  1. A tough looking group of hairy bikers are riding when they see a girl about to jump off a bridge, so they stop. The leader, a big burly man, gets off his bike and says, "What are you doing?"

"I'm going to commit suicide," she says.

While he doesn’t want to appear insensitive, he also doesn’t want to miss an opportunity, so he asks, "Well, before you jump, why don't you give me a kiss?" She does, and it is a long, deep, lingering kiss. After she's finished, the tough, hairy biker says, "Wow! That was the best kiss I’ve ever had! That's a real talent you’re wasting. You could be famous. Why are you committing suicide?"

"My parents don't like me dressing up like a girl…

  2. I rented a home twice several years ago and both times I had to take the renters to court to get my rent. They were crooks and deadbeats and had no intent to pay what they owed. I decided then I was not intended to be a landlord. Sold the house and never looked back.

  3. There are always stories of heroism in tragedies like the Kenyan Mall Massacre. Here is one:

British hero of the mall massacre: Ex Royal Marine with a handgun saved 100 lives as terrorists ran amok
    • Was having coffee at Westgate mall when it was attacked on Saturday
    • He returned to building a dozen times despite intense gunfire

  5. Here is a link to an article about a lady who moved from Virginia to Wyoming and when she found out about some pending legislation concerning relaxing some gun laws, wrote a representative about her concerns. His advice to her: Leave!

A funeral service is held for a woman who just passed away. As the pallbearers carry the casket out, they accidentally bump into a wall.

They hear a faint moan. They open the casket and find that the woman is actually alive.

She lives for 10 more years and then dies. They have another funeral for her. At the end of the service, the pallbearers carry out the casket.

As they are walking, the husband cries out,

    "Watch out for the wall!"

  7. I have read a slew of Louis L'Amour books over the years and have a stack still to be read. I came across this 15 minute interview of LL on 60 minutes from years ago. If you are a fan of his books or are just interested in the old west you will probably like watching this. He dispels some of the common myths about life in old west days.

Louis L'Amour has made a profession out of a private passion: the Old West. The prolific and best-selling author tells Morley Safer about some of the real-life gunslingers and outlaws who inspired his work.

  8. A hooded robber burst into a Minnesota bank and forced the tellers to load a sack full of cash.

On his way out the door, a brave Minnesota customer grabbed the hood and pulled it off, revealing the robbers face.
The robber shot the customer without a moments hesitation. He then looked around the bank and noticed one of the tellers looking straight at him.
The robber instantly shot him also....
Everyone in the bank, by now very scared, looked intently down at the floor in silence.
The robber yelled, "Well, did anyone else see my face?"
There are a few moments of utter silence in which everyone was plainly too afraid to speak.
Then, one old Norwegian named Ole from Minnesota tentatively raised his hand and said, "My wife got a pretty good look at you."

  9. Here is another report with more information:

    http://www.star-telegram.com/2013/08/29/5119749/wife-of-rock-guitarist-ted-nugent.html

“She is very embarrassed,” Finn said. She wanted to apologize to authorities and to any passengers who might have been inconvenienced, he said.
“It was an honest mistake,” Finn said. “I don’t want to minimize it and make it sound like it’s no big deal, especially after 9-11.
“She gets that, and Ted gets that.”
Finn said he has represented clients in similar cases, including Judith Kenney, an attorney from Addison who, in January 2012, went through a security checkpoint at DFW with a .38-caliber revolver in a carry-on bag.
He said Kenney, like Shemane Nugent, forgot the gun was in her bag. A grand jury declined to indict her on a charge of taking a gun into a prohibited place.
To win a conviction on that charge, prosecutors must prove the defendant carried the gun into the airport in an intentional or reckless manner, said Finn, a former prosecutor and trial judge.
The TSA reported in July that for the first six months of this year, screeners found 894 guns on passengers or in their carry-on bags nationwide, which was up about 30 percent from the same period last year.

  10. Bloomberg must be thrilled with this bust:

    http://news.yahoo.com/authorities-men-smuggled-guns-nyc-164315400.html

New York Police Department officials and prosecutors announced details of the case on Monday, citing it as another example of a persistent black market in which firearms from the South can sell for three times their original price in the city. New York has some of the nation's strictest gun-control measures and a mayor who has crusaded for tougher laws in other states.

