  1. Like Carter said, a 5" gun can be a lot to carry, especially when going from a XD9SC. I like the EMP too, but it's a bit too expensive for my tastes. Another ditto on the trigger. The 1911 is customizable in every way in the book, so get the one that fits both your hand and your budget and get that trigger work done if you need it.
  2. WOW. What did douchenozzles ever do to you to deserve such an insult?
  3. No it's really not. This would be a better analogy: You have an employee that continuously defies your orders. After several repeated warning to do what he's told you finally have no choice but to fire him. You hire a new employee and explain the history you had with the old employee. He assures you that not only will he meet your expectations but that he will exceed them. Hopeful but not overly optimistic you hire him. On his first big assignment he completely fails to do what you hired him to do. And what do you do now? Give him a raise? Not I.
  4. That's because it's not that hard to see when your head isn't stuck in your fourth point of contact.

    Rant

You guys are all just freaks of nature. That's all it is. I gotta tell ya, I've been glad I'm short more times than I wished I was taller.
  6. Huge difference. I don't measure my son's worth by his ability to play sports. As a matter of fact he isn't very good at sports. But at 12 years old he can program in Visual Basic, C#, and Java better than I will ever hope to. On the other hand, I DO measure my politicians by their ability to do what WE the taxpayers pay them to do. And they suck the big one at it. So yea, they're losers. Big time. In every sense of the word. I could go on, but you get the picture. The point is they promised to make cuts that would make a difference. What they have done is akin to not ordering a fifth glass of wine with dinner and calling it saving. Bull. When you've change the situation from being in the hole $1.65 trillion to being in the hole $1.62 trillion that's not at all impressive.
  7. I disagree. We went from no cuts to about 2% of the cuts it would require just break even. Big whoop. I'm so impressed. The Democrats most likely proposed the zero number to take the emphasis off of planned parenthood and other programs the Republicans wanted to defund so they could cave on that number and then force the Republicans to crawl uphill just to get the point where those programs were even in the picture. I think the Dems got exactly what they wanted. In the grand scheme of things the Dems had a hundred dollars to play with and they gave up a dollar. So we got a buck and they got to keep 99. Impressive.
  8. Are they identical or fraternal? Cute kids either way. A big congrats to your whole family.
  9. Not sure. But it was "Hmmmm" not "Mmmmm."
  10. That statement should shed a lot of light on how the government views themselves. They feel that protection your Constitutional rights is an unnecessary burden. Which is the way it was intended. But they now want the burden of protecting your rights to be on you, not them. Damn I hate these people.
  11. Yea I think the 3 week range is a good round number to go with.
  12. I guess that's all right. I mean if you're into incredibly difficult shots from impossible distances using a round that leaves a hole where there used to be a scumbag terrorist.
  13. At least in the top few. I'm not sure if it's better than Dexter, but it's pretty darn close.
  14. I would be all over it. As a matter of fact I think I'll make it at the house.
  15. And you don't "need" a 30 round magazine, but I'll be the last one to tell you that. Wait...
  16. Here's my take, though I will be repeating what some others have said. Note that everything we know is based pretty much solely on the recording with the brief setup at the beginning. The guy appeared to be nothing wrong. Kudos to him. However, anyone fails to comply with an officer's instructions when he has a weapon trained on him, right or wrong, is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Even ACLU lawyers will tell you to comply with an officer's lawful orders and once the officer has determined he is safe or made himself so, then you can worry about the legalities. If this guy had been shot by the officer, again right or wrong, he probably wouldn't have a leg to stand on. First and foremost obey the officer's commands. Yes you want to correct him for the future but arguing with a cop with a gun is just a plain bad idea. Play stupid games... All that said I don't appreciate the condescension displayed by all the responding officers during the initial encounter. You can be forceful and commanding without being an *******. I had a similar encounter with a fat tub or lard motorcycle cop here in Nashville over me honking at a lady who for the third time in less than a block came into my lane even after I honked my horn at her. So this kind of thing might just rub me the wrong way. Now I'm not looking for these guys to be all "Pardon me sir, but do you have any Grey Poupon?" but they were Richards if you know what I mean, and I think you do. I counted more than 20 times they used the "F" word toward him and called him an a**hole no less the three times. I understand the job can suck at times but the way you treat people goes a long way toward the way they treat you. And the fact that you could hear several officers' voices and they all acted the same way tells me that the department OK's this behavior. So I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the folks in their precinct/patrol area are distrustful and disrespectful towards cops, but it MIGHT be of their own doing. Who knows? All in all though, back to the beginning, he should have done what the hell he was told right from the beginning and this probably would have ended a lot different. You can be right, and you can be dead right. Right G?
  17. You'll notice that even when you combine the proposed cuts from both parties, which is almost equal to the $100 billion of cuts the Republicans ran on, it still amounts to only crumbs.
  18. I've stopped places on the way home from the range and gun shows but I didn't ever find it necessary to take my rifles in with me. Maybe all of the above scenarios COULD happen, but this was a planned demonstration by an open carry group so in this case we know for sure that they didn't.
  19. If you want to really know why their stupid strategies won't work, watch this. And while you're watching it remember it only covers this year's budget. It doesn't touch the debt.
  20. That right there is why I like big cities, in moderation. Chinese food in Nashville is not Chinese food. It's American food with a Chinese flair. If you want to get authentic foreign food you just about have to go to the bigger cities. Short of traveling half way across the world this is the way to do it. Ok, now I'm hungry.
  21. I'm glad I wasn't the only one wondering this.
