  1. The payment is automatic, but the activation is manual. Chances are David has been enjoying the holidays and hasn't seen your payment. He will get to it though.
  2. I knew SOMETHING was missing from my Christmas festivities. Now I know what it was.
  3. Kimber Ultra Carry II is my daily carry. The only problems I have had so far have been magazine related. The fix for that was easy - Wilson Combat Mags.
  4. The news is filled with the obituaries of people who never needed a gun until the day they died. Some were younger than you, and some older. I'd be willing to bet not a single one of them woke up that morning thinking they'd need a gun that day.
  5. He's considering making the XD mistake. Trading the XD for a Glock. You take that back you rascal. Yea, there is definitely something wrong with you. A sniper on National Geographic hit a Taliban guy at a mile and a half. But I ain't buyin' a TAC 50 because of it. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
  6. Try resetting your browser to default settings. It seems something is messed up in there and without going back and forth for about 200 posts with guesses this may at least get you working.
  7. Very funny stuff. It would be better if you could actually pick out your weapons. No way I'm putting a sticker of a Glock on any of my vehicles.
  8. In Tennessee most LEOs are comfortable with the HCP carrying community. You will always have exceptions and many of them are folks that migrated here from some more enlightened state, like Illinois. I have had 3 encounters while carrying - two sobriety checkpoints and a stop for speeding - and all three have been pleasant. All three I informed up front. At the first sobriety checkpoint as soon as I told the officer I had my HCP and was carrying he said to have a nice evening and off I went. The second one was in Alabama and I explained that I was a TN HCP holder, he went and checked with his Sergeant/supervisor, and again sent me on my way. So far 3 for 3 means I will always be informing up front. YMMV.
  9. Gun, if there is any question send the Paypal transaction # (whatever Paypal calls it) to David and let him know that's you. Your benefactor status is a manual change so this might help ensure things go quickly. Unless of course you did as bigwakes suggested and included your screen name in the the payment, in which case he will get it done.
  10. That's funny. The first thing I thought was, "That's probably a depiction of the Dubai skyline." And whaddya know? Looks like somebody was looking for a reason to be offended to me.
  11. Not everybody can HALO jump from 75 miles up into the ocean, SCUBA in 12 miles in 30 foot seas, stop the propeller of an enemy destroyer with their bare hands, climb the hull of it unaided, and take out the entire 12,000 man crew with nothing but a finger nail file and a rubber band. Any time you take your gun out of your holster and punch a hole in paper, it's training. There is more than one kind and countless levels of training, including IDPA and similar competitions. It's not realistic to expect that everyone would spend every weekend at Tactical Killers Training Academy so you have to fill in gaps with something. At IDPA you shoot on the move, engage multiple targets, utilize cover, perform reloads and immediate action drills for instance. How exactly is that not even remotely close to training?
  12. Yea, 1911 disassembly and reassembly can be a pain. But I think it's worth it because they are such great guns.
  13. I haven an in with Santa and he said it's not looking too good for either of you. Try harder next year.
  14. So far everything I've seen from him indicates he is ten times the professional of any of the others. He's the only candidate that isn't going to just extend the status quo. He's also the only one that not only knows what the Constitution actually says about the government's powers but would actually live by what it says. Gotta hate that, huh?
  15. That thing looks awesome. Great job Gordon.
  16. When I watched it, it had a Volvo ad at the beginning. Funny.
  17. Check out the name on # 9,280, page 88. http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/875/576/677/
  18. You'll probably be OK with most camo that has at least some of the colors of your environment. Most animals, humans included, tend to key off movement way more than color so if you're sitting still and blend in reasonably well you're almost invisible. But if you're moving it almost doesn't matter what color your wearing unless you're doing so behind quite a bit of concealment.
  19. The real effect of a law intended to "Keep guns away from dangerous people" will be to keep guns away from thousands of law-abiding citizens, and in the process one or two dangerous ones. Gotta love gun control.
  20. I'll second what Dolomite says about limp wristing compacts. Even the angle of the wrist can affect the reliability of the gun as my wife found out this weekend. She was firing her XD9SC and even with a death grip would get stovepipes where I would get none. But her wrist was not in a straight line with the gun and it was almost undoubtedly causing her issues.
  21. That's pretty good for anything government related.
  22. I will be renewing without blinking. $60 is a bargain for that place. And if there was ever a nicer guy than Charlie I sure as hell haven't met him. Maybe my father-in-law but it's a close race.