  11. And Ramsey hath spoken again:

    http://timesnews.net/article/9065768/chamber-goes-silent-on-guns-in-parking-lots-law

“You can let somebody go at any time for no reason,” Ramsey said. “But if you actually let them go for a reason and tell them that, that it is for a legal or a constitutional right, you’re opening yourself up to a lawsuit. I still agree the bill we passed was good. I’m sure someone will come back next year, not me, but there will be a legislator to come back and create a right of employees to carry their gun in a car.”

  12. Whenever I'm in the woods in bear country I ALWAYS have bear spray with me. And I wouldn't hesitate to use it on any hostile critter meaning me harm. The videos on youtube showing bears actually being sprayed  show they definitely do get outa dodge when they get a whiff of that stuff. I always carry a gun as well but many of the experts say that the spray is more effective in getting the bear to leave verses accurately shooting a bear in a vital spot (And getting them to leave is the idea).

I recently took my can of spray out to the driveway and shot a short burst just to make sure it was still working. After about 30 seconds and the cloud had dissipated I walked into the area where I sprayed it and whatever lingering molecules of the spray were left nearly choked me to death. I took off running into the house coughing, spitting, and gaging and wondering if I would live to see another day. That stuff is powerful! I realize now, if I ever have to actually use that stuff on a real bear, if he's not downwind from me I will need to do everything I can to get upwind of him or I better think twice about pushing that button.

  13. Well Sen. Ron Ramsey has once again gone on record explaining the "intent" of the new law going into effect today. Too bad he/they didn't incorporate their "intent" into the wording of the law.

    http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2013/jul/01/new-laws-in-effect-in-tennessee/

The state attorney general said in a legal opinion released in May that under the law, employers still would be allowed to fire workers who violate gun bans.

Senate Speaker Ron Ramsey disagreed with the opinion, saying in a statement that the "General Assembly created a clear statutory right allowing permit holders to lawfully keep a firearm stored in their car while at work."

"Any employer explicitly terminating a permit holder for keeping a gun locked in his car would violate the state's clear public policy, opening himself or herself up to legal action," the Blountville Republican said.

  14. A few years ago a couple of guys (father and son) joined my shooting range after moving from NJ to TN. They told me several horror stories of persecution against gun owners. The Dad told me that if you want to take a gun to a shooting range (hard to believe they even have any) you must lock up your gun in the trunk and make NO incidental stops between your house and the range. You don't stop to get gas, snacks, use the potty or anything. And the cops are actually given a bonus for catching violaters of the NJ absurd gun laws. The two guys that moved here felt like they had been let out of jail. They just couldn't get over the freedom that we and so many other states have when it comes to gun posession. I just know I will avoid New Jersey if I ever make any trip to the northeast.

  15. I flew with a handgun three years ago.  No problem going out of Knox,  leaving Phoenix was a whole different deal.  I did exactly the same thing both ways.  Had a Phoenix cop detain me while it was all sorted out.  Idiot TSA guy about had a stroke when he encountered the declared handgun.  The cop was very nice and told me I had done nothing wrong.  I was pretty much giving the TSA jerk a piece of my mind the entire time. Mr.TSA did not like me so much.

That is so strange. I had a completely different experience flying out of Phoenix  three years ago. I declared my gun at the ticket counter, the lady kind of ho-hum looked at it in my suitcase and gave me the "firearm" flag to go inside the suitcase and sent me on my way. I asked her if a lot of people fly with guns and she said "Lord Yeah" we get 'em all the time, especially during hunting season. She was A-OK with it all the way.

  16. TSA Week in Review: Record 65 Firearms Discovered In Carry-on Bags (54 Loaded)

    http://blog.tsa.gov/2013/05/tsa-week-in-review-record-65-firearms.html

Record 65 Firearms Discovered This Week – This beats our previous record of 50 guns. Of the 65 firearms, 54 were loaded and 19 had rounds chambered. See a complete list and more photos at the bottom of this post.

Firearm Strapped to Prosthetic Leg of Passenger – A passenger at Salt Lake City (SLC) received a pat-down after an anomaly was detected during advanced imaging technology screening. During the pat-down, officers discovered a fully loaded .22 caliber firearm inside his boot and strapped to the prosthetic leg. The passenger was arrested by Salt Lake City Airport Police on a state charge of “Carrying a Concealed Weapon in a Secure Area.”

It's amazing what some people will try to do. I just don't understand why.

  17. How careless (or stupid) do you have to be?.....

    http://www.wjhl.com/story/22488071/tsa-discovered-loaded-firearm-at-tri-cities-regional-airport

    BLOUNTVILLE, TN (WJHL) -
