You reacted in an attempt to protect your son. You did good. Don't beat yourself up because you didn't take a certain action. You acted. That's half the battle.

TMF is correct. You want to be caught off guard by the scenarios presented in the course. They will try to trick you and will probably succeed at least once. Pay attention to the instructors. They really are top notch and know what they're talking about. Other than that, you will learn what you need to know in the course. Good luck and enjoy.

Jak, I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. If you can't make it this weekend I doubt there is anyone who would not understand completely. But if you can I will need your waiver soon. I will need to turn these in before I can pick up the bags, etc. Thanks to everyone who has volunteered. And if you have any friends on here make sure you shame them into volunteering as well.

Carrying a gun is illegal in Tennessee unfortunately. However, once he realized you have a permit, which a defense, he should have explained his actions and sent you on your way, no harm done. Acting like an a-hole after he realized you have a permit was wrong. File the complaint.

Even if this is true, which I highly doubt, it's the wrong fight. You can remove Obama from office but it won't change the direction this country is headed. Until there is a forklift style overhaul in D.C. we'll continue down this same path. The only thing that may change is we may slow down from 100MPH to about 95MPH. Big whoop.

I seem to remember an issue a couple hundred years ago similar to this. If I remember correctly there was a tyrannical government that thought that they could allocate the peoples' property however they saw fit and there were some folks that believed that was over-reaching on the government's part. Where are Patrick Henry and Sam Adams and Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson when you need them?

I have owned 3 vehicle that didn't even make it to the first payment before damage was done. One was stolen, one I ran off the road (motorcycle taking a curve too fast) and one was sideswiped by a lady that didn't even make a pretense of pausing at a stop sign. I more than feel your pain. You do get over it eventually, I promise.

Unfortunately we're nearing the point where more than 50% are receiving some sort of government subsidy. Once that apex is reached it's a straight shot to the bottom because you know they aren't going to vote for people that are going to take away their welfare cheese.

Well put. The only thing about this story that bugs is we all know how gun incidents are treated in the press. It is very likely Ferrell has spent the last several months listening to the upstanding citizen next use his girlfriend as a punching bag, seeing the cops come and go and nothing happen. It is very conceivable that he knew the couple and knew they were the only two in the apartment. I'm not condoning the shooting of the door blindly but I will say we definitely don't know all the facts. If we did it would be a rarity among so-called journalists these days reporting on gun-related incidents.

Remember what?

Multiple studies have shown that this is simply not the case, obvious or not. People who really want to commit suicide don't scratch their wrists with an old toothpick. People who really want to commit suicide pick the most efficient means available to them. In countries like Korea and Japan where guns aren't readily available the suicide rate is still significantly higher than in the U.S. So it might be obvious but it certainly isn't true.

Will, we all agree we shouldn't have to pay to exercise a Constitutional right. But until they pass Constitutional carry nationwide we are unfortunately left with little choice if we want to stay out of the pokey.

I kept waiting for the punchline. That is the stupides thing I have seen today.
