  1. Turn your monitor 90 degrees. Glad I could help.
  2. Hope you have an expense account. Very true. The only thing it would really accomplish would be to outlaw the Christmas present I just gave my father-in-law, for example. Very, very few guns used in crime come from gun shows.
  3. Is that the version where you have tea parties with frilly hats and play duck, duck, goose and tag?
  4. Agreed. He also had his muzzle down when he waved and then brought it up in an apparent attempt to help cover the bad guy. All in all I'd say the cop probably wasn't upset this guy was here. The manager had the advantage of not being shot at since the cop was distracting him, so to speak. He was able to take three calm shots and end this thing. It's just lucky that with so many shots fired in such an enclosed space nobody was killed. Favorable outcome, all things considered.
  5. $10 says he was twirling like a cowboy and impersonating John Wayne.

  7. Maybe I need to see that video then. When talking about the issue with the drawstroke I guess I was thinking more of a jacket or open shirt, where it might get bunched up as your're following your torso up. In truth they're not significantly different, just a little in the details where one might work better for one person than another.
  8. I'll tell you what I don't like about the 4 count draw stroke. If wearing a cover garment it will be difficult to get that kind of holster clearance. Also, with the classic you can shoot at 2. Both seem to have their strong points though.
  9. I'll do it. I want that sign to stay with our name. I'll PM you.
  10. Um, you forgot about Ron Paul. He not only believes in the 2nd, but the 1st and 3rd through 27th as well. There is not a single candidate out there that even comes close to being half as constitutionally minded as Paul. It's like pitting Jerry Rice vs. the fat kid in your 4th grade class in a football catching competition.
  11. So far Peanut Butter & Jelly has my vote.
  12. I'm and XD guy. Can you guess what my vote is?
  13. This guy must be on cloud 9 then. He was probably able to pick the gun out of a photo line up consisting of a 1911, a potato, and a '74 pinto. "Put him behind the gun counter." People that are new to guns and don't really understand their operation and the operation of the safeties tend to do think like this. Until they are able to see it in action and see how it works it won't change. Single action guns don't go bang very well when not cocked.
  14. No, Nashville is different. I know this for a fact because the mayor and city council told us so before they borrowed $1 billion to build this gran hall. All of a sudden living in Cheatham County ain't such a bad thing.
  15. He's one of those rare only children that has seven brothers and sisters. Congrats to him and thanks for his service.
  16. Someone asked this same question on a Facebook discussion about this same topic. This was my response: The Special Operations community is a small, tight knit community with some unwritten rules of which Ventura was certainly well aware. And one of the rules is, sometimes getting your ass whipped is the appropriate and expected response. This was one of those cases. In my opinion, Ventura should be glad it was only one punch from one guy and not a beat down by the entire team, which also would have justified in this case. Telling someone that their friend or family member deserved to die because of decisions made by politicians they never met is begging to get your ass kicked every day of the week and twice on Sunday. In truth Ventura should thank Kyle for so swiftly and effectively answering his pleas. But Kyle, being they Type-A bad ass that he is would probably just shrug it off and say, "No thanks necessary. I was just doing what had to be done."
  17. Wow. What infinitesimally small amount of respect I had for Ventura is gone. It takes a special kind of POS to make a statement like that at a wake in front of the family. Maybe he should go protest with those d-bags from Westboro so he can be among like-minded wastes of oxygen.

I thought we all did that. Gotta be ready for anything.
  19. I would love to at least see a picture of it. Welcome to the forum.
  20. My current load for my XDm 5.25 is 147gn Zero JHP, with 3.1gn of Vihta Vouri N320 powder. It's pretty light and operates both my XDm and XD9SC without issue (unless the wife is shooting the XD9SC). OAL is 1.142" on them.
  21. I haven't seen any stories indicating he had a permit which leads me to believe he did not. The law would not have affected this one way or the other, ignoring the fact that he had already shot four people prior to this. I've had hypothermia. The shivering lasted almost two hours after I changed clothes, climbed into a sleeping bag, and was laying next to a fire. It wasn't pleasant at all.
  22. Just a point of clarification: You can leave the ammo in the magazines as long as the magazines are inside a case covering the rounds. I use a soft sided binoculars case.
