I guess this reminds us of how many westerns were on TV back in those days. I think the theme song for "Have Gun Will Travel" is still my favorite. I was also surprised to find out that Johnny Cash sang the theme to "The Rebel."

I came across this video link on youtube with the theme songs of many of the Western TV Shows that were on TV during the 50's and 60's. This brought back a lot of memories of my childhood, glued to the set, watching my favorite cowboy heroes in that day. I thought maybe some of you would enjoy listening to them too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCO6smQrjJ8&list=PL0B0873E104E846A8

It's getting to be a daily report of some gun owner misplacing a firearm. We really have to do better. http://www.ijreview.com/2014/01/109048-really-wont-believe-wife-nfl-quarterback-left-rental-car/

Kellie Pickler spent Christmas in Afghanistan on a USO tour. I'm sure the troops appreciated her coming again to visit with them. She has made several trips for the USO and my hat's off to her for really being a supporter of our guys and gals in uniform.

I'm not a big fan of Lamar Alexander but he has gone on record and signed along with 50 other Senators a letter to the President stating opposition to the Arms Trade Treaty that this Administration supports. Here is a link to the story with a very good short review of the treaty that is well worth reading. I can't vouch for the website, as I know nothing about it, but this article is really good: http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/constitution/item/16805-lamar-alexander-un-arms-trade-treaty-violates-second-amendment I just wish there had been 100 Senators to sign the thing, as there should have been.

Here is a link to the Guns America Blog where the writer goes into detail about his experience with the recall. He likes what they did to his gun and says it shoots better now than before he sent it back. http://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/springfield-armory-xd-s-recall-update-review-of-upgraded-guns/#comments

I don't know if this is a popular sign or not, but yesterday I was in a restaurant that sells a lot of hot wings and this sign was hanging in the men's restroom.

From an interview before the President's first election he had this to say: And yet this country seems to be turning against itself with different groups being pitted against one another in so many different areas of our lives. The video above demonstrates the extent that one political party is willing to go to try and force its' way in making the people as "uncomfortable as possible" in this tug of war between the President and the Congress. Thank God he has been such a uniter. Where would we be if he wanted to deliberately cause strife? ;)

'Gestapo' tactics meet senior citizens at Yellowstone

I'm beginning to not even recognize this country anymore. -
It's stories like this that is making me angrier and angrier as this "shutdown" thing drags out. If they have enough rangers to enforce blockades on Federal property, why can't they keep the same rangers on duty to keep the parks open? I'm beginning to think the National Park Service is being run by a bunch of bully thugs. I guess many of the individual rangers are "just doing their jobs" but the guys giving the orders?..not so much! http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/10/07/lawmakers-probe-reports-property-owners-kicked-off-federal-land-amid-partial/
