  1. I saw Old Crow Medicene Show two years ago at Rhythm and Roots in Bristol. Haven't been able to sit still since. Right now I have Celtic Woman in my van. If you like Celtic, it don't get no better than them.
  2. CrazyLincoln, Are you really crazy??? A video showing George Clooney, Hilary Clinton, Barak Obama, and Al Gore :puke:in a comical good light???? On a pro gun website??? May the spirit of Samuel Colt visit your boudoir tonight and every night, depriving you of rest and sweet dreams until you confess to the members of this board what a dastardly mistake you have made! But I have to admit, that was funny.
  3. What is Naifeh's political history as far as elections are concerned. Is he one of these pols who never gets any real opposition because he is entrenched in his office and no one can get any traction when running against him? Has he had any close calls in elections recently?
  4. Yep, the Greenbelt is a city park and off limits for handgun carry. It has also been a haven for perverts and wierdos of every stripe. I haven't heard of any incidents occuring there recently but over the years several attacks (mostly against lone women) have taken place. Too many places for "evil doers" to hide in the brush and jump out as you walk by.
  5. Fallguy, From the Wiki link you posted: wikipedia page The Democratic majority in the Tennessee House was narrowed to 53-46 by the overall statewide outcome of this election. Shortly after the election some pundits suggested scenarios in which another Democrat considered to be less partisan, such as Frank Buck of Dowelltown in Middle Tennessee, could have been elected Speaker if he could get the unanimous support of the Republican minority and the help of a few dissident Democrats from the eastern two-thirds of the state. (From 1973 until January 2007, when state senator John S. Wilder was defeated in his reelection bid for the speakership of the state senate, both houses of the Tennessee General Assembly had been led by West Tennesseeans.) However, Republican party discipline was totally lacking, when the issue came to a vote (Buck declined to be nominated). Nine Republicans joined with all of the Democrats to reelect Naifeh. These Republican members were warned of the possibility, even the probability, of facing officially-party-endorsed opponents in the August 2006 primary election, should they choose to stand for another term. http://www.nashvillepost.com/news?id=26268 Republicans who voted for Naifeh were, State Rep.s Mike Harrison (Sneedville), Joe McCord (Maryville), Steve McDaniel (Parkers Crossroads), Richard Montgomery (Sevierville), Doug Overbey (Maryville), Dennis Roach (Rutledge), and Kent Williams (Elizabethton).
  6. Welcome Tom. Let's see now.....lived in Kingsport.....live in California now. I don't understand. What did we do????
  7. Mars, you make me want to . While I see where you're coming from I don't share your pessimistic view of the situation. This year may or may not be the year we see improvements in our carry rights but nothing will ever change if we give up the fight. I think your assessment of how restaurants would respond if HB0702 were to pass is a little too pessimistic for me. After all, carrying in places that serve alcohol has been successfully done in other states and I see no reason why it wouldn't be a good thing if we passed it here. I visited Penn. last year and carried virtually everywhere I went including restaurants that serve alcohol, and I never saw a sign anywhere. Apparently they have managed to get it done to everyone's satisfaction, and so could we ( I think ).

  9. Here are the members of the Criminal Practice and Procedure where HB0702 has been sent: Chair Janis Sontany, (D) Members Eddie Bass, (D) Rob Briley, (D) Henry Fincher (D) Judd Matheny ® Eric Watson ® These are the folks who will take the first shot at this bill. With the shenanigans he pulled last time I know Briley is never going to vote in favor of this bill, but I'm not familiar with the voting record of the others. Any thoughts?
  10. I've seen discussions on this and other message boards about the confusing state of Tenn. laws on where we can and cannot carry. Its almost like they are written vaguely on purpose. Until they put forth the effort to clean up this state of confusiion I will err on the side of compliance that will keep me out of trouble (and legal expenses) and not jeapordize my right to carry my handgun to most of the places I go. I wish there was a better answer than that but for now, that's how I see it. Must have took you awhile to look up all those links Fallguy. Good work.
