  1. Even with the injuries, I'm glad he's alive. Hopefully he will recover successfully with the help of family, friends, and organizations like The Wounded Warrior Project. God bless him, his family, and those who will help and guide him along his road to recovery.
  2. The only balloon animal I can make is a worm. A straight one.
  3. That's nice looking. I like how far forward the top of the grip is. I'm going to have to find a way to shoot one some time.
  4. The only question I have is...will you do mine like that?
  5. Welcome to the patron state of shootin' stuff, Sam. And to TGO.
  6. Actually I don't really question their motives. I'm sure they think they're trying to help. But I really have a problem coming up with a scenario where there is a disaster and the federal government knowing what I have in the form of rations/provisions would help me.
  7. This. The federal government is the last place I'm going to look for advice on...well, anything. So they don't need to know what I might or might not have.
  8. I love it. Definitely time to steal that idea.
  9. Disregarding the fact that it has already been shown that a pretty low percentage of guns used in crimes come from gun shows, this guy's own math shows he's an idiot. He says there are at least 100 gun shows per year in Tennessee with at least 1,000 guns sold per day at each of them. Even assuming that each gun show was only one day long that means in his 25 years hosting gun shows there were 2.5 million guns sold with no records. And he says, "“But I also believe citizens should be able to walk around or sit on their front porch without bullets flying.” I would think with 2.5 million guns out there from gun shows alone if that was going to happen, it would have already. What was it somebody said? Asshat? Yea, I'll second that.
  10. I know a guy who accidentally shot someone without his finger on the trigger. And it wasn't pointed at the guy. In an amazing series of coincidences, three safeties on his gun failed and the laws of physics were suspended all at the exact same moment resulting in a gunshot wound to the femoral artery of his friend.
  11. Then download Chrome to fix the problems caused by Firefox. Or skip the Firefox step. That's what I shoulda done did.
  12. I'm guessing from your screen name you have exquisite taste in firearms.
  13. It's in the second picture. And in the first in the back.
  14. He's lucky to be alive. I hope he is able to recover as much as possible from his injuries.
  15. 1911s are great guns. I love my XD and XDm but my carry gun is a Kimber Ultra Carry II. It's just hard to beat how that 100 year old design shoots. Congrats on yours.
  16. Does this work for all primer sizes?
  17. I think we have a winner. When I set them on end and looked more closely they seem to be at the same height after all. I think this must be factory crimp. It's funny I've never noticed it on any of the ammo I've shot but I'm definitely seeing it now.
  18. I did have one or two that was Aguila, but in this group the .40 is Federal and the rest have FC as a head stamp. If this is factory crimp can I assume that it is safe to reload as usual?
  19. Lester, it is interesting that you say that. The reason I posted this thread is because they kind of looked machined. It is not a smooth ring all the way around but rather a kind of perforated look which is why I began to suspect that it might be something else. However they are at different heights. If I can't get a positive answer I'll probably keep throwing them away because they have amounted maybe 2-3% of the total brass I have collected so far. If in doubt I will definitely err on the side of not blowing my gun up in my face.
  20. Honestly, I don't know for sure. I picked this brass up after the match at MCTS today.
  21. Still being new and wanting to be extra careful I have been throwing these away. Is this an indication of incipient case separation or something else of which I am unaware? I am referring to the rings around the cases.
  22. It's pretty sad how the area that saw the birth of this nation is the same area that's trying to kill it.
  23. In SERE school we were taught to gut it and use the internal cords to make a net for fishing. I guess its uses would be limited only by your imagination. If you can do it with light cord or string you can do it with para cord.
  24. Apparently the ability to think critically is not a requirement to get a job, or even become a supervisor at the TSA. This is just plain stupid.
