  1.   Which is precisely why I will politely refuse to give them any information if I am within my right to do so.
  2. If you have phone service through an internet provider, you can block a certain number of phone numbers. That's what I had to do to stop the "We're calling you back about that insurance quote you requested" baloney.

I'll second that. Edley's is fantastic. Some of the best brisket I've ever had.
  4. I have next door neighbors who have no respect for anyone else's property. The wife actually made the statement once that she thought that you had easement five feet beyond your property line.   But, then, they're from New York, so there's that.  :dunno:
  5.   Thanks for the reminder that I need to call the Franklin Gut Clinic tomorrow and see when I'm due for my next one.

    The Glock side

Well, I did it. I was coming home from Chattanooga yesterday and stopped at the Outpost Armory. They had one standard Gen 4 Glock 19 left, so it went home with me. Looking forward to putting some downrange with it. I may have to go back and get that Kahr CM9 I fondled before the end of the month.

Love the one in Franklin. No sign on the door. I carry every time I go there.
  8.   I was going to say I'm surprised that she's not black and lesbian.
  9. Read the Hobbit when I was in high school at the suggestion of a friend. Read the LOTR trilogy in college. Then I read them all again about 2 years later. They've been favorites of mine ever since. I tried to read the Silmarillion but couldn't make it past the 2nd chapter.   Anyone remember the Ralph Bakshi film that came out in the 70's and covered the first half of the trilogy? It was such a bomb that they never made part 2.
  10. But then it wouldn't be as much fun watching Gandalf using his staff to give the Orcs an ass-whoopin'.
  11.   Yes, it works fine. It's just that it will shut itself off before the cycle is complete. Sometimes it will shut off after a couple of minutes, other times it will run for 10-20 minutes, every once in a while it will run the full cycle. But most of the time you have to keep restarting it.
  12. Clothes dryer won't run a whole cycle before shutting off. It gets hot, but you have to keep starting it.
  13. Looking for a good, reasonable appliance repairman in the Nashville/Franklin/Spring Hill area.
  14. I've never given much thought to which "class" I fit into. Alls I know is that I have everything that I need, and many things that I have been fortunate enough to be able to afford, with enough to be able to donate to charity from time to time. I am not rich by any means, but because I have lived within my means and saved some money, I am comfortable. I have a family I love and they love me back. I have some good friends who I could call if I ever needed them. All in all, I am a blessed man and I would wish the same for anyone else.

    Papa Johns

Thanks for mentioning this. I've heard Nick's was good, but haven't made it over there. Guess I'll have to make it a point to do so.

For anyone who lives in the Franklin area, Nashville Pizza is one of the best IMO and they don't prohibit legal carry. I go there often.
  17. If I didn't have anything, and came into an inheritance or some other kind of windfall, I would get something that would serve as home defense and that I could carry on my person when I go out in public. Smith Model 686 or Ruger SP101 in .357 comes to mind. More versatile than most other handguns because you can also shoot .38 special.   That's what I'd choose.
  18. Costco co-founder Jim Sinegal is a big Zero supporter.
  19. You mean they don't use .380?

I like Papa Murphy's better anyway.
  21. Bloomberg has deep pockets.
  22. Well, Mrs. Daddyo likes to go there sometimes. They've never had much that interests me. I just go mainly as her bodyguard. I did find me a good deal there once on a Black and Decker cordless drill that had two other attachments. It was the only one left and it scanned at $20, so I went ahead and bought it. When I got home later, I looked it up on line and it had an SRP of $119.99. Target must've had it in their system wrong. Best deal I ever got on anything ever.
  23.   Agreed. If our government continues on its current path, it's really only a matter of time before we're all felons.
  24.   Didn't they waive that right when they decided to break the law?
  25. Statement from Open Carry Texas on Target's decision: While this is not a ban on legally possessed firearms in its stores, we will continue to honor our months long policy of not taking long arms into Target stores or any other business, time and time again, businesses that have asked guests not to bring legally possessed, self defense firearms into their establishments have seen their employees and customers victimized by criminals preying on the openly defenseless.   Open Carry Texas is laser focused on our statewide goals of making Texas the 45th state to recognize the right to openly carry firearms and the 32nd to do so without a licensing requirement. Engaging in the businesses of interfering with or making a scene at private corporations is something to which Open Carry Texas has never lowered itself, a practice we will maintain.   http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/07/robert-farago/open-carry-texas-responds-targets-gun-ban/
