturdays. I don't trust them as far as I can throw them, and I don't go out in that part of my yard (I live on 3 acres), but they're not breaking any laws.
  6. So is a pointy stick.
  7. Yes, they do, but like everything else there, they are way overpriced.
  8. You can witness the same kind of thing beginning to happen at Cool Springs Galleria. I have heard some people say they don't like to go in through the food court because of all the gangsta wannabees that hang out there on the weekends. My wife knows that the mall is one place I refuse to go.
  9. Ah, so that would explain why so many PD's issue those calibers to their officers.
  10. The fact that I don't want to get poked in the eye with a stick doesn't make the stick a good SD weapon.
  11. This is exactly why I don't discuss my firearms with anyone. Wait, did I say "firearms"? I meant, um, fire extinguishers. Yeah, that's it.
  12. A cage around it would make it really sweet. That way you wouldn't have to worry about the zombies getting to you while you reload.
  13. When I took Wado Ryu, we had an instructor who was trained in Jiu Jitsu and taught us ground fighting techniques. It was one of the favorite parts of my training.
  14. Last time I checked, they don't ship to Tennessee.
  15. Whatever you end up doing, don't sign a contract if you can avoid it.

    HiPoint Carbine

    I love mine.
  17. Don't take it off or it won't work right....
  18. Springer!!
  19. Same thing with Chris Reeve knives. They are aesthetically pleasing to look at, and I'm sure very sturdy, but is there really $400-$500 worth of materials and labor in those things?
  20. Why waste a round?
  21. I don't even know what to say about this. I can't for the life of me understand why people like this even have children in the first place. They should be neutered before they can cause so much pain to someone so young and so innocent.
  22. Just wondering - can some of you qualify your preferences by listing how many different manufacturers/distributors you have first hand experience with? For instance: I have knives made or distributed by Kershaw, Benchmade, CRKT, and Case, and from those, I seem to be drawn more to the Kershaw knives over the others, even though I like all of them.
  23. Warning shots also indicate to the BG that you aren't serious.
