  1. Shift linkage is exactly what came to mind for me as well. You may be able to look underneath and see where the shifter comes down and see what's up with the linkage. I don't know the truck in question, but that's at least worth a peek.
  2. I think this dead horse has been beyond beaten. Most everyone involved, present company included, has let their emotions get the better of them on this subject. And I don't think a single heart or mind has been won by either side. I'm going to lock this one up for now and we'll continue this on the next controversial issue.
  3. Because Madison was the sole decision maker regarding the Constitution. No other "framer" had anything to do with it.
  4. That is also a BS byproduct of our broken legal system. You know when you walk through the doors or a bar how you are going to get home and it's nobody's responsibility but yours to make sure you do it safely. The alternative is that a bartender, who is not an officer of the law, is required to administer a breathalizer test to everyone as they walk out the door violating their 4th Amendment protections. BTW, my apologies to you and Clownsdd. I completely disagree with your position but I shouldn't have made it seem like I was attacking you personally. That was not my intent.
  5. There is a huge chasm between leaving your keys in your car and putting a sign in it saying to steal it. Not in the same ball park. Not even the same sport. Either way the person who crashes it is responsible. Let me put it another way. Many of us on this site leave their guns in their home unlocked so that if it is needed it is available and ready to use immediately. If a thief breaks into your home, which is easily foreseeable, and steals your unlocked gun, which he will most certainly do, and kills someone, are you responsible or is the thief? If we allow the insane example above to proceed how can you possibly argue that the owner of a stolen gun is not responsible for whatever nefarious deeds it is used? It really doesn't matter who left what where. Is it illegal to leave your keys in your car? As far as I know it is not. And even it it were how can you justify removing personal responsibility and liability from the thief? As gun owners we constantly preach that each person is responsible for their own actions but now we're going to make an exception? Not me. I don't care if I leave my keys in the car, engine running, doors open. It is NOT an invitation for anyone to steal it and if they do they are responsible for what they do with it, not me.
  6. Except the part where the slide didn't lock back when the gun was "empty."
  7. I am speechless at how insane those statements are. Nobody but the grade A Dbag that stole the care is responsible. Let me give you another hypothetical. If you leave your front door unlocked and someone walks in and shoots your wife, should you be charged with murder? Using the same logic you are defending how can you possibly say no? Give me a break. That's the dumbest crap I have ever heard.
  8. And a lot of inquisitive idiots. And it wasn't a mistake that you found this site. It was DESTINY! Bwa ha ha.
  9. I have a better question. Is it too early to start looking for a non-RINO candidate?
  10. I once had a dump truck back over my car and then try to leave the scene. I got a ticket. Go figure.
  11. Those folks at the Open Carry forum have a year long wait in line to kiss his butt. And God forbid you speak out in opposition to The Enlightened One. Every Internet commando/mall ninja on that board will be on you like white on rice in a glass of milk on paper plate in a snowstorm.
  12. I do for the most part. But sometimes I go places that I don't want to drive to. I also like to attend a sporting event every now and then. And if I get an unfair ticket I want to be able to enter the courthouse to defend myself. But I carry everywhere I am allowed.
  13. I stand in the same stance as when fighting hand-to-hand. Think boxer. Pugilist, not the dog.

I'm with you. Bring on the .40.
  15. I love this law. Especially the part where a person has to prove to the government that they are a person "of good character and good repute in the community in which they live." Nothing like being required to prove to the government that you're good enough to enjoy the freedoms supposedly protected by the Constitution to remind you on which end of the prison-style rape you belong. Ben Dover. Glad to meet you Ben.
  16. Yea, because you can't possibly do that if the government doesn't define it for you. Give me a break. This is just going to be another way to collect taxes based on what kind of business a restaurant does.
  17. Congrats to you and the wife, Johnny. You are starting an amazing and rewarding journey. Don't worry too much about the details as they will fall in line in short order. I mean basically all you have to know at first is which end is the mouth, which will be easy because it will be the end that's screaming constantly, and how to change diapers at 3AM after about 3 days with no sleep. Nothin' to it.
  18. Did you all look at the Leonard Embody Road Trip map? Hilarious! Kwik's Road Trip
  19. Here's mine. 2008 FJR1300AE. Looooooooove this bike.
  20. Here's the problem. What's dangerous and what's not is for analysts to decide. You would be surprised what a good intelligence analyst can pull from a simple communique. And we don't need our enemies, or even our not-so-enemies gathering information about our intelligence gathering techniques regardless of the information provided within. That's why even the techniques themselves are classified. This jackass is endangering American intelligence gathering at best and American lives at worst. I hope he has a very inconveniently timed boating accident very soon.
  21. That was never in question. However, leaking classified documents to the world reveals information about sources and techniques for intelligence gather and runs the risk of weakening those efforts on a global scale. Not to mention possibly puts in danger agents in the field. Leaking this information in this fashion, regardless of the upside, is a bad thing.
  22. I think I'd be interested at that price.
  23. Amen. The places with supplies are going to be overrun with humans, which means they're going to be overrun with zombies too. Better to have supplies on hand to wait out the worst and then do some recon for supplies once things die down a bit.
