I keep three guns by my bed: My carry gun, my nightstand gun, and the wife's carry gun. Between the back door and me are both my childrens' bedrooms, so I have to leave mine. The wife can can 911 with her gun in hand while I go see what is going on and protect the kids.

+1 for swapping out the Kimber mags for Wilson for carry. I still use my Kimber mags at the range, along with my McCormick mags, which have also given me a couple of issues.

I wonder if there would be a way you could rig a mailbox so that a certain amount of pressure - say that of a baseball bat hitting it - would blow open the door and spray orange paint down the side of the offending automobile. When someone's in your house uninvited it's semantics. The difference between burglary, robbery, and home invasion only matters on the police report. They all look the same on the coroner's report.
