Fortunately that is not possible. I am NOT OK with ANY law that tells me I have to buy something, even if I already own it, regardless of the tax or other financial implications. It is not within the government's authority to tell me what I must buy, yet they already do so and so I must comply under the threat of violence.

It's the deterrent effect. The whackos don't know at which schools the ARs will be placed. Of course the odds are in their favor.

How the industry should respond to gun control laws
LagerHead replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
They would appeal to the federal government who would yet again trample on the rights of individuals and corporations and force them to sell. Of course Jonnin's point about screwing the gun owners up there is also very valid. -
I wonder about the "Zero property taxes" part. How exactly are they going to not pay the government the property taxes that every other American is forced to pay. Can you say, "tax evasion"? Good, I knew ya could.

Assault Rifle Not Used In Newtown
LagerHead replied to FlyboyLDB's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
To be fair, I think the OP and TMF probably came across as a little too caffeinated. To keep anyone from feeling the need to prove they are the biggest, baddest, most-to-be-feared Internet Ninja Warrior on the block I am going to lock this thread. Now everyone take a chill pill and return to your regularly scheduled programming. -
I like it. I am going to have to try and find one in a store to fondle.

Ya think? It won't (hopefully) be long before this ends up in court and is deemed so.

Charlie Rangle don't like Southerners.
LagerHead replied to Will Carry's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I guess his crooked tax-dodging criminal ways are what is he going to overcome us with. I think I'll keep my guns thanks. -
To control the dialogue you must first control the language. That has been, and still is the liberal/socialist method. They have forced political correctness on us and have all but forced us to refer to our firearms as assault weapons. I too have begun using other terms. I doubt it will have any more effect than a drop of water in the ocean but I have to do my part.

Thread title should read, "Steve's Guns On Bear Creek Pike Practicing Free Market Principles." If you sell something for less than people are willing to pay you're a sucker, plain and simple. If anyone offers to pay me $500 for my shoes I'll have a very uncomfortable walk home.

I've already stated I don't open carry. I believe it has also been pointed out that there are in waist band holsters that don't show anything outside the belt line. Is it not possible that he was wearing one of these and his shirt rode up as suggested before? I think your characterization of him as a "D*Bag" is pretty telling and illustrates the exact point I was trying to make about us being our own worst enemies. The funny thing is we bash the elitists who try to take our guns while the elitists within our own ranks invent arbitrary rules about the "right" way to carry. Maybe we should rewrite the 2nd Amendment to read, "[,,,]the right of the people who carry approved handguns in approved holsters while wearing the approved attire shall not be infringed"?

I don't think this would be a violation of the law. They are a private business and are not obligated to sell you anything. Likewise you are not obligate to buy anything from them.

The BBC stuff is very good (Bluegrass Brewing Company for the uninitiated ;) ) I'm with you on the acquired taste thing. If I drink something once and don't like it I don't go back. But beers are a lot like women: Some are nasty and stinky and not worth a second look. Others are beautiful and complex and inspire you to be better than you are. When you find one of the latter you hang on to it. :D Black Lager does indeed suck. Have you tried their Foreign Extra Stout though? Not the regular Extra Stout with the beige label, but the high alcohol stuff you can only get at liquor stores. Good stuff! Love me some Innis and Gunn. I have tried three of their flavors and thought they were all worth it.

For the record I don't open carry. If anyone changes my mind about that it will be the folks here who think that simply carrying a gun in public is anywhere near the same thing as "beating someone into submission." I'm not sure how open carrying is moving backward though. If I lived in a state where people didn't need therapy at the very site of a law-abiding citizen lawfully carrying a gun I would consider that a huge leap forward. David, your arguments against open carrying are always well thought out and rational. Frankly I find it hard difficult to argue against anything you say. And as I said above, I don't open carry. I just think that if someone does open carry we need to realize two things: First, we probably aren't going to change their mind. And second, they are NOT part of the problem. The problem is those people like Suzie Homemaker. If you're friends with her you need to change her mind. And if you're not, you're probably wasting your time trying.

That's exactly what I was going to say. That dog would be named Winston if I had him. Here's one of ours. Just added him to the family last month and he's already spoiled rotten. His name is Chopper.

I hope he gets $300 for it. As a matter of fact if anyone wants to pay $135 for some Pmags I've got 5 or 6. I'll even ship on my dime. Yea, I'm that great. Disclaimer: This not an actual ad, so it's not in the wrong forum. I am being facetious.

Yep. Lester wins the Internet for a day. Including the parts funneled down the hole. I am on here because my wife Googled TN gun forums.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Sometimes we gun owners are our own worst enemies. We piss and moan and bitch and whine and complain - rightfully so I might add - when someone tries to infringe on our right to carry concealed. But let someone have the nerve to open carry and public, lawfully, and we don't even wait for the gun-grabbers to skewer him. We do it ourselves. God forbid some smelly hippy of a leftist freedom hating hoplophobe gets upset over the sight of a gun! Oh my we couldn't have that, could we? Yes, this is a war of perception. And the people's perception right now is that only a few extreme whack jobs carry guns in public. And we are part of the reason they think that way. You really need to examine yourself thoroughly and decide whose side you're on. Instead of lambasting those who believe the 2nd Amendment applies even if you wet your pants at the sight of a gun how about laughing at the wet spot at their feet instead?

I've been told that if people are allowed to carry guns there will be shootings in every Wal-Mart over parking spaces. I've also been told that when people are allowed to carry in restaurants where alcohol is served that it will be the Wild West all over again, with gunslingers battling it out drunk in the streets. Don't believe everything you're told. Unless of course there is actual evidence to back this up. ;)

Overreaction? Yes. It's the free market. Supply and demand. If people didn't think it was worth the markup they wouldn't pay it, leaving him holding the bag. Since people are paying it, it's obviously worth whatever he is asking. Unless of course you prefer a planned economy? If so, there are plenty of Socialists out there who can help you with that. ;)

Here is our latest additon, Chopper.

That's because your head isn't firmly planted in your fourth point of contact (your butt for you dirty legs :P ) Try ramming it up there real good and you'll see their point.
