  1. I've seen you over on packing4life. You'll learn a lot on this site. Its the best for Tennessee Gun Owners.
  2. Here is a link to a youtube video which plays part of a debate between radio host Lars Larson and Brady Campaign President Paul Helmke. If you've never heard Lars, he is very pro 2 Amendment and has a carry permit. I think he broadcasts out of Oregon. Its only about 5 minutes long. [ame] [/ame]

  4. 1. Purchased 2 AKs on consecutive days. 2. Purchased body armor. 3. Purchased a third AK. 4. Purchased a taser. 5. Purchased a tactical helmet. 6. Purchased a shotgun. 7. Purchased "clear out grenades". 8. Wore body armor to school. 9. Had been arrested in the past for carrying a concealed weapon. 10. Having trouble dealing with his mothers death. Odd behavior? - to say the least. Since it is apparently against the law to be in posession of the spray on school grounds, law enforcement had to arrest him. If he was planning on some Columbine replay, maybe evidence will be found from the stuff they took from his home. I don't think this kind of behavior can be ignored. If my kid was a student in that school, I wouldn't want this to be ignored.
  5. Guns should be banned because we as a society have decided (through our elected representatives and our court systems) that it is good not to imprison those members of our society who have shown an unwillingness to refrain from violent criminal behavior. More often than not, when a person is arrested for a crime of violence, it turns out that that individual has a "rap" sheet a mile long of crimes commited in the past for which a minimum amount of time was given to be served in prison due to, time off for good behavior, plea bargaining, early release because of prison overcrowding and other legal manipulation of the system. Any society that is unwilling to protect the majority of its citizens from those who have demonstrated by their actions that they cannot be trusted to live peacefully and honestly amongst us, simply cannot allow the widespread availability of weapons and firearms. To do so would be to invite the criminal element to take advantage of the proliferation of personal weapons among the citizenry, and utilize the available weaponry (illegally aquired of course)and prey upon the weak and defenseless. So in summation, when the crimminals are running free, and our guns have been confiscated, then and only then will we see how wonderful and peaceful our great nation can be.
  6. Once you get to the site, how do you find the videos?
  7. 18.2-283: To a place of worship while a meeting for religious purposes is being held at such place, without good and sufficient reason. You are also legal to carry openly in a restaraunt that serves alcohol, but I think it all depends on the local view of this as to whether you'll get hassled or not.
  8. Chelsea you little fop.....what do you mean you're voting for Fred Thompson?.....Have you been listening to Rush Limbaugh again?!!!!!
  9. Good Post jgrauman. Very interesting to read the thoughts of a lot of the police on the street.
  10. Don't know how I missed this thread. U. S. Air Force 1970 - 1974. One year at Ft. Lee, VA. One year at NKP Thailand. 2 years in Wilmington, NC. I was in the Security Police. While working inside the Headquarters for Electronic Warfare one day, all of a sudden many of the guys who worked on monitoring the equipment came running past my security desk and ran outside the building. Something big was happening but I could not leave my post to find out what it was. I soon found out that the first B-52 to be shot down by the North Vietnamese was coming in to our base for a crash landing. It actually went down a few miles from our base. All those on board bailed out and survived -- from what I was told.
  11. Anyone want to supply an appropriate caption for these two pictures? This could get good.
  12. OK. Let's take it a little further. Hillary is elected. Two years into her term, the United Nations puts tremendous pressure on member states to crack down on private firearms ownership. With the liberal press bombarding the evening news night after night with stories on why we need to be an international good neighbor along with headline news stories of every criminal act where guns are used, do you think the American electorate can be moved to the point where the majority of voters, along with the majority of the Congress can be persuaded to go along with severe restrictions being placed on private gun ownership? The United Nations is the darling of many in the liberal left who seem hellbent to get its approval on anything we do and whose priority is to cooperate with anything the UN says is good. I'm concerned that if liberal globalists are in control of our government, they will be willing to submit to UN demands for us to give up our American traditions if it means better relations with them. And its already being reported that Bill Clinton wants to become more involved in Foreign Policy matters in a Hillary Administration --- Sec. of State? Ambassador to the UN? Who knows? It will certainly be different than when John Bolton was there.
  13. At the very least, we all know she at least has a chance of being the next President of the U.S. Assuming for the moment that she does win, and if the Democrats pick up a few more seats in the House and Senate, what do you think she would really propose for new gun control legislation? What do you think she would get? Do you think there would be enough Democrats that would buck her proposals to stop them?
  14. Thanks guys. I'lll look into your suggestions.
  15. Took my Marlin 336 to the range today and confirmed what I've known for some time....the eyes just aint what they used to be. I have never had a scope on a gun and really haven't had any experience with them and have no idea what is involved in putting on a scope or what to look for in one. Anyone on here have any suggestions on what I need to get? I would like to be able to reach out 100 yds and be consistent.

  21. I don't know if this is staged but it is sure impressive if its not. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/310020/chechen_hand_gun/
  22. Handgunlaw.com is wrong on this one. Tn state law has not changed. We still cannot carry on any government owned land used for recreation (state, city, or county). This is spelled out under the heading for Tn at HGL. There is a "contact" link on their home page to send them an email. I don't have outlook so I couldn't use it. Someone else needs to try and get this corrected.
