  1. Can't wait to shoot this one. Looks like it's going to be...interesting.
  2. Bump. Lots of interest but only two PMs. Please get those waivers filled out and PM me so we can get this scheduled. Thanks everyone.
  3. OhShoot is right. The picture is way too big. Save the one he scaled down for you and try that.
  4. The CATO Institute has published a report on defensive gun uses in the U.S. that looks like a good read. I am still reading it so I can't comment much on the conclusions but it does so far seem to be pretty good stuff. Here it is if you are interested. http://www.cato.org/pubs/wtpapers/WP-Tough-Targets.pdf
  5. You are correct about the study. It does not take into account many factors that would eliminate them from the study. It's just like every other anti-gun "study": full of holes that are pointed out the day after the study is released. But glaring flaws have never stopped Brady from touting a study for years after it was debunked.
  6. Apparently this can only be done by David in IPB. In VB we were able to do it but I can't find where. I'll get this over to him.
  7. I'm guessing that's because when they wrote them they didn't expect that when they asked someone to follow the posted rules that the response would be a resounding "F you."
  8. In that case, get on it folks. Get those waivers filled out and sent to me. PM me for the address when you are ready to send it out. The waiver is at the bottom of the page, at the link titled "Volunteer Release Form." If anyone doesn't have Microsoft Word let me know and I send it to you in another format.
  9. This is what I was going to say. My reloading time replaces time when I am doing nothing constructive so it doesn't cost me a dime for my time. And the fact that I am very relaxed and enjoy doing it makes it that much better.
  10. I will go out and get a stack of waivers this week and get them sent out to those interested in helping out. Thanks for the info Blake.
  11. Early. I'm thinking we meet around 7 or 8AM and get to work. Or have breakfast and then get to work. Whatever works for everyone. Damn good point. No I don't but I will send Blak a message and see if I can get them.
  12. It's that time of year again. We need to get out to our stretch of highway and pick up some trash, putting a good face on the gun owners of the great state of Tennessee. We need to pick a date and get some volunteers. We own the east bound lanes of Vietnam Veteran's Blvd/Hwy 386 in Sumner County, from mile marker 4 to mile marker 6. I would love to see at least 10 people volunteer but the more the merrier. Now for dates: In March the only Saturday I have free is March 31st so if we can't get enough volunteers for that date we'll have to look at April. Sundays are generally not good for me but if a majority of the group wants to do it on a Sunday I will go with that. Also, I would like to get this done while the weather is still pretty pleasant but even on a pretty chilly day you'll warm up pretty quickly picking up a quarter mile's worth of trash. The next pick up will be on a hot day so let's get this one scheduled while we can still enjoy ourselves. So, all you civic minded upstanding citizens of Tennessee it's time to pick a date. You have my vote above. Let's see yours now. Edit: Go here to print and sign a waiver (Volunteer Release Form at the bottom of the page). Once you have it filled out PM me for my mailing address so you can send it to me and I will get it to the TDOT office to be put on file. http://www.tdot.stat...t-a-highway.htm
  13. 1- 30.06 2- 155mm Howitzer 3- 30mm 4- 40mm grenade 5- Nerf dart 6- Water balloon 7- Poseidon Missile 8- Patriot Missile 9- .410 10- .50 BMG 11- Assault bullet 12- M67 Fragmentation Grenade 13- Hellfire Missile I know those are all right because I got the info from the Tennessean.
  14. I am not a lawyer but it is my understanding that the lower courts are supposed to follow the lead of the Supreme Court where precedence exists. In this case the Supreme Court fell short of saying that we have the right to carry, so unfortunately this is probably the correct legal opinion. Hopefully this will make it to the Supreme Court and get properly hashed out and guarantee our right as it was meant to be guaranteed.
  15. LMAO. Well played sir. Well played.
  16. Upload the picture somewhere online (Flickr, Photobucket, imgur) and use the image button on the toolbar when you make a new post to link to the hosted image.
  17. No doubt. Gonna be hard to prove intent but it will be extremely easy to prove negligence. He's going to prison either way and now these kids will be without two parents. As opposed to a gun that fires a single shot on purpose? Especially the results. They're up above 82% on the "no" side now.
  18. Every state has hundreds, if not thousands, of stupid laws. Watch John Stossel's "Illegal Everything" if you want to get your blood boiling.
  19. I wonder if he has walked over and talked to the guy about his concerns. My guess is he has not. A lot of these issues can be avoided simply by talking to your neighbors.
  20. Why did I expect anything more?
  21. I agree. (I thought something sounded wrong about Sherpa. ) It's only an issue if you make a habit of making a squeeze the trigger kind of motion when you draw. I see the point but everything you do with a gun can be unsafe if you don't follow the safety rules and don't ever practice.
  22. How are they unsafe? (Disclaimer: I only use Sherpa at IDPA. My EDC holster is just a plain ole Don Humer leather belt slide.)
