  1.         Both of these are excellent points that anti-gun groups conveniently ignore. They also carefully word their "statistics" so that they aren't always lies. And to be fair Honduras surely isn't actually #1 on the list when you consider countries in Africa where kidnapping and murder are a daily, if not hourly occurrence and numbers surely run in the triple digits per 100,000 people. But as stated by ShamGlock the way these numbers are reported is highly inconsistent even among countries that do report. Many don't report and as a result countries that far exceed anything on this list don't even make it on the list.
  2.   If that is his current position I can't say I have any beef with it.
  3. The thing you're missing is that they already were taxed on that money. Here's a simplified version of what is going on: A guy, let's call him Mitt, makes millions over his lifetime running businesses. That money is taxed at a rate of over 39%. After years of running businesses he decides to retire with whatever is left over in his bank accounts. For the sake of easy math let's assume he made $10 million. $3.9 million of that went to Uncle Sam leaving him with $6.1 million. He then invests that money in stocks, etc. That money then begins to make a profit. That profit is taxed at the lower capital gains rate of 15%. The thing that you're missing is that the situation is the same for you. If you also invest in the stock market, etc. your dividends will be taxed at the exact same rate. Another thing you seem to be missing is that both rates - the taxes on earned income and the capital gains rate tax - are too high. This is not the government's money to begin with. This is money that is taken from someone who earned it honestly under the threat of violence. The unfair part is not that you pay less than anyone else, the unfair part is how much we ALL pay. I know it's been said a thousand times but it bears repeating: "If you control the language you control the argument." Again, you're not comparing apples to apples. You're comparing apples to Volkswagens. You don't pay more than a millionaire on earned income unless you're a mutl-millionaire. And even then your taxable RATE is the same.
  4.   Not to mention amnesty for illegals.    I'm really shocked that our esteemed Senators from Tennessee didn't make the list.
  5.   Damn straight. Nothing like splitting zero dollars several ways to make taking a case pro bono worth your while. ;)
  6. I really like Ben Swann and rarely find fault with his "Reality Check" segments. Here though, I have one small complaint.    Piers Morgan's argument is that the UK's low homicide rate is due to their ban on guns. But the truth is they have always had a low homicide rate when compared to the U.S. Banning guns really didn't have an effect on their overall homicide rate.
  7. You know, when people are raised in a mostly free country they don't see what it is like to be denied basic human rights. Those who, like Mr. Ong, choose to become Americans are often much more appreciative of the rights they were denied once they have them and they are not so apt to surrender them freely as those who have always had them. It's pretty sad that we don't appreciate the great country we have.
  8.     That is awesome. Once he goes shooting he'll have to have a gun for fun. Once he has one for fun he'll be more open to thinking about its use as a self defense tool. Once he starts thinking that way he's on our side. You have planted the seed my friend. Excellent work.
  9. De Opresso Liber. Never thought the motto of the Special Forces Command would be applicable here.
  10. Someday this woman is going to be asking herself how her children ended up in prison. Even more sad is that she will have no idea that it was all her fault.
  11.   Well that's obviously because of your ignorance of guns. If you would just listen to the media you would know that the mere presence of a gun increases your risk of being shot. I'm just glad the gun didn't have a collapsible stock or it would have shot the baby on full auto. ;)
  12. Hard to believe he ever called himself a Republican. Of course he also called himself a Democrat. And now he calls himself an Independent. I call him a typical elitist prick.
  13. Jim Cooper is my rep. I don't need to send him a letter to know why he didn't sign it.
  14. Since when do Chicago politicians care about what is legal and what is not? They are the biggest bunch of crooks in the country.
  15.   I don't think the rank thing is an "official" rule. Of course "official" is a relative term since the whole challenge coin thing is pretty unofficial.    My team leader used to love to bring his challenge coin in the shower held between his cheeks. He would lather up the shampoo and then let it drop. Sick bastard. :D
  16.   I prefer, "May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your genitals and your arms be too short to scratch."
  17. Just to add to what has already been said: DAYUM!
  18. Ditch the Roku idea. I have the 2XD and I hate it. I have an Apple TV and Wii and the Roku never gets used because both the other options are better. It's very unreliable, needs to be rebooted often, and often doesn't respond to the remote. Piece o' junk. Spend the extra $20 and get Apple TV.
  19.   I don't believe this would ever even get to court. The school system doesn't have the power to assess fines, with the possible exception of lost books. In that case all they can really do is withhold a report card or something.      This is a pretty broad blanket statement. Some kids just don't listen. My dad was a pretty authoritarian guy and my brother still spent 8 years in prison. It certainly wasn't my dad's fault. It was 100,000% my brother's. My brother wouldn't have shot himself if he found a loaded gun, but he sure might have stolen it.
  20. I must have missed the part where the school system was given police powers. It's about time we tell our politicians who "believe in the 2nd Amendment" - as if its existence is open for debate or something - to kiss our collective asses.
  21.   I never said they couldn't make you do it. I just said it's not within their authority. In other words half the things they do, they do outside of their authority and outside of the law. Might does not make right.
  22.   It's because they are "advertised as being able to shoot down commercial aircraft with one shot."
  23.   I agree on the first part. The government daily does things that are not within its authority. For two hundred years they imposed slavery on people based on the color of their skin. That doesn't mean it WAS in their authority, it just means they did it anyway.
  24.   Of course the people who sell it will have no political connections either.
