Yeah, mine has the diamond stamp.

They answered both times I called but I would think they are getting bombarded with calls by now. Someone else said they got an answering machine and Ruger called them back. Since Ruger is paying for the shipping, I think I would send two guns back in two different packages. That way if they lost one, you wouldn't lose both. I'd even be tempted to send them back on two different days.

I aint believing this. UPS picked up my gun on 12/8 and delivered it back to me today 12/12. Four day turnaround time from Tenn. to AZ and back. Came back with the new mag and a Ruger LCP hat in the box. Plan on taking it to the range tomorrow and make sure everything still works as good as it did before the recall.

UPS came and picked up my LCP yesterday. They had the label to put on the box that Ruger sent me. I was promised on the phone, 2 weeks or less turnaround time. We will see.

Gun Nation: Cassy's buying a gun
waynesan replied to greenego's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
That is a clip from the National Geographic show that will be on tonight at 10:00pm. EST. 12/9/08 http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/series/explorer/3825/Overview#tab-Videos/06195_00 -
Today's fun experience: Unexpected wheel evacuation whilst driving.
waynesan replied to a topic in General Chat
My wife was driving down the highway in Kingsport a few months back and a wheel from a car going in the opposite direction came off, crossed the median, and slammed into our left front wheel. Did $3500 in damage to our car. The lady driving the other car said her Dad had been working on her brakes and I guess he just hadn't tightened the lug nuts back up. Those runaway tires can really do some damage. -
In the original post: I hate to point out the obvious but the "t" in the first "this" should be capitalized as the first word of the sentence. And just what does "some ya'll" mean? I would understand "some of ya'll" or just "ya'll" without the "some", but "some ya'll"?

I can't begin to imagine what the debate in the committee meetings where this stuff was hashed out sounded like.

I was sitting at the house about noon yesterday and remembered the gun show at Meadowview. Jumped in the car and drove down and I could not believe how many vehicles were there ( and in the lots of adjacent buildings). I have been to Meadowview shows before but I think I have always gone on Sunday. I couldn't get near the place yesterday (Saturday). There was a shuttle bus picking people up at the Eastman Credit Union and the building behind it, and taking people to Meadowview. Is this normal for a Saturday gunshow crowd? I don't see how they can get that many people in the building.

Congrats on the permit. I don't know about where you live, but here where I live if you call WalMart and tell them you are on your way to their store for your first walk-through while carrying, there will be a small delegation to meet you and escort you to sporting goods for a free box of ammo in your choice of caliber and a coupon for 5 bags of nachos with cheeze. Let us know how it goes.

Has anybody sent theirs in and got it back?

Congrats to MINORITY LEADER Naifeh
waynesan replied to 2000silverz28's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
We've always thought that if the pro gun bills that were killed in subcommittees by Naifeh and his hand picked munchkins could have made it to the floor for a vote by the full House, they would have passed. Now we'll see. This is going to be interesting. -
Some people just shouldn't be allowed to vote
waynesan replied to dariks's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Just so happens, John Stossel has an opinion piece very close to the subject of the OP. His take is that some voters should just voluntarily not vote. You can read it here: http://townhall.com/columnists/JohnStossel/2008/10/29/a_duty_not_to_vote -
Assuming that the "fix" is done right, that's not too bad to get one of the magazines with the extension. Its not like I'll be without a gun until it gets back. I hate that this has happened but it looks like Ruger is doing the right thing and trying to do right by its customers.

