  1. TnMitch, you helped start my day off right!! I thought you were going to say if you dropped it off a roller coaster it has a very small chance of accidental dischaarge with their reputation of on purpose discharges not being the best.

  3. It passed to the Calendar and Rules Committee. It passed with the amendment giving local control of city and county parks. In other words, it is against the law to carry in the park unless the local authorities say its OK. They can allow carry in all their parks, some of their parks or none of their parks. They can also allow carry in just portions of parks such as Ok on a bike trail but not on a ball field. I would guess that for all practical purposes, city and county parks will remain off limits. And that's a shame. They've made it too complicated to approve carry.
  4. HB0716 Carry in State Parks rolled until next week. HB0960 Carry in Local Parks and Federal Parks PASSES out of committee.
  5. That is soooo funny!! Copied and sent to everyone I know. Thanks for posting.
  6. That's a whole lot like "girl" watching on Ocean Blvd in Myrtle Beach.
  7. We have been told for several years that if the Bills could be brought to the floor for a vote, they would pass. This year, for the first time, the truth of this statement is apparent. Without the interference of King Jimmy the Restaurant Bill passes 70-26. There are a lot of congratulations to be sent out to those representatives who have fought for years to get this thing passed. Republicans and Democrats. And I intend to write many of them and tell them so. I write them when they don't do what I think they should and I'll write to praise them for doing the right thing. And a great big "atta boy" to all the guys and gals on this board, and other 2nd Amendment supporters, who worked to call and write their reps on this issue and encouraged others to do the same.

    Cig Tax

By raising the prices of tobacco and eventually pricing the "little guy" out of the ability to pay for the product, we create a new product for the South American Cartels to "import" into this country. With a lot of talk about decrimminalizing marijuana it may be our way of helping the South and Central American economies since so many of them depend on drug money to keep things going. Just replace mary jane with tobacco and keep business as usual.
  15. I assume that Mr. Campfield is a pro 2nd Amendment guy and that he has a good record for standing up for our rights. However, in watching this proceeding today I was less than impressed with Mr. Campfields presentation of his bills. He hadn't provided the members of the panel with copies of some of the legislation he was proposing, he had trouble answering some of the questions by pro gun reps on the panel, and I thought he just made a bad impression for the cause he was trying to defend. Maybe I am being too critical, but for heaven's sake, when its your turn to stand before the committee that is going to pass judgement on your bill, BE PREPARED!
  16. That's what killed it last year Don't be too pessimistic ttocswob. Aftre all, this is the era of hope and change. And without Naifeh ruling as Lord and Master over the House we have definitely gotten farther this year than we have in a long time.
