  1. I carry in waist band and it stays concealed most of the time. Like Punisher said, it's not going to be 100% and I have received a "Your gun is showing" but I don't really worry about it any more. I try to stay concealed but I've long since gotten over the phobia of anyone seeing it. I have locking side bags, but I rarely use them for my gun. I will if I have to but it's more personal preference. That also takes care of the weather question. Good luck finding the solution that works best for you.
  2. On Saturday morning I had the privilege of riding in my first Patriot Guard Riders mission. And fortunately this one wasn't to honor a fallen hero but instead to honor one who has risen back up. SSG Heath Calhoun was seriously injured in an RPG attack in Iraq in 2003 resulting in the loss of both legs above the knee. He has since accomplished things that mere mortals only dream about, including placing in the top ten in two World Paralympics skiing events and riding 4200 miles across the country using only his arms just to name a few. We met in Clarksville at 10:00AM, kickstands went up at about 10:35. We were escorted by Clarksville PD and followed by the Calhoun family; Heath, his wife, and 3 kids. Upon arriving at his new home speeches were made by several VIPs, including the President and CEO of Homes For Our Troops and General Richard Cody, former commander of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, KY where Calhoun was assigned when he was injured. Other guests included the County Mayor, City Mayor of Clarksville, a representative from Calhoun's former unit, a couple of reps from the offices of Congressmen and Senators, and Calhoun's father and grandfather. Overall, the weather was nice, the people were great, and the event and the event was one of which I was simultaneously humbled and proud to be part. And SSG Calhoun has gotten a little something back in return for all that he gave. Here are a couple of pictures. SSG Heath Calhoun at the rally point in Clarksville The bikes at the Calhouns' new home Clarksville PD did a fine job as the honor guard And finally, a panoramic view of the new Calhoun home
  3. "Is this an episode of The Twilight Zone?" "No" "Are you sure?" "Pretty sure." It would be funny if it weren't so scary.
  4. This would be my choice for anti-zombie transport.
  5. I'm in. Better late than never.
  6. I have the entire week of Thanksgiving off, so I will be out there. Hopefully I will get one this year.
  7. Same here. 5 years active, starting in '92 so I missed the Gulf War. I was out well before 9/11. I did my time but I never had to lay my life on the line for any more noble cause than jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. So while I am technically a vet, I don't presume to put myself on par with those that have faced the possibility of giving, or have given, the ultimate sacrifice. I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for all you do to preserve freedom here and abroad.
  8. That's awesome. I wish I could do that stuff.
  9. Thank you and may God be with those that are still in harm's way and watch over their families until they safely return. God Bless America. http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=KTb6qdPu8JE
  10. Yea, at $235 I think I better stop at looking.
  11. When you are in uniform you are representing the military to the civilian community. As a whole all branches of the military frown on this type of behavior. For example if you get technical you are supposed to refer to all civilians as sir or mam when addressing them, a fact with which Barbara Boxer is apparently unfamiliar. To those of us that actually care how we're represented when off base the type of behavior outline by Carbon is very insulting.
  12. You do understand the concept of comedy, right?
  13. There was one in my company, before I got there. He actually had papers for jump school, jumpmaster school, dive school, the Q course and everything. The only reason he got caught was because somebody got hurt on a jump that he was jumpmaster on and the routine investigation ferreted it all out. Pretty scary.
  14. I used to have one but it was mistaken for scrap metal when I was visiting the year 2318 and crushed. I had a hell of a time getting back.
  15. There is a huge chasm between believing that the federal government has absolutely no authority and making a political/economic statement like, "Abolish the Federal Reserve." Even some Congressmen believe that should happen. But really, a law enforcement officer should be on high alert during every stop since, as the video so clearly points out, there is no such thing as a routine stop. There's also a pretty substantial difference between being on high alert and starting every traffic stop with guns drawn and citizens face down in the dirt. Display your sticker proudly. Worry about things that need to be worried about. If a cop seems a little edgy, maybe cut him a little slack considering some of the folks he has to deal with. And when he asks to search your car, exercise your 4th Amendment rights. You can do all of these things and you and the officer can both go home to your respective families.
  16. I hang mine from the coat hook using the trigger guard. Just kidding of course.
  17. I hope that never happens to me. Ouch.

    New?

Great question. I'd say some type of sniper rifle. Screw all that close quarters zombie fighting. I want to reach out and touch someone from a distance.
  19. When I was in AIT at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, TX just about every business in the town gave a military discount. It was the most military friendly place I've ever been. People would even stop you to thank you for your service. And that was well before 9/11. The first time it happened I almost fell over. To all you vets and vet families out there, thank you so much for your service and sacrifices. God bless America.
  20. The world could use one less helpless victim. And a few more criminals springing sudden leaks.
  21. Oh yea? Well I double dog dare ya.
  22. Which Game Stop? I'm at Nashville West now. Robert
  23. If you can find a good IWB holster for it, I would highly recommend a Browning M2. It is Detroit after all. Robert
  24. Welcome to the forum. And since you offered, I have to ask: how did you get your wife and dog to work on home improvement projects? I will be sitting by my keyboard awaiting your secret.
