I find it absolutely amazing that the "cashier" was the one to confront you on this. Where was the store manager? If I was the cashier I would figure such a confrontation to be above my pay grade. I have seen OC in one of the stores in Kingsport with no problem at least a couple of times, but this was 3 or 4 years ago so store policy may have changed since then. Anyway, her blanket statement of "we don't allow pistols in the store" is wrong. They may not allow OC, but pistols are not banned from the store if you have a permit. I don't know what the incident was to which you are refering but if it was something in which a legal carrier did something wrong I don't think I would have brought that up in your letter to Wal-Mart. Do you have a link to that incident? Legally you did nothing wrong. And I applaud you for leaving the store without raising a ruckus upon being asked. And like you, I would not want to be unarmed in that store at 3am. - or anytime as far as that goes. I hope you hear back from the manager and let us know what he/she says.

I bought $2,000 of Wal-Mart from a broker back many years ago when it was the hottest thing going. It increased over time to $20,000. Then it started the roller coaster of down-up-down and didn't seem to be doing much. So a couple years ago I sold $2,000 worth (broker fee was $245) and bought Smith and Wesson when the M&P line was the hottest thing on the market and the stock was climbing. My $2,000 investment soon reached a value of $4,000 and instead of selling for a profit I hung on a little to long and S&W tanked. All I can do now is hold on and hope to recoup my original investment. So sad.

If Obama can win the election and also gain a vetoproof majority of the Congress as well, then its hard to say how socialistic the next administration will be. If he wins and doesn't have the support of the Congress then much of his mischief will be thwarted. His biggest impact will no doubt be with who he appoints to the Federal and Supreme Courts, if appointments materialize as many expect. Don't forget, the D.C. Case was passed with just a 5-4 majority. If any of the conservative judges retire, you can be sure the new replacements will be liberal. anti-gun, anti-second amendment jurists.

I ain't buying nothing unless the electronics companies agree not to invent anything else for 10 years. I'm getting tired of buying something and it becomes obsolete before the warranty is up.

I picked up one at Wal Mart a couple months ago. It is a Tasco and I think I just gave about $30 for it. It seems to do everything I would want it to do. I'm hitting on taget out to 50 yards with it. Haven't tried it any farther out. I just got it for plinking. My eyes just won't get the job done anymore.

I think it is an impossibility for any politician to take a position on any issue and not rile the feathers of citizens who take a different position on the same issue. "The population" is the total inhabitants of the country and we as Americans come down on opposite sides of a host of issues. And you can be sure that no matter what the issue is, the group that has its position voted down or not passed (the screwees) will have some loonies in their midst that will be willing to take action against the politician(s) (the screwer) in order to make the man pay for what he's done.

Its a shame to realize that if you turn to the mainstream media to find out what's going on in the world, even after you see their report, you still don't know for sure what really happened. I hope this is an accurate report on what Charlie Glibson and ABC did to Sarah Palin and that it gets read by millions of Americans so they can see what a sleazy organization they really are. (Not that most people don't already know) What's really scary is that ABC is not even regarded as the worst of the offenders in network news. CBS, NBC, MSNBC, and CNN are so in the Obama camp that it will be a major miracle if he doesn't win the election.

Saw an interview with a energy "expert" last night on the news and his explaination for what is happening is interesting. He said that with several refineries having to shut down in South Texas due to the hurricane, nearly one fourth of our rifining capacity is now off line. So even though the price of crude oil has dropped, there is going to be a temporary shortage of gasoline due to lack of gasoline production.

They just said on the 11:00 News that the wholesale price of gas has jumped $1.00 a gallon today!!!

Well, I thought you all would be interested in the final update on this situation. I guess every angle has been discussed and a lot of opinions shared and I think we all benefited from it. Today, Mr. and Mrs. X called my daughter at the store and told her they had decided to purchase the glasses. They came in and while they did not apologize directly, Mrs. X did tell my girl, out of Mr. X's hearing, that "he gets riled up sometimes." And that was that. I guess he dicided that the product he wanted wasn't worth a boycott after all.

I don't know how she will do when talking to the press and debating, but I have to say I can't remember a more well delivered speech since Ronald Reagan. That lady is amazing. No wonder McCain picked her.