  11. News Video of what happened to a man who carried openly to a polling place in Pennsylvania. The local sheriff revoked his carry permit. Turns out he was within his rights and he got his permit back, but the authorities did not like it. [ame] [/ame]
  12. The arguments against carrying in places where alcohol is consumed very often follow along this line quoted above: There are those who could also say that "one day we were doing some Christmas shopping at the mall when all of a sudden, someone pulled out a gun and pop, pop, pop. The next thing you know, several people are dead and several people were injured." So let's outlaw concealed carry at malls. There are those who could say that "one day we were sitting in Church and someone pulled out a gun and pop, pop, pop. Several dead and several wounded." So let's outlaw concealed carry in Church. There are those who could say "one day I was sitting at a red light and some guy jumped out of his car and pulled out a gun and started shooting and pop, pop, pop. Several dead and several wounded." Let's outlaw guns in cars on the street. The thing that is left out of all these examples is that it isn't the person who has a Handgun Carry Permit that is wreaking all the havoc. We aren't the ones going on random killing sprees or shooting up Churches or getting in gunfights over fender benders. We are the law abiding. We are the ones who took the initiative and took the classes, paid our fees, and got our State approval to carry our guns. We are the good guys! If I can be trusted to stand on the sidewalk outside of Applebees with my concealed weapon, why am I a danger to go in with my family and eat a meal? Does passing through the doorway change my personality to some "gun-toten cowboy hankerin fur a shooten?" I think not. "No drinking while carrying" is sufficient for any of us. And it doesn't matter where we are.
  13. Thanks Len for the update. This really needs to pass this year. We've been waiting too long. This and Park carry are my two biggest gripes about Tenn. laws.
  14. I hope the day will come when a "political action alert" sent out on this board causes the politicians in Nashville to shiver in their shoes at the thought of running afoul of our 2nd Amendment Rights.
  15. This may be old but someone sent it to me today. I thought it was pretty good and thought ya'll might get a kick out of it. Why did the chicken cross the road? DR. PHIL: The problem we have here is that this chicken won't realize that he must first deal with the problem on 'THIS' side of the road before it goes after the problem on the 'OTHER SIDE' of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he's acting by not taking on his 'CURRENT' problems before adding 'NEW' problems. OPRAH: Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens. GEORGE W. BUSH: We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here. COLIN POWELL: Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image of the chicken crossing the road... ANDERSON COOPER - CNN: We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road. JOHN KERRY: Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the chicken's intentions. I am not for it now, and will remain against it. NANCY GRACE: That chicken crossed the road because he's GUILTY! You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks. PAT BUCHANAN: To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American. MARTHA STEWART: No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a standing order at the Farmer's Market to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information. DR SEUSS: Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told. ERNEST HEMINGWAY: To die in the rain. Alone. JERRY FALWELL: Because the chicken was gay! Can't you people see the plain truth?' That's why they call it the 'other side.' Yes, my friends, that chicken is gay. And if you eat that chicken, you will become gay too. I say we boycott all chickens until we sort out this abomination that the liberal media white washes with seemingly harmless phrases like 'the other side. That chicken should not be crossing the road. It's as plain and as simple as that. GRANDPA: In my day we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough. BARBARA WALTERS: Isn't that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart warming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting, and went on to accomplish its life long dream of crossing the road. ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross the road. JOHN LENNON: Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace. BILL GATES: I have just released eChicken2007, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your check book. Internet Explorer is an integral part of eChicken. This new platform is much more stable and will never cra...#@&&^(C% ....... reboot. ALBERT EINSTEIN: Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken? BILL CLINTON: I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. What is your definition of chicken? AL GORE: I i nvented the chicken! COLONEL SANDERS: Did I miss one? DICK CHENEY : Where's my gun? AL SHARPTON: Why are all the chickens white? We need some black chickens
  16. My wife works at Wal-Mart. Everyday there is another story similar to what you posted. The "buying public" is a never ending source of comedy.
  17. I think they charged $7 to get in at the last one. I've been several times and have bought and sold to people just walking around inside and outside. There is a lot of stuff I'm not really interested in but its fun to look at it anyway. I've never been to a gunshow anywhere else except at the Civic Auditorium in Kpt. and Meadowview is way bigger than that.
  18. Thanks guys for responding. In the link to the owners manual on page 18 is the parts diagram. The parts in my mag were #s 30, 38, 42, 43, and 45. 43 is the tab between the floorplate and spring westwindmike is refering to I think. I'll try putting it in a vise like "groggy" mugster mentioned but I don't think I'll be able to get it back together. Seems like too many things to do at the same time for an incompetent like me.
  19. I decided to take apart my PT25 magazine for cleaning tonight and figured it would be no more difficult than my other autos. Well, it exploded into about 5 pieces accross my table and after 2 hours of trying to put it back together I gave up for today. I think I'll have to buy another one. Anybody out there have any experience with these mags that could offer any advice?

    I love that video.
  21. That video is hillarious!!! And so appropriate for Tiny Tim to be singing along with it. Check out the other videos on that site. Some really good ones.