Found this on another website and thought I'd pass it along. INSTALLING A HUSBAND Dear Tech Support, This year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0. In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as · Romance 9.5 and · Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as · NBA 5.0, · NFL 3.0 and · Golf Clubs 4.1. Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. · Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do? Signed, Desperate. DEAR DESPERATE, First, keep in mind, · Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while · Husband 1.0 is an operating system. Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. · If that application works as designed, Husband1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1. · Please note that Beer 6. 1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta. Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.) In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0. In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend · Cooking 3.0 and · Hot Lingerie 7.7. Good Luck Babe! Tech Support --------------------------------- Upgrading to Wife 1.0 Last year a friend of mine upgraded from Girlfriend 4.0 to Wife 1.0 and found that it's a memory hog leaving few system resources for other applications. He is also now noticing the Wife 1.0 is also spawning Child-processes which are further consuming valuable resources. No mention of this particular phenomenon was included in the product documentation, though other users have informed me that this is to be expected due to the nature of the application. Not only that, Wife 1.0 installs itself so that it is always launched at system initialization where it can monitor all other system activity. Some applications such as PokerNite 10.3 , Bachelor Party 2.5, and Pubnite 7.0 are no longer able to run on the system at all, causing the system to lockup when launched (even though the apps worked fine before). Wife 1.0 provides no installation options. Thus, the installation of undesired plug-ins such as Mother-in-law 55.8 and the Brother-in-law Beta is unavoidable. Also, system performance seems to diminish with each passing day. Some features my friend would like to see in the upcoming Wife 2.0: A "don't remind me again" button. Minimize button. Ability to delete the "headache" file An install feature that provides an option to uninstall 2.0 version without loss of other system resources. An option to run the network driver in "promiscuous mode" allowing the the system's Hardware Probe feature to be much more useful/effective. I myself wish I had decided to avoid all of the headaches associated with Wife 1.0 by sticking with Girlfriend 3.0 Even here, however, I have found many problems. Apparently you cannot install Girlfriend 4.0 on top of Girlfriend 3.0. You must uninstall Girlfriend 3.0 first, otherwise the two versions of Girlfriend will have conflicts over shared use of the I/O port. Other users have told me that this is a long-standing problem that I should have been aware of. Guess that explains what happened to versions 1 and 2. To make matters worse, the uninstall program for Girlfriend 3.0 doesn't work very well, leaving undesirable traces of the application in the system. Another identified problem is that all versions of Girlfriend have annoying little messages about the advantages of upgrading to Wife 1.0! VIRUS ALERT All users should be aware that Wife 1.0 has an undocumented bug. If you try to install Mistress 1.1 before uninstalling Wife 1.0, Wife 1.0 will delete MSMoney files before doing the uninstall itself. Once that happens, Mistress 1.1 won't install and you will get an "insufficient resources" error message. To avoid the aforementioned bug, try installing Mistress 1.1 on a different system and " never" run any file transfer applications(such as Laplink) between the two systems. FYI: Don't even think about a shared directory!!!!!!!!!

According to their campaign rhetoric, Obama/Biden are pro 2nd Amendment supporters, albeit with the exception of a few "reasonable" restrictions. They have made a concerted effort to make you believe they are not going to "take your guns away." If this is true, why would the anti-gun groups not be shouting to the rooftops about their displeasure at the Dems "new" Pro 2nd Amendment positions after two lifetimes working to take guns away from us at every chance they got? This article explains why: http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/node/6053

Here is a great video by JPFO on the 2nd Amendment. Its 21 minutes long and worth every minute. It covers the 2nd Amendment from the beginning through the implications of the Heller Decision, and features Suzanna Hupp in the narration. Acording to their website JPFO wants everyone to send this video to as many people as possible. http://blip.tv/file/1371746/

Hello fellow Kingsporter. Welcome aboard.

Thanks for the heads up. I just really hate having to leave my gun in the car.

Does anyone know if the Knoxville Zoo is off limits for carry? And if so, why it is? I sure hope it isn't.

Welcome Joe, from another member at Cherokee R&G Club. I spend a lot of time up there on the upper range and skeet range. Hope to run in to ya sometime.

If you want a good laugh, see what this video "exposes" on the history of Sarah Palin. This is good. "Sarah Palin's Murderous Web of Death" http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/?rn=3906861&cl=10140684&ch=4226716&src=news No doubt, some left leaning websites will latch on to this video as a true expose of Palin. If the above link doesn't work. Here is another. http://www.foxnews.com/video-search/m/21173875/red_eye_s_palin_profile.htm?q=sarah+palin
