My grandfather owned one firearm - a 12 ga shotgun. He didn't leave it out in plain view, but if he had, I woulda been too afraid to touch it. He woulda beaten the crapolo outta me... lol.

There is nothing wrong with asking someone to secure his/her weapon if small children are around. That could mean locking it in your car, a safe, or simply carrying it on your person.

I can't get one to be still long enough to get a shot at it, and there's really only one place I can shoot from to avoid making my neighbors mad.

I've never heard a believer make that kind of statement. I'm not doubting that there are those who believe it, but it does show that some things are better left unsaid or said in a less confrontational manner. Sometimes it's better to lead one to his own conclusions.

I see people who don't believe getting butt hurt just as often as those who do. They're just more sarcastic about it, and for some reason can't resist the temptation to ridicule and belittle someone who does believe.

On Target charges an all day fee of $20 for non-members. If you bring a friend they have to pay only $10 but you have to share a lane (unless it's not busy). And I agree, after about an hour of shooting paper targets, I've had enough.

There was a case within the past year, I believe, where a young mother was home with her children (her husband had just passed away), and two thugs tried to break into her home. She was on the phone with 911 and told them she had a gun. The dispatcher told her not to shoot, but the thugs were about to break the door in. She shot one of them and killed him, I believe. No charges were filed against her.

I've been hanging out on Bladeforums.com too much. I've discovered the Enlan/Bee/Sanrenmu/ line of knives, which all use the 8cr13mov steel, and yes, they are made in China. My curiosity got the best of me, so I ordered one of these: For less than $20 including shipping, I'm pretty impressed with this knife. Solid lockup, no blade play at all, blade is not exactly centered when closed but it's close enough for the money. Blade has a nice thick spine, slightly thicker than any of my Kershaws or Spydercos. It wasn't quite sharp enough for my liking out of the box, so I ran it over the rods on the Lansky turnbox. Now it shaves hair off my arm with ease. The blade flicks open fast and easily with the comfortable thumb studs. One of the things that drew me to it was the nice deep carry clip, which allows it to ride completely out of sight in a jeans pocket (except for the clip, of course). The only thing it seems to be missing is a lanyard hole, but that's not a deal breaker. It can also be carried tip down and right hand only. It feels like a good quality product with good quality G10 scales and stainless steel liners. Weight is reasonable at 3.5 oz. Blade length is 3", closed length is 4", and over all length is just over 7". This could've gone either way, but with positive reviews, I perceived the risk to be fairly low. It's well worth the $20 or so that I spent. I'll carry it for a while and put it to use to get a better idea of whether or not it is a performer.
